Guys, i know I'm a noob here but i would appreciate the help. In return you have my oath that as i learn i shall help others out as well.
My wife's bike is a 1999 yamaha Kodiak 400 4x4. I just purchased it obviously used. The gentleman told me it had new brakes and it just needed to be bled. My best friend and I bled the brakes and still they dont work. The front brakes is my main concern at the moment but FYI neither the front nor back brakes work. We checked all the pads and drums etc etc and they were in very good condition. A tech told me to get the master brake cylinder. I did get it and installed it and honestly it looks like worst condition than my original one but hey thats what i get for buying on ebay. the fact that neither of the front brakes work it makes me believe by logic that it must be something that controls both of the brakes...right? i just bought a master cylinder rebuild kit to try the cylinder again. FYI the rear brakes are tightened to the max level and still dont work. please help me with your thoughts and any advice would be a big help to someone with a budget. Thanks in advance!

Have the brake lines been checked to ensure they aren't clogged?  Bring it by my house and let me take a look at it.  Your mechanic was just a kid in 1999 so he's too young to know about old school brakes....  Cool
