1  General / Where to Ride? / coyote mud? on: October 24, 2012, 11:58:04 PM
Coyote Mud?  Anyone been there yet?  It's in Astatula and I heard about it via a friend who had not been there.
2  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Lake Oklawaka RV park on: August 07, 2012, 12:51:01 AM
As far as variety and trails length.  Oklawaha RV Park has it all.  You access the Delancey North section of the trails in the northwest corner of the Forest in the Hog Valley area.  From there, if you have enough fuel, you can ride all the way down to Salt Springs Connector, walk across the road and grab lunch at the diner or the little pizza/grocery store.

We do this most of the time for our Saturday ride and it is very cool.  Then on Sunday we usually head to the dam or the purple trails.

Oklawaha is great to ride out from.  We have done it a couple times now.  They don't allow tent campers, but for RV's it is terrific!

A group of us are going to Delancey this weekend.  We plan to stay at this RV park:

http://www.lakeoklawaharvpark.com/index.html

You can ride your ATV/OHV from your RV site to the ONF Trail System.  We will be riding Saturday, Sunday, and possibly part of Monday.

Get a hold of me if you want a 'guided' tour.  We plan on riding all of the trails, going into Salt Springs and eating at least once, and hitting the 88 store at least once.
5  General / Where to Ride? / Re: ONF on: September 08, 2011, 12:09:09 AM
We rode at Delancey on Saturday.  The two new trails are pretty nice.  I agree, the 88 trail is great, but not having gas cans at the station kind of defeats the purpose.  Almost makes a guy want to drop off his cans at the station prior to riding around, but even that is silly.

We really liked the Salt Springs Connector trail.  We parked, walked across the street and had some lunch at the restaurant.  Decent burgers and COLD drinks were not the usual ATV ride lunch for sure.

Looking forward to going back more often as the temps drop a bit.

Mine doesn't seem to show or highlight 'new posts' in topics anymore?
7  General / Open Discussion / Re: Assault Rifles on: August 29, 2010, 11:06:26 PM
Myself and several of my friends have the Sig 556.  For reliability, you can't beat it.  In fact the NRA just did an article a few months back where they buried the loaded gun in a mudhole for, I think, 24 hours, pulled it out and shot over 300 rounds through it with no FTF's, no jams and no affect on accuracy, etc.

I heard a rumor someone on GunBroker in NY was selling several new ones for $1000 + shipping which is about $500 cheaper than normal.

I have had mine for almost a year now and gone through over 1,000 rounds with no problems.

We use the GoPro's and have for almost (3) years now.  Liked them so much I became a dealer for them.  One thing I think the GoPro does 5x better than any other is the sound.  A great picture is obviously critical, but I don't think there is a camera out there that can match the sound ability that the GoPro has.

In the coming months there will be an attachable LCD screen, as well as a few other new things.

The new lower definition HD Camera is coming out as well.  The HD 960 is a step below the 1080P current HD camera. It has a lower price point of $179 retail. It is still a 5 megapixel HD camera, it only has the 720P @ 30fps and the 960P @ 30 fps, so it doesn't have the 720 @ 60 fps or the 1080P resolution modes. Also, the 960 will not have the HERO Bus expansion port in the rear of the camera to add an extra battery or the LCD screen which will be available later this year. In short, it is more of an entry level HD wearable camera.

We have TONS of footage of both ATV'ing and Kart Racing with the HD model and it is incredible.  Contact me if you're interested, maybe we can make a deal.
9  General / Group Rides & Events / Going to DurhamTown in June on: May 12, 2010, 09:47:02 PM

What's the price Paul?  The usual $30?  Thanks!
11  General / Open Discussion / Re: Ocala forest OHV Jamboree on: November 14, 2009, 07:53:43 PM
Let me know when, I can probably round up a few people who wont whine.  Of course, they are directionally challenged though, so we have to make sure we give them maps if we are not going to stop occasionally and wait for them...  LOL!
12  General / Open Discussion / Re: Ocala forest OHV Jamboree on: November 14, 2009, 12:38:34 PM
They did...

And they do.  Trails have been very smooth almost every time out this year.  Even some of the really tight trails (purple).

15  General / Racing Scene / Re: 2009 SouthEast Raptor Rally on: October 31, 2009, 12:14:27 AM
It's only 1 week away!!!  Come ride one more time, now that the temps are down and the holidays are just around the corner!
16  General / Racing Scene / Re: 2009 SouthEast Raptor Rally on: October 20, 2009, 02:12:44 PM
Anyone else planning on coming?!

You don't have to have a Raptor to come join the fun.  Just bring your gear, bring your common sense and let's ride!
17  General / Open Discussion / Re: Anyone up for a November Croom ride? on: October 14, 2009, 11:45:17 PM
NYRAPTOR you should consider coming to the 2009 SouthEast Raptor Rally at the MotoPlex.  It's being held Nov. 6th-8th.  $30/person for the weekend.
18  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: 2009 SouthEast Raptor Rally November 6th-8th at Florida MotoPlex!!! on: September 30, 2009, 07:54:16 PM
This is just around the corner.  Anyone else planning on coming?

That would be awesome Paul.  Look forward to hearing when!
20  General / Open Discussion / Re: Hunting Season on: September 30, 2009, 07:51:40 PM
One of our usual hunting spots has become home to an albino fawn this year.  It's a breathtaking sight to see a pure white deer up close.  I hope no one shoots it, but it's probably wishful thinking...
21  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Who Came to DP this weekend??? on: September 08, 2009, 11:39:21 PM
Lauren,

We were there (we traveled up with a group of (11) of us).  I saw you several times, but was too shy to say, 'Hi!'.  Not to mention you looked pretty busy.  We stayed at Site #82 if that means anything.

It was our first time, but we will be back for sure.
22  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Durhamtown Plantation on: September 08, 2009, 11:37:09 PM
Durhamtown was awesome.  The staff was helpful, the trails were incredible and the whole place was very well organized.  Rode all day Saturday and did the Poker Run.  Won lots of prizes and paid for itself many times over.

Sunday we took advantage of the skeet range, then went down to the rifle range and sighted in the new SiG 556.  Went fishing later in the day and relaxed.

Next up on the schedule is the RaptorRally Nov. 6th-8th at the MotoPlex!

We are bringing a group of 10-12 up for Labor Day.  See you there!
25  General / Where to Ride? / Re: onf a little pricey to ride ? on: September 02, 2009, 08:18:24 PM
You could just do the $75 Annual pass and then ride to your hearts content.
