Over this past weekend an attempt was made to hack into our system. After failing to acquire the intended information the hacker(s) resorted to creating a ~phishing~ e-mail which you may or may not have received. The e-mails are not coming from RIVA Motorsports, but rather one or more fraudulent individuals posing as RIVA Motorsports. There is only one thing to do if you receive one of these e-mails, and that is to ignore it. No reputable organization would ever send an outbound e-mail that requests you provide personal information through a reply e-mail.
We go to great lengths to protect your personal information which is why the attempt was unsuccessful. Immediately upon the first attempt our system automatically went to work, shutting down the unauthorized access and alerting us of the situation. Unfortunately, we are unable to prevent the hacker(s) from sending out the fradulent e-mail requesting your personal information. If you received one of these fraudulent e-mails you can forward it to HLSM at the following fraud reporting e-mail address:
fraud@hlsm.com. If you were fooled by the original e-mail and responded with personal information, you should immediately contact your credit card company and report the loss of your information to protect your account and learn about additional steps to safeguard your identity.
RIVA Motorsports takes your privacy seriously and does not tolerate unauthorized access to its system. We are cooperating with law enforcement to see that the person or persons responsible are prosectued to the fullest extent of the law. We work around the clock to protect our customers information and situations such as this verify the protective measures in place are working to their fullest. Thank you for your understanding and for being a RIVA Motorsports customer.
Regards,
RIVA Motorsports
