At what age did you let your kids start riding dirtbikes/4 wheelers. Talking to parents at local mx tracks, I'm hearing as early as 3yrs old!! My son will be 2yrs at the end of the month.
thx, Mark

Both of my sons started at 5 years of age. PW50 and one on a PW80. They do have undeveloped brain matter when it comes to when to hit the brakes or not. Dress them up in the right gear.

I started at about age 7 or so, and I got my daughter her first real quad that she won't ride at age 5.
she was having a blast on it at ONF one time though.

We bought our son a PW50 for his 3rd birthday. It had training wheels and he did pretty good. He wrecked it one day and would not get back on it without one of us so we traded it in for a 4 wheeler. He has been riding 4 wheelers ever since then and he is 7 now.

My son was 5 - just started this past Christmas on a 50 Kazuma - already need to get him something bigger.
Don't make the same mistake I made - My son never had interest in a bicycle and still dosen't. We have tried to teach him to ride one since he was 3 he wanted nothing to do with it. Now that he knows its time to get him something bigger he wants to try a dirt bike vs the quad. Bad thing is he never learned the balance he needed from riding a bicycle so i really don't think he can handle the dirt bike. He looks at us now and pretty much says " I'm a quad rider what do I need a bike for". Now we are trying teaching him to ride the bike and he is so afraid of falling but put him on his quad and he has NO FEAR!!

I am still terrified every time he rides - just wait until she see's him fall (it will happen ) Mine flipped his right in front of me and I mean flipped it hard. Chipped the helmet (thank god he ALWAYS wears it) I was more scared than he was - he told me "I'm ok mommy" !

my daughter stated when she was 3 and by the time she was 5 she was dragracing and she was kicking ALL the boys a$$ , she was riding a yamhama 60,ported and everthing do to it , you can get your son a small quad now and start letting him ride just get a kill switch that you can pull if he goes to fast, or get it were you can adjust the throttle for his speed
