Hey,
Would anyone like to set up a group ride in Big Cypress National Preserve. Please let me know, it would be great to get a big group together.
We could all meet at Monroe Station, if anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know.
Thanks

If you go please abide by all the rules. I was talking to a ranger about a month ago and they confiscated five atv's for riding off the trails. It's a beautiful place to visit but they have ZERO tolerance....

I am so glad to hear stories like that! if you cant follow the rules you should be prepared to face the consiquences
, If you DO follow them be prepared to have fun and have great memories of an enjoyable experience
this place is great for the people that enjoy it properly and go there well aware of the things you can and CANNOT do. Please get informed and recreate responsibly !!!!

NPS rangers are only a cellphone call away from dealing with scofflaws. You must ride only on designated trails, can't exceed the 15mph speed limit, dump trash or harass wildlife, etc. and can't call AAA roadside assistance when your ATV develops mechanical failure 10 miles inside the swamp. NPS patrols and spends weekends at their camp, deep within the preserve. I can assure you that those who enjoy BC and those with private camps are hell-bent on preserving their privilege of OHV access. So, you'd be kidding yourself to believe that no one will report you for breaking the very strict rules @ BC. Regardless, BC got a lot of rain this past week, so, it won't be a ride most would enjoy. It'll be the kind of environment where, should mechanical trouble disable your ATV, someone would have to tow your ATV back through several miles of seat-high swamp water. Sounds like no big deal only to those who haven't been there/done that. I'm merely suggesting that a group ride might encourage less-experienced individuals and give them a false sense of confidence by being in a large group. I'd strongly recommend limiting your group to several ATVs and only 4x4s for sure.

Its not a place for a group ride. Its subject to significant restrictions and rules. In addition, it requires obtaining an ORV operators license as well as an ORV inspection and permit.
The new, designated trail system is in full effect and the rangers are extremely sreious about enforcing it, along with the speed limit.
Its not a place to go play. You're better off elsewhere.

I agree. I am going elsewhere. Too many rules there.
