What bike to choose?
«

I need to buy a bike for my 8yr old boy. I am leaning towards the honda trx 90 but I am a little worried about the 12 yrs and older age limit this bike has. But I think the 50's would be to small for him. You guys that have mini's for your kids, is the 50 cc bikes to slow or is that the right bike for an 8yr old? Or just get the 90 and turn the throttle down till he learns to handle the bike. I also like the polaris 90 also.
I appreciate any advice. Thanks

Honda 90 if he has basic controll of the quad.
I was riding a grizzly 660 at 14 and never felt over my head in any situation.. Some people got it, some people dont.

We have Apex Quads ours are race bikes but Apex builds one of the safest quads out the Pro Shark. More features than any other mini at a great price. My daugter is 7 and we race MX and flat track and when people see our quads they want one. You can ck them out at

these quads have been in Dirtwheels, atv ill and 2 other atv mags. Check them out before making a decision. Thanks

The LT80 is a great bike but the suspension is not that good. The same with the Raptor 80 good bike bad suspension. If I had my pick I would go with the Apex pro shark they offer a 70,90,or100. The suspension is dual a arm ,liquid cooled this bike has alot of features at a great price.

I have heard nothing but good stuff about the Apex. That would probably be your best bet.

My buddy just got a kfx50 for his stepson and it is AWFUL!!!! It has absolutely no power, and he is a skinny 7yr old. It doesn't even have enough power to ride around through the eureka pit. When it gets in deep sand with just a little bit of an incline it just sits there and grunts but won't move. Also it's suspension looks like they just welded the a-arms to the frame by the way the things bucks and bounces around. even on small bumps the thing comes off the ground and throws the kid all over the place. It also has no electric start either. stay far, far, far away from the kfx50!!!!

I just picked up a new trx 90 at ARS powersports. They gave me a great deal. I saved over 700 dollars from what local dealers wanted to charge me here in Davie. If you want a new bike go see Amber at ARS. I was out of there in under 30 minutes no B.S. just straight numbers and no over charges. One of the best purchase experiences I have had. Thanks everyone for your suggestions.

Go with a kymco 90. The boy is 12 years old and he is gonna grow out of the bike real soon. Its probably the best bike you can get without spending a lot of money.
