Sandbox in Georgia

We've been 5 or 6 times but the last time before yesterday was over a year ago. Since then they have really made it nice out there. It's more an atv park (they even have signs that say Sandbox ATV Park as you come in) then a sand pit like it was before.
They have way more parking, A water hose to wash off, and a portapotti there now. They have also changed up the riding areas. The area up front by the original parking is way different as well as the pits, All for the better. The temp bridge that use to be there when they were working on the main bridge to get across the river is gone, so unless you have a atv that can cross deep water you can't get to the other side anymore like you used to be able too. Not sure if that's even part of the Sandbox property but everyone rode there.
Still $10 a day.
I'm sure alot of ya'll already knew about the improvements, But since we didn't I just want to give everyone that hasn't been in a while heads up.

It's weird some places were wet like it's been raining but the river itself looked low to me. Plenty of mud across the road and in some of the trails on the pit side. We all ride sports and aren't scared to get dirty so it was a blast as usual..

Thanks for the update! Planning a group ride up there Sunday the 27th. Should have 6-8 sport quads going. Just pay when you pull in right? Nice to hear the improvements! Since we're on sports and won't be able to cross the river, what will we be missing on the other side? As long as we can ride the sand pits, hill climbs and trails I saw in the pics/videos I'm happy!
Anyone else want to join in?

Yeah there will be someone there to take your money at the gate, Used to be a younger kid in a truck sitting at the gate now it's a woman in a nice newer camper/rv. They even have shirts hanging up for sale,So they are moving on up .. $10 cash per rider per day.
I don't think you'll have any issues finding fun stuff to do even without being able to cross the river. The hill climbs are 10 times better, as are the pits..

Sounds good. So, is it $10 per ATV or per person? My girl rides her own bike, but some of the guys might take theirs as a passenger? Doesn't really matter, just good to know ahead of time. It'll be almost 3 hours for us looks like. Do you take US-1 up from I-295? I put in your coordinates and that what the directions told me.

Not sure if it's per rider or per person, Everytime we go we're all riding, no passengers. On the original sandbox thread there is a # maybe give that a call and find out. And yes we take 295 to US1 towards Waycross. It's right outside Waycross in Alma.

Thanks for the info. We'll be hooking up with one of my friends in Jax on the way, so if you guys feel like going again let me know. It'd be fun adding even more sports to the group!

The place is SandHill ATV Park and we went there a few weeks ago. It was $10 per person no matter how many ATV's you have. The trails through the woods were pretty good and it would be hard to get through some of them without 4 wheel drive.

Ok, thanks for the clarification. We're going Sunday the 27th, 6 bikes so far. Anyone else want to ride? I'm sure we'll make it through the trails, we like getting dirty! As long as it's not 3ft of water that is...
