Folks, I would like to have a "Get together" on Saturday 6/17. We would meet at the Collier County Government Center at around 10:00 am, then from there drive into the picayune forest for some lunch, bbq and a good time. We cannot let this issue die. Now SFWMD has said it might be 6 months to a year before we can ride. I'm sure once the year is up, it will be another 6 months to a year. No more.
The Address to the Collier county Gov. center is 3310 E. Tamiami Trail

I will be taking my atv on the trailer and a video camera just in case there's any trouble, I want to have a video of it.....Please post here if you are planning to attend.

See if you can contact a newspaper or TV station for your protest.

I have not called the media yet because im afraid of a poor turnout. I did call them and told them about SFWMD proposal, that to me is not acceptable. We want to do this next Saturday the 17th, because on the 20th the commissioners meet...come on Folks, this is your sport, your lands.

I am not the most educated person on here but I thought the court mandated them to give us badluck or another place... if I go to the court house (just for my record) can't I get a copy of the court order?  Also isn't there penalties for not adhering to the court order?  If so I wonder who we talk to in order to inforce it.  I realize yall have already thought about all this and if it was this easy it would be over.  I guess I am just venting.

I think you are a little confused. It was not the courts, I wish. It was the Collier county commissioners who said this, unfortunately, they do not own the LAND inside the picayune forest. At one time ,they used to own the ROADS inside the forest. What the commission said was that if we did not have a place to ride in 60 days, then they (the commissioners) would let us ride on the roads.

Well, I can tell you that our state representative here in Collier County is MIKE DAVIS and he even introduced a budget ammendment to give the 38 milliom dollars BACK to the feds but it did not pass. I can tell you that mike is working full time for us on these issues. Unfortunately big whels are slow to turn and if we dont scream and howler and get organized, then there even less pressure to do anything..

You are right - if you don't scream and holler nobody hears you. I know it has been mentioned on this site before - but the ATV world should think about getting organized before you lose all your riding areas. Can you get blue ribbon coalition behind you?
