When we got into lower land the pine trees gave way to the cypress and the trail was full of mud holes.
Breaktime along the trail, note the water holes behind us:

Hey Keeter, Tell Mike that I'm really sorry about the mud. I didn't realize he was so close to me and the mud was a little deep there. It must had of ruined that white shirt he had on. MuddingMark

Nice pics! Looks like you had a great time. How far north of the end of the rock road did you go? Did you make it to the praries? Beautiful out there.

We sure did have a good time in Big Cypress. It was nice to meet you Mark and Keeter. I look forward to riding with you all again. I have to say though that Keeter was the man out there. He was prepared and brought the things we needed to fix two of the quads that broke down on the trails. We will have to plan another ride sometime soon before it dries up completely. The pics look good and I'll have to get Durkan to post some more.

Actually we ended up taking a trail off the rock road that had miles and miles of mud and water holes. It was a great trail. It went north for 4 to 5 miles. It ran into another trail that we took to the west which ran into the prairies your talking about. We found the end of the rock road and took it back to camp. I really can't believe that the park service is putting those rock roads in. There terrible and are more of an eye sore than anything else. If they at least flattend them a little bit maybe it would be better.

yep we had a good time out there. The only thing is those rocks are murder. other than that it was alot of fun. MuddingMark was kind enough to rooster up enough mud to cover and smother me but i lived. Couple of the bikes were not running right, plus we were exhausted so we left earlier than expected. We have to plan another trip soon.

Yuppers, my quad was one not running right. Having to pull start the whole trip as the battery was dead. But had a great time none the less. We definatly have to plan another one soon.

Can you use the 50 dollar permit for Croom too? Anywhere else?

I believe that the BICY permit is only good in the Big Cypress. MuddingMark

I got my Gators yesterday. I am ready for the next ride. Just a day trip, the snoring of Durkan and innocent_bystander was too much. We can hit Concho, that should be perfect for the day.
