I don't think that they'll ever seperate the areas for different activities. It becomes a matter of enforcing all those different areas, which they do not have the manpower to do. Just a tip, If you've  got to ride out there during General Gun Season, please wear the Blaze Orange that is required. Having worked out there for a long time, it sometimes amazes me what some of these guys shoot at. Heck, I'm a hunter, and I stay away from the Scrub during gun season. LOL. There I hope everyones happy, a post that's under 1000 words. Grin

P.S. I'd be down for a "fast" trail ride. I have races the next 3 weekends though... maybe sometime in August?

sorry chillen but 1 way trails are the safest way to go for everyone! if you and your family are riding at a slow pace and i come around a blind corner at 40mph, and hit you , you would be pissed! is it your fault for riding slow or my fault for riding fast? or could it have been avoided?

you could pick any of the answers ofcourse but IMO i say that it could have been avoided with a simple 1 way trail! you can bet that durhamtown has never had a head on collision, wonder why? i have been present for a head on at big scrub.

i know your gonna say that i should have slowed down for the blind corner...........why..........i like to ride fast! if i wanted to be cautious i would just drive my car all day.

this will never end because the forest, opinions and politics wont let it Cry

KEEP THIS IN MIND!
I WILL ALWAYS RIDE AS FAST AS I CAN FOR MY SURROUNDINGS!

THE ONLY PLACE that you will ever know how fast you can go is marked ONE WAY! thats why you race Chillen! i cant afford to race so i have to GET IT RAG where i can Wink

this was not a threat or an arguement for anyone! this was merely my thoughts.

there is a some what half way mediem if you would take the time to read and reply!

keep the trails 2 way, but every corner should have two lanes divided by trees or a pile of dirt, and everyone should stay to the right when going through the corners thus keeping you somewhat seperated through the corners. and mark all corners in advance with a directional arrow.

OR: two loops. A one-way and a two-way loop

This is the idea but at a much larger scale of course:

LOL. WE CAN EVEN DO THAT FOR THEM!!!!!

In reality, I seriously think they need more input from riders like Chillin, Dreth, T2 and myself!!!! We are a different breed but there are many of us out there and I think they are cutting us short....

ANYONE ELSE have any ideas?Huh?

Keep them coming.  As I mentioned, the North Trail system is already designed, but nothing is setup around the big Scrub area,  perhaps they will consider something in that area.  Keep posting, as everyone is watching and reading these posts.

Could we have Beginner/Family, Intermediate and Expert trails set up?  The Beginner/Family trails could be wide, 2-way trails with a 15 -20 mph speed limit while the intermediate and Expert trails are one-way, more technically challenging, with 30 mph and unlimited speed limits.

This way I can ride with my wife and family at 15 mph and turn around if I need to while the riders that like to go fast don't have to worry about hitting us as they come around a bend at 50 mph.  Many of the places that I hike, ski and ride out of state have trails set up by difficulty.

Even If they Set a Speed Limit How Do you plain on Enforcing It?
Most Quads DO Not Have a Speedo,Personaly I feel this whole thing is a bad idea Lets take 2000+ people and stickem all on one trail system i sure hope the state has a Good insurance policy and more than 1 helicopter on call

I also read on another thread that if you wanna Ride fast you got the motorcross track.....
What kind of statement is that?
That would be like me sayin if you wanna ride slow and with you family Build a Loop around your Zero lot line House and ride there....

I doubt it will be a 2000 at once but I agree with you anyways. And about the person's comment about motocross: These people don't believe there is a big crowd of ATV enthusiasts that prefer riding trails at a higher rate of speed than normal. They are the ones making decisions over there and we have to try to enlighten them.

GRIZZ: hope you’re listening.......

You would not be able to enforce the speed limit. People would have to self enforce it.  I think that if someone was on a trail with a speed limit they would be more careful knowing that most riders on that trial are families with kids going slow and since there are other more technical trails set up for them to go fast, they would stay on them.  Most other parks have trails with different designations and it seems to work for them.

It is nice to see so many other riders with common sense!!!
