Dania Beach Motocross track to reopen Friday
Dania Motocross Park track, which closed in October when its occupational license expired, will reopen on Friday.

City commissioners voted 4 to 1 Tuesday night to allow the 12-acre park, near Interstate 95 and State Road 84, to reopen until September 2005. Vice Mayor Bob Mikes was the lone dissenting vote.

Owners plan to sell the property, which was rezoned four years ago for warehouses and other industrial-related businesses.

As city officials requested, track owners agreed to provide a $1 million general liability policy and retain a private ambulance company for races.
