How to fix the Croom problems

Help is needed here. The man in charge in this area gave a talk on his area and spoke about the fact that he had no money for maintenance and that he was having problems with safety because they could not get any rescue vehicles in to areas to get the injured out (no money to maintain the trails.
Here is the kicker. Croom takes in about $700,000 per year in revenue from the $50 fees, but the money goes into the general fund and his buget for everything is less then $180,000
Everyone needs to get hold of their state legislators and start complaining. The session is basically over for this year, but if we start on them now, maybe they will get the money for next year.
This is probably happening in other places as well.
We are going to have to accept paying user fees, we just need to be assured that if we pay them, they will be used for the correct purpose.

14,000 riders are paying $700,000 to ride? Only $180,000 of goes to maintenance of what? Give me the $180,000. I'll lease or buy a tractor to grate the trails, pickup/empty trash cans and hire an investigator to see who's stealing the $520,000. Sheesh!

I didn't say maintenance. The man admitted they had done none. The money goes for staff and equipment.

Staff, i'd say around 100,000 a year, since not that many wok there on a daily basis, maybe a tad more.
Equipement, 10,000 at MOST, everytime I go I see the same old chevy's and dodges that they drive in, not much being spent here.
This is garbage!!!!!!!!!! The state legislature needs to bump up the funds!!!!!!!
If the park pulls in 700,000 and only gets 180,000, were is the rest going??
So the park recieves 3/8th's of their profit made that most probably is the biggest contributing factor of all the Florida state parks. Bu$$hi*!!!!!

This needs to be on the First page, especially when you look at the other post about the accident at Croom

Croom probably has to share its profits with other state forests, I think that I heard that somewhere, but I'm not positive, and may be wrong.

The Forest Representative said that the change needs to come from the legislature. Find out who your state senator and representative are and email or call them.
