1  General / Tech Corner / Re: ATV will run but not rev up on: July 24, 2011, 03:32:16 PM
Ride1Rob,

Thanks for the help. That was the issue. I pulled the jet and you could not see through it. Cleaned it out. It is running about 95%. Good enough to take him to L Cross next weekend and let him ride around. I will have to do a good cleaning once we give it a good ride. Thanks for the help. I really appreciate it and so does the kid. He was so happy when it worked.

2  General / Tech Corner / ATV will run but not rev up on: July 23, 2011, 08:34:17 PM
All,

My son has a 90 Eton. It starts right up but when you give it some throttle is boggs down. The fuel is fresh, checked the flow of fuel before and after the filter and it was the same. Sometimes it runs right and sometimes it does not. It seems to be getting worse. Can it be electrical? Maybe I need to clean the carb again? I just did that a few weeks ago. Can the fuel junk it up it that short period of time? New spark plug. What do you all think? Any advise will help. It is the same fuel in my ATV and no issues there.

Thanks for your help.

3  General / Tech Corner / Re: Carb question on: October 08, 2010, 01:07:22 PM
Thanks for your help. I started it and let it run for a long time slowly opening the choke. I would get to one point and it would stop. I then thought maybe it was the idle. Because it did not seem to idle correctly. I turned the plastic star thing two turns. Started it up and it worked fine on choke fully open. I am thinking maybe one of the kids saw the plastic star thing and turned it. I have started it two times since and it worked fine. I will need to try it again and take it out for a long run and add in new fuel.
4  General / Tech Corner / Coil question on: October 08, 2010, 11:33:23 AM
I am trying to help out a friend. He has a Kawasaki Mule 500. It will start up and run for a few minutes. Once you put a load on it it will run rough and cut out. It is run longer at idle. It is not fuel related, it is electrical. We know because there was no spark afterwards. We are 85% sure it is the coil. But there is something called an igniter. Does anyone know what this is? We think once the engine starts the igniter does not play a role in anything. Can anyone help? We are thinking the coil gets hot and does not produce a spark. Once it sits for sometime it will start up and do the samething.

5  General / Tech Corner / Carb question on: June 05, 2010, 04:31:35 PM
I let me Suzuki eager sit for a month or two with out starting it. When I did start it, I could not open the choke fully without it stalling. It used to started right up at fully choke. I never had to choke it before. Only 750 miles on it. Now a few months later and starting it every month, I can only open it about 2/3 of the way. Do you think the carb is gunked up? If so, how do I clean the carb. Just open it up and clean it with carb cleaner? Any help would be great.  Cry Cry Cry I can only be mad at myself for not starting it every month like I used to do.
6  General / Open Discussion / Big Cypress water level on: May 06, 2010, 01:12:36 PM
Does anyone know how the water level is there? I have not been a few months. Wanted to take the kid for a ride.
7  General / Open Discussion / Re: Can someone help answer this (Holey Land, Everglades) on: June 18, 2009, 11:35:51 AM
Sorry, let me clarify. I can ride out there to Scout only and not ride for fun. I understand that. I wanted to make sure I had my dates correct and an understanding of the rules. My "riding" is strictly for hunting purposes whether it is for scouting or getting to my spot. The problem with hunting out there is guys put their trailers and tents under the poles and claim that as their spot so you have to "ride" out to get to a spot far away from their "marked" territory. I understand you can not ride out there under the loop hole. I am not. I just want to make sure I am doing things the right way for hunting purposes only.
8  General / Open Discussion / Can someone help answer this (Holey Land, Everglades) on: June 15, 2009, 04:23:42 PM
OK, I read the FWC Holey Lands Regulation Summary and I have some questions. You are allowed to scout on an ATV two weeks before Archery season and one week before muzzleloading and general gun. So Archery starts on August 29th so I guess we can ride out there from August 15th through August 28th. Muzzleloading starts October 3rd so we can ride out there from September 26th through October 2nd. Am I reading this correctly? Do you need to have a hunting license do do this? It does not state that. I do have a license. Of course I will have my binoculars with me.

Also, you can use your ATV during Hunting season but for hunting only??? I guess you can to get out to your spot. You better have a license and the right equipment for the season they are in.

I want to make sure I fully understand the rules before going out there.

9  General / Where to Ride? / Re: holey lands newspaper article?? on: June 03, 2009, 01:30:17 PM
Not sure where i saw it but is stated that the holey lands was reopened for traffic and boat use (I am sure Sun Sentinel). It was closed because it was so dry and with all the rain they reopened it. Sorry it had nothing to do wit ATV riding.

10  General / Tech Corner / Re: 2007 eiger manual trans funky issue when wet on: May 09, 2009, 12:36:36 PM
I have an automatic EIGER. When it gets really wet the belt slips. I have had water go down my vent pipe that is under my seat into the belt area. I would check all those connections to make sure there is no way water can get in. I have to run it if it gets wet and if it is bad I have to let is dry out a little. It could be that or the belt getting old and jumping teeth when wet. Sorry I know nothing about clutches. I would think if it works when dry then it would not be the clutch. Not sure. How many mile or hours on it? Hope this helps. Just me experience with mine.

