In 1692 a group of witches fled from Salem to avoid persecution and gathered together and formed their own coven in northern Florida. They stayed deep in the woods practicing their craft growing stronger everyday but still wanting more power.  The spells became much more powerful and more complex, and soon this group was known throughout the underworld as the Moplexians. The ultimate rulers of evil, it seemed that even the very gates of hell went through them. Nearby towns were ravished and gutted, leaving behind not one single living thing. Unsuspecting travelers did not stand a chance if they ventured near the hostile gatherings. Surrounding residents have told stories of strange sights and sounds emitting from the woods. Bright glowing flames rising upward into the sky combined with the screams of sacrificial offerings both animal and human. Soon the woods became saturated with evil, attracting all types of creatures of destruction and terror. They ranged from the undead to the ungodly monsters of inhumanity.
There was one that would finally put a stop to the reign of barbarous torture that the Moplexians had brought unto this world, one from within the group. A wizard that had seen through the merciless eyes of the coven and knew it should be stopped. At an unsuspecting moment the Wizard was able to banish all the evil spirits & spells into gold and silver coins, binding them in place. These were all placed into a locked chest and buried deep into the ground. The sacrifices had stopped and no one was found in the woods, but it still had an eerie presence about it. For almost 200 years the stories of Moplexia were passed down and the legend grew. Spirits & beings that once roamed spreading evil were now deep beneath the earth contained in a chest bound in the coins within.
As with all legends the story changes through the years and in the early 1900’s it was thought that gold and silver could be found underground in the woods. This drew in prospectors from all over and soon a mine shaft was dug to search for the riches. The chest was eventually found, and as it was opened all could see the abundance of gold and silver coins. This was the last thing that some of them ever saw. As the chest was opened it released with it the spirits & spells that had been placed there so long ago. All the occupants of Moplexia were made to suffer and cursed to live in decayed rotting bodies that would not die.
So if you ever find yourself in northern Florida and see a sign that says, Welcome to Moplexia, turn around and don’t look back. For if you are spotted by the evil that resides there you will be sucked into its grip and held in an eternal damnation.
If you think you have what it takes to turn Moplexia back from its wickedness then come out and help us.  We will gather on 'All Hallows Eve', as it is the only day of the year where the spirits are vulnerable to recapture. Throughout the woods the gold and silver coins that contain the spirits and spells have been scattered. They must be found and returned to the chest so the wizard can once more place them underground. But be warned, if all the coins are not returned before dusk, the spirits will be freed from their prison and will start to roam and cause mayhem in the woods once more. At this point the only way for you to escape this evil is to travel into the woods at night and go into the mine where the source of the evil is the strongest. If you can face your fear and make it to the end you may just survive.
