1  General / Tech Corner / '05 Yamaha Rhino Shop Manual on: January 02, 2013, 12:03:00 PM
Does anyone have a shop manual for a 2005 Yamaha 660 Rhino? I have a friend that needs some work and need a manual to check a couple of systems. Thanks in advance, Richard
2  General / Tech Corner / Service Manuals on: August 03, 2011, 07:10:04 AM
Has anyone posted a service manual for an '04 Polaris 3300 Magnum 4x4 on the forum?
Or, can you steer me in the low cost (FREE) direction?
Thanks in advance.

Alrighty then, I was down for the TT races and was able to shoot a few pictures from different spots on the track. Something like 88 pictures that I edited to put up. I have a bunch more should some one that was at the track want any.

4  General / Racing Scene / Re: Open Practice/Painting at T-Bowl on Sept 4, 10:00-5:00, $20.00 on: August 30, 2010, 09:59:35 AM
For those that didn't get to T-Bowl workday, here is a summary of what is happening.
The grounds have been mowed (bush-hogged), the infield of the track and the TT track has been mowed. Bill was box blading the the track and it was being packed with a roller pulled by the track tractor. I know why it seemed like RD was all over the track with it; it has a lot of play in the steering and does not like to be turned right. Very hard to steer to the right (hydraulics may have something to do with it). The back straight is smooth. Trying to get the turn 3 hole filled in and the jump on turn 4 exit is noticeably smaller. There are 2 rain ruts in the middle of 1 that are coming along. Overal, things are shaping up nicely. I had forgotten how tough coastal bermuda grass is (hay grass). It was taking over the track and had covered the TT track. The grass was knee deep or deeper in some parts of the pits. I believe by Saturday that things will be shaping up. A good time to get some seat time before the 11th.
5  General / Racing Scene / Re: Pratice at Thunderbowl; Sunday March 21, 2010 on: March 20, 2010, 08:43:32 PM
Linda, told me that she has been working the track. Well, maybe not her but her guys. I'm going to get there as early as possible. I want to be there no later than 10 am.
6  General / Racing Scene / Re: Pratice at Thunderbowl; Sunday March 21, 2010 on: March 20, 2010, 08:02:21 AM
So, how many plan to show up tomorrow?
Dave, I'm going to take some different shocks to try. You can try the ones on my bike and see if they work for you.
7  General / Racing Scene / Re: Pratice at Thunderbowl; Sunday March 21, 2010 on: March 12, 2010, 02:00:43 PM
Well, that just deflated my sails. Well, how about you guys coming to practice anyway? I want to try the shocks with the softer springs and change the fork settings. One thing at a time so I know what is working and not working. Plus, I may have a 19 inch rim and tire I'm going to adapt to it. I want to try some of the softer compounds out there.
8  General / Racing Scene / Re: Pratice at Thunderbowl; Sunday March 21, 2010 on: March 11, 2010, 09:39:53 PM
OK, here are the particulars. Linda has informed me that the riders that pay for practice will get a free hamburger or hot dog, with all the fixins', or both. She will get the track together so it should be in better shape than it has been. I will find out what kind of shape it is in before the 21st and if need be I'll go down and prep it.

For all you tt riders, here is your chance to get some time in with the flat-trackers. Everyone will get the seat time they want. Gate will open at 11am and we will be shutting it down before sundown.

Nate, how about you and Chuck bringing some Speedway bikes!

I'm trying to get a practice event going for 21 March. I'm working on particulars right now and should have more info up tonight. The track will be prepped and should be a good day for tuning and practice. If anyone is interested we might be getting the TT track prepped too, just depends on how many riders want to come out and play. Anyway, I'm working on setting this, so, if you'd like to come out and get sideways email me at stgsali@bellsouth.net. I'd like to see 15 to 20 riders out there!.
Happy St. Patty's Day!
Richard.
11  General / Racing Scene / Re: SDTA 2010 FLAT TRACK POINTS SERIES STANDINGS R2 on: February 23, 2010, 09:54:24 PM
Load it with the 400 or 600 pixel width. Then you will be able to read it.
600 pixel width.on photobucket is bare minimum for legibility. By doing for width the height will follow as long as you have the contrained box checked.
12  General / Racing Scene / Re: Last night's Jasper race on: February 09, 2010, 07:25:33 AM
I wish I could have been there. When finances allow it I will be back. Hopefully it won't be to late.

That's probably why more people don't show up, not just the quads. Maybe starting with T-bowl more begin to show up!

