OCALA NATIONAL FOREST
ORDER NO. 2006-020$.02
Pursuant to the authority set forth in Title. 36 of the Code of Federal Regulations ("CFR"), Sections 261.50(a) and (b), the following are prohibited within the following three described areas on the Ocala National Forest:
1. Possession or use of a registered veciele off designated National Forest System roads. 36 CFR 261.56.
2. Possion.or use of an off-highway vehicle off designated National Forest System trails. 36 CF'R 261.55.
The three areas are depicted on the attached map are described as follows:
Area 1 includes the NFS lands bounded by Silver Glen run, SR19, Forest Road (FR) 10, FR 65. SR 19, Marion County Road (CR) 314, FR 88, CR 316, Ocklawaha River, and Lake George.
Area 2 includes the National Forest System (NFS'') lands bounded by Lake County Road 42, Florida State Road (SR) 19, by Juniper Creek, and by the Saint John's River.
Area 3 includes the NFS lands bounded by SR 42, 182nd Avenue, SR 464, the Ocklawaha River, CR 316, FR 67, CR 314, FS 86, FS 79, FS 579, FS 88. to SR42.
"ATV" or all-terrain vehicle means any motorized off-highway or all-terrain vehicle 50 inches or less in width, having a dry weight of 900 pounds or less, designed to travel on three or more low-pressure tires. having a seat designed to be straddled by the operator and handlebars for steering control, and intended for use by a single operator with no passenger.
"OHM" or "off-highway motorcycle" means any motor vehicle used off the roads or highways of this state that has a seat or saddle for the use of the rider and is designed to travel with not more than two wheels in contact with the ground. but excludes a tractor or a mope.
"National Forest System road" means a forest road other than a road which has been authorized by a legally documented right-of-way held by a State, county, or other local public road authority. All designated roads have been posted with an official United Stales Forest Service ("USFS") sign, which depicts the type of vehicle use that is allowed on the road. Any road not posted in this fashion is closed to all types of vehicle use.
"National Forest System trail" means a forest trail other than a trail which has been authorized by a legal documented right-of-way held by a State,county, or other local public road authority. All designated motorized trails have been posted with an official USFS sign, which depicts the type of vehicle use that is allowed on the Trail. Any trail not posted in this fashion is closed to all types of vehicle use.
"Forest road or trail" m~ a road or trail wholly or partly within or adjacent to and serving the National Forest System that the Forest Service determines is necessary for the protection administration. and utilization of the National Forest System and the use and develpoment of its resources.
This Order is .effective from October 1, 2006 through October 1, 2011.