What happened?
12  General / Open Discussion / Re: ATV GUYZ in Davie on: April 30, 2009, 03:15:44 PM
I bought my ATV from them. He gave me several options of ATVs. Had a good selection. I did a lot of looking around before buying from him. I think I got a fair deal. He did not steal from me and I did not steal from him. I paid 400.00 more then what I wanted but I felt the ATV I was buying from him was worth it because of the extras. Like ITP tires, rear Passanger seat, and low miles. I have had it for 2 years and everything he told me was true.

Hope this helps.
13  General / Where to Ride? / Re: atv rule change on: March 27, 2009, 04:08:44 PM
Thanks AintSkeered. I did not take as if you were saying I was angry. I understood what you were writing and completely agree with you. There is a right way and a wrong way to do things. Was just letting you know I was trying the right way.
My son and I need a closer place to the house to ride. Two hour trips are not fun. It used to take us 40 minutes from the door to the parking area.
I also understand and completely agree as to why the Holey lands area was closed. It was getting crazy out there. But, if we do things the right way and approach it with a solution, and not with another problem, hopefully we can get a riding spot back. I serious doubt it, but is worth a try. If you do not try to make a difference, then you do not have the right to complain. Just my two cents.
14  General / Where to Ride? / Re: atv rule change on: March 27, 2009, 01:32:49 PM
That is exactly what I wrote to them. I explained about charging a fee, self patrols, clean up groups, and working with the riders to make it a better place. I did not express anger. I was used examples to show how we can ride and still preserve the land.
15  General / Where to Ride? / Re: atv rule change on: March 26, 2009, 01:59:46 PM
I sent mine in. Asking for a place to ride in Broward. GOOD LUCK. Maybe I should ask to win the lottery. I might have better luck with that one.
16  General / Open Discussion / Re: Camo Wrap on: March 22, 2009, 12:15:02 PM
I tried to do my sons ATV and it did not work out that good. I found it hard to get the ATV covered with the pieces I was sent. To do it right you have to have a lot of waste of the product. I did add some camo wrap to the fenders just to use what I had and they are holding up nicely. If you spend the time and money you can get anything to look really good with a wrap. you just have to invest the time.

17  General / Open Discussion / ATVers get credit for something on: March 12, 2009, 04:05:34 PM
Last night on WSVN Miami/Fort Lauderdale there was a story about a fire on Krome ave. The news broadcaster said that ATV riders were credited for helping put out the fire because of the trails they made in the woods acted like fire breaks and the fire could not spread.

But then they were wondering who started the fire and stated if it was arson they will try and find the person. Hope it was not a ATV rider. It was just weird how she said it.

I read all the articles but nowhere did they meantion the help of the ATV riders.

At least we got credit for someting from the news but not from the fire or government officials
18  General / Open Discussion / Re: Corbett on: March 10, 2009, 02:50:43 PM
I thought you could not ride ATVs out there? Undecided Undecided I looked it up on the FWC website and looked at the 2009 management area booklet. Maybe you know something I do not know.
19  General / Open Discussion / Riding south of Max's fish camp on: February 10, 2009, 11:23:44 AM
Has anyone been riding on the south side of Krome by Max's fish camp? Is it legal to ride there?
20  General / Tech Corner / Re: 2007 Rancher stalls on: February 09, 2009, 11:38:40 AM
Drain the Carb. I had a friend with the same atv and the same problem. Once we drained the carb a few times it worked just fine. Did you get it submerged in mud?

23  General / Open Discussion / Re: E-Ton 2005 Viper 90R on: December 18, 2008, 12:03:19 PM
I have a 2001 90 ETON for my son. They are great for the money. Here is a link that I use for parts http://www.etonparts.com/. It is hard to find an ETON dealer. Not every place can get the parts. Parts do take sometime. There is a guy in Davie FL that is a dealer (if anything major happens). I see that you are in Naples. About 1.5 hour drive. This site also sells manuals.
24  General / Open Discussion / Re: title question? on: December 09, 2008, 02:27:09 PM
TRX450R_Racer is right. You need page 10 from the link he added. I just went through this last week on my sons 2001. I have been trying to get it titled since May. I have the cert or origin. I called and they told me what I needed and it worked the forth time I tried. If you bring everyhting that is required and they tell you you can not title it ask them to call their helpdesk to inform them of the proper steps. Some of these employee do not deal with ATVs all the time and they do not know all the rules to get a new title. GOOD LUCK.
25  General / Open Discussion / LCross last weekend on: November 27, 2008, 02:10:26 PM
I went to LCross family weekend and had a great time. It was my first time and I brought along others from our Tackle Football program. The other guys stayed over Saturday night and they had a blast. I went up on Sunday and got there at 7:30 (colder then sh*t) and we rode until about 2:30. We had to get back home by 5:00. It took me about two hours from Pembroke Pines. Everyone was nice and respectfull (I was with my 6 year old). Had a great time and I will go back. It is the nearest legal place I know to ride except Big Cypress (Where I also go) but my son can not ride at BC.

Good job LCross.

If I can add one thing. I missed the LCross sign the first time. Maybe a bigger sign. But Honestly, I was distracted by my son asking me every 10 seconds "when are we going to get there".
