With all that has been going on lately and the changing of the guard for SDTA. We are very happy to announce Motorcycle/ & Quad Flat Track Racing @ Sumter Motorsports Park located at 7620 State Road 471 in Bushnell Florida, 33513. Thanks to Matt Sibbick for bringing this subject to the fore front and a big THANKS to track promoter Bill Cleary for working with us on reasonably short notice. Bill has indicated support to have his facility a regular part of SDTA racing. Bill also told us that the track has been extended since the time we were there last year. Also, the interior concrete retaining wall has been removed. Should make for some fast & exciting racing. Last year the racing surface was hard with a good groove and very fast. And traction was awesome.

Gate Entry Fees - 8 & under get in FREE!!!!!.....9 & older - $10.00
Practice starts at 3:00 pm
Racing at 5:00 pm.
Sign Up Fees – Pee Wee Classes - $15.00
All other non money classes - $35.00
Both Money Classes - $50.00 with 100% Pay Back
We will be racing with sling shot type cars, gadgets and micro’s.
We have been working very diligently on areas where we can improve. Some of the changes that you will see at this event and going forward are as follows.
1. Invocation/Prayer and National Anthem prior to the start of the first heat.
2. Trophies for top two finishers in each class except for the expert/money classes. Additional awards for ALL Pee
Wee entries.
3. Victory Lap with the checkered flag will be enjoyed by all final event winners for their friends and family to also enjoy
4. Pictures taken in front of track billboard for all final event winners. (this item is still being confirmed but will be part
of the program going forward). These will be posted on the new website sometime in the near future.
5. All regular SDTA riders will be pre registered based on last series information. Any changes in class, number etc can
be quickly handled speeding up the sign in process
6. Line Up Class Racing Order will be standardized and pre printed with changes allowed for combined and/or eliminated
classes, considerations for riders racing in two events and again, these changes can be handled more quickly.
7. Posting of race line up should be noticeably quicker. You Open Pro Quads guys………be ready……..you are first
out!!!!!
8. Starting line order will be based on order of registration sign up……not number draw for heat 1. Heat 2 will be a
reverse order as usual. Final will be based on heat finishes with ties being determined the second heat finisher.
9. Line up in the finals will remain basically the same, best finisher will have choice on the front line, 2nd best finisher
will have his choice on the front line and so on. So know your starting order and be ready!!!!
There will be other added procedures to help have a fun, smooth and SAFE flat track experience. As we go forward this year and into 2010, we are very excited in our discussions in the events to come.
I do want to mention and Thank Mr. Dave Ware for all his hard work that he put forth over the last two years. He worked his but off during the early hard days of SDTA growth and has graciously given us his blessing and support in our mission. Without Dave, there would be no SDTA and for me personally…….I am grateful for all the fun I am having.
Now more than ever is the time to show up and have a blast enjoying Florida Flat Track Racing. With your support, we can, as I quote Dave Ware….”Reach New Heights”
