holy crapoly, does the front pit really look that bad?

I remember back in the day when there were real hill climbs on the sides of the front pit,,,and maybe a muddy spot near the front.

What's happened to the entrance that there's a lake in the middle now?  Did the middle get deeper with higher sides or something?  I hate that lake in the middle.
