This is my sons '05 raptor 350
front of the engine seems to have a leak right above the exhaust... it looks like some kind of cover.. I havent seen it in person yet, my son is over at grandmas in lakeland for spring break with his quad.. and last night we dropped him and the machine  off and this morning he calls and said it was leaking..(it must have just started),, so he sends me these pictures..

i have the extended warrenty but just wanted a heads up on what it could be,, i wont be able to get it to the shop until i pick him up sunday,,, i told him to park it,,,

I believe it is the same motor as was in the warrior.

Oh and excuse the redish color,, It is that georgia clay is just does not want to come off Grin
Let me know what you guys think???

Is it a major leak or just seeping? Looks like its leaking from around the exhaust valve cover. I'd make sure the o-ring is still there and the mating surfaces are clean and the three allen bolts are tight. Might just need a new o-ring, unless somehow there is a crack. Check out that stuff, then if it still does it I'd take it to the dealer to check it out.

Yeah thats the cover for the exhaust rocker assembly, thats where you get access for valve adjustment.  There is a rubber oring in there, once its steated up well it should leak at all.  You can take th cover off and not worry about anything falling out, etc.

If it just startede leaking all of a sudden it could be that the bolts are loose. Tighten up the bolts then clean it up with some carb cleaner and let it run to see if still leaking. Others are right it is the cover for the exhaust rocker arm. Either way it should not leak. I have had mine off a few times to adjust the valvs and it does not leak, used the old O ring. Good luck.
