i dunno,thats a hard one, if youre planning on modding it after  you buy it then get the yfz, if not, id say the 250r.

thats  a tough  one ! the  r is  ready  to  ride as is for mx.nice quad   but  on the  other hand  theyfz  is a great quad. but  its  only   gota few  mods , you would  have to sink  a few  dollars  to  make track  ready. Wink

Well the price changed on the yfz it is now 5400 and i would like to get the yfz to have an mx project but the money is just a little problem

So i was thinking of geting the r but would it be has good has a yfz with the same amount of mods and is it reliable cause i hate it when my stuff breaks

just because it is old does not mean a thing if you have ever rode an r then that is all you need to make your decision on i have rode many bikes but i prefered my r.

well thanks every one but i talked to my dad and he said he dosnet want me to get anything that's older than me and he dosent like 2 strokes  Sad  and he really likes the yfz Grin

I'll Buy the '04 YFZ 450 anyday.  The 250R is a '87.  The YFZ will sure fill your needs for track.  Well it's your choice. '04 vs. '87 their both great bikes.  The Honda is 18 yrs. old.  The YFZ is only a year old!  You never know what the owners of the 250R did to it.  Get a YFZ450 I don't want to see you getting stuck on the track all the time.  Don't get me wrong the 250R is a very fast quad.
