1  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: Redneck Yacht Club.... How is it? on: November 07, 2011, 10:45:20 AM
Anyone heading out there this weekend? I think today is the last day to get tickets on line. I may head down.
2  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: Pumpkin Run 41st Annual on: November 01, 2011, 11:18:40 AM
Had a good time running the trails, didn't break anything but had a tire that wouldn't hold air so I didn't run at night. My son had a great time at his first big mud event.

10  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: Pumpkin Run 41st Annual on: October 24, 2011, 07:52:20 PM
What time do the gates open Saturday AM?
11  General / Where to Ride? / Re: 5a on: April 16, 2008, 07:37:16 PM
Its going to make them well aware of how the place is being ruined by trash/garbage being left there and start them handing out parking and tresspassing tickets at the very least. I have to admit, before the internet very few people knew about 5A and it was only locals that knew.......we kept it clean. I and others would rather see it closed down to keep the area from being ruined. Its private property anyway, its NOT a LEGAL riding spot period unless you have permission from the owners "I have a letter".

So you want everyone out except you because you have a letter from the owners and your a medic and know some cops? I agree with the rednecks ruining the place but what your proposing is a little unfair. It may be private property but it's not your private property.

I was there 3 weekends ago, was pretty crowded in the afternoon.
13  General / Where to Ride? / Changes at Big Scrub on: April 02, 2008, 09:20:35 PM
Don't know if anyone else read this........

The Ocala National Forest is beginning implementation on the new trail and road system in the central portion of the Forest. This marks the completion of the route designation process for the entire Ocala National Forest. Implementation of this system means that all roads and trails will be closed unless signed open.

Forest Service employees will be marking motorized trails, posting road signs and creating new trailheads. Immediate plans call for marking 47 new miles of slow speed (less than 20 miles per hour), off-highway vehicle (OHV) trail and one trailhead south of State Road 40.

This decision will change many of the current riding areas in the central portion of the Forest. Forest visitors will no longer be able to ride OHVs on the powerline road (old Forest Road #573/new Forest Road #14) south of the Big Scrub Campground. All future trails will be designated north Big Scrub Campground.

“Implementation will be very challenging in this area of the Forest,” said District Ranger Rick Lint. “We are working hard to create a trail system that protects resources while providing a riding experience that will educate the public about the unique scrub ecosystem.”

In July, visitors will be able to get maps and information about new trail locations and parking from the local district offices, visitor centers and the website. By July, users riding in areas not designated will receive warnings and information from Forest Service personnel about where to ride.

“This summer and fall we will be educating people riding in the central portion of the Forest,” said Recreation Manager Bret Bush.

Soon all rules, regulations and fees will be the same for all motorized trails across the entire Ocala National Forest. Also new state laws take effect July 1, 2008 that pertain to children under 16, noise limits, and double riding in addition to the existing titling requirement.

“There are a lot of changes regarding roads and trails occurring on the Ocala National Forest,” said Lint. “We encourage people to contact us before they head to the trails if they have any questions about the new trail system and changes to the rules.”

For more information contact the Lake George Ranger District at (352) 625-2520 or the Seminole Ranger District at (352) 663-3153 or visit www.fs.fed.us/r8/florida.

15  General / Where to Ride? / Re: ATV Safety Course Starting April 14th. NOW WE HAVE A SCHEDULE on: March 29, 2008, 06:15:24 PM
I''l just call to make the appointment and tell them he is 12, then the course will be free also.
16  General / Where to Ride? / Re: ATV Safety Course Starting April 14th. NOW WE HAVE A SCHEDULE on: March 27, 2008, 10:07:53 PM
Are there any ATVs for rent at this class?  I have an 8 year old that rides a 90cc and was told he can't take the class unless he has a 50cc.
17  General / Where to Ride? / 50cc ATV on: March 26, 2008, 04:11:15 PM
I am trying to get my son in  safety course at Salt Springs in April (5th or 19th) but since he is big for his age I bought him a 90cc quad. I find out that they will not let him take the course on the 90 and since he won't be useing "HIS" new bike I have to pay the $75 fee. So basically I need to know where I can beg, borrow, or steal a 50cc quad for the course.

19  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Any riding around Deland/Orange City? on: March 21, 2008, 10:18:06 PM
I think I'll head to Big Scrub too with my son. Do you need reservations to camp and do they have showers there?
20  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Any riding around Deland/Orange City? on: March 21, 2008, 06:31:29 PM
That will be another place closed down,  Sad 520 & 50 was shut down the other week. Honestly ya can't blame them, I saw a few people driving with a beer in one hand and a kid on the back. Angry And they will be the first to whine.

22  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Any riding around Deland/Orange City? on: March 18, 2008, 11:09:46 PM
I was there on Sunday for the first time, parked on "Stuckey Road", there was a ton of people and lots of No Tresspass signs but no one pays them no mind. I'll be heading out there this weekend again it was a good time.
23  General / Tech Corner / Re: 06 Arctic Cat 400 on: March 17, 2008, 10:43:19 PM
Checked the air box and it was dry, air filter was clean, oil was good. What does CDI stand for? Rode around the yard and it was hesitating and backfiring alot then it seemed to gain power back and was running good. Is it possible that there was an obstruction in the muffler/exhaust?
24  General / Tech Corner / 06 Arctic Cat 400 on: March 17, 2008, 03:35:50 PM
I went ridin yesterday and got into some deep water..like the whole back of the quad under water deep...got out and ride for about 2-3 hours, then all of a sudden I hit the throttle and it revs then drops off and starts to backfire. does this for 10 minutes then stalls, start it back up and it takes off like nothing happened, ride about 1 1/2 hours more and it starts doing it again. Any ideas....Thanks.
