I agree, but night riding should be done as a group. Trails can look completely different at night, therefore leading to people getting lost. I agree that the trails should be opened up for night riding, but in groups. People panic when they are alone
which leads to more trouble. The trails are a lot of fun at night. Open the trails trails up for night riding.

The trails are well marked with signs and heavy use(whoops & wide trails),if people get lost they are just plain clueless. With freedom comes responsibility(and liability).

Not sure of the rules as of today but you used to be able to ride 90 minutes after sunset. I'm sure some would push the 90 from pitch black dark lol. When we camped at Big Scrub we used to eat dinner when it was still light then go do a couple trails.
One night a few riders came in about midnight and the old guy who used to be the host at scrub came out and raised hell with them. They told him they got lost and he went balistic on them saying there ain't no way you had that much gas and stuff. He then ordered them out of the campground and they actually left.

I for one would love to do some night riding. Anyone know who to contact to ask for them to change it . I think anytime you ride you need to be responsible for your actions. We have done everything the powers to be have asked. like registering our quads, carrying a lic, reg, and paying to use the trails. The best way to increase the amount of trail riders is to give back. Maybe at least some limited night riding. With this summer heat there ain't no way I'm riding like I would like to. Anyone have any ideas ?

Haven't posted in a while. Are people saying the forestry is actually trying to get riders on the trails? It was always my impression they wanted us out. I went a few times last year when it was cooler and did the BIg Scrub trail. Pretty nice ride and the bathrooms at BSCG were spotless. Looking forward to some riding when it cools down some.

Require a GPS at night then it would be less of a chance of getting lost.

I think they could put some requirements such as gps , or a map and compass perhaps (I'm showing my age ), riders 18 yrs an older. Head and tail lights on at all times while riding the trail. Maybe even a 2 am limit. I just got to figure out who we can make an appeal to. This won't be easy But I think if we stick to it. We can make it happen with time lots of time.