If I had to guess on the big part, Nate or me would get that asterisk! Grin
15  General / Racing Scene / Re: SDTA FLAT TRACK POINTS SERIES ROUND 1/CROSS ROADS MOTORPLEX, JASPER on: January 31, 2010, 02:11:39 PM
whereas those of us riding a motorcycle, have a tougher time riding in the soup.

Scott, that may have been a poor choice of words. It was not meant to offend any quad riders. My point is/was that with 2 extra wheels you quad guys have an advantage over the motorcycles. Riding in the soup quick can be a hair raising ride, as I'm sure most of the motorcycle contingent will agree. I did not try to put down any one person or group of people for what they ride or not ride.
And I have ridden from 2 to 4 wheels and think that 3 wheels is tougher than than any of the others.

Richard.
16  General / Racing Scene / Re: SDTA FLAT TRACK POINTS SERIES ROUND 1/CROSS ROADS MOTORPLEX, JASPER on: January 31, 2010, 08:43:38 AM
In my opinion, if you're going to ask people to buy into the Association's series to be able to compete for the championship and for trophy's at each event, then I think everyone that joins should be able to voice an opinion. If you want the kind of feedback yuou are looking for, Shawn, why not set up a formal meeting for the people that have joined the Association, to bounce ideas and possibly make a series that is for all competitors and fans alike. I, like you donated my time and knowledge to make SDTA have a look of professionalism. This whining from everyone is the most classless and tasteless aspect of all the posters here.

I believe that to make this better would be to have a meeting in a central location on a Saturday that everyone may be able to attend. Orlando? Ocala on a Sunday with a practice scheduled?

Being an organizer and promoter can be and is a thankless job at times. But, to do it right takes being like a duck; you let the criticism roll off you like water off a duck's back. Not an easy propisition but something everyone has to learn, none the less.

Those of us that have been racing for any length of time know how weather oriented some forms are. Flat-track particularly. Quads may be able to go out and do it on a soggy track, whereas those of us that want more of a challenge by riding a motorcycle, have a tougher time riding in the soup.

End of rant.
Richard.
17  General / Racing Scene / Re: Practice Day at Thunderbowl: Dec. 27 on: December 27, 2009, 08:07:07 PM
Today was a good day for practice. The most rain we got was a few drops here and there. Nothing that made for bad riding.

There were even 20 bikes with a quad thrown in for good measure. It looked like a small race nite.

There were only a couple of get-offs. Dakota did a high-side coming out of 4 landing on his maximus gluttomus (his tush). I think the brain damage is minimal. Tim did a low-side going into 3. Hurt pride. We even had an impromptu race between Kurt Brady, Kyle Spradlin, Doug Howard and Matt Sibbick. It was pretty close between Kurt, Kyle and Doug for 3 laps. Then exiting 4 Kyle saved a high side but bruised soft areas that hit the seat.

There was talk among those of us there about doing another practice event like this. If you would like to do some more, let me know here or pm me. you can also email me at stgsali@bellsouth.net. I will do what I can to put it together.

Richard.

So far, the weather sites I have looked at, there may be some drizzle but is supposed to mostly cloudy. Temps. should be upper 50's to lower 60's. Right now the radar shows no rain at the track. There is still going to be someone at the track rain or shine.
Richard.
19  General / Racing Scene / Re: Practice Day at Thunderbowl: Dec. 27 on: December 24, 2009, 10:56:26 PM
Another update: Kyle Spradlin, Doug Howard and Al Weinberg are going to be showing up. Matt Sibbick, Kurt Brady will be there too. If it all goes as planned maybe we can have a practice race or two. John Rourke, CJ and sandbagger have spoken up. I think CJ and sanbagger may be the only 2 quads. heh heh heh Ben and I will be there to have some fun too. So if you have a little free time and a new "toy" now is the time to come out and shake it down. First SDTA race is going to be here sooner than you think!
20  General / Racing Scene / Merry Christmas on: December 24, 2009, 10:37:13 PM
To all the people that helped to make the year, Merry Christmas! To my fellow vintage racers, thanks for not running me over passing me when I was in your line! Grin
To everyone that wanted and bought pictures or CD's, thank you and Merry Christmas.
Merry Christmas to Ray, Shawn and that international celeb, Ward, for the fun and opportunity to do what we do.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year.
Here's to making it better and bigger.
Richard.

Alrighty then, girls and boys, the head honcho at Thunderbowl said the gates will be open at 10 am. Says the posse is welcome and to come on out for a fun filled day!
So let's go have some fun!!

22  General / Racing Scene / Re: Practice Day at Thunderbowl: Dec. 27 on: December 15, 2009, 09:47:09 PM
Nate, Ben and I are planning to make it. I  don't know of anyone else that might. Who knows, maybe Scrawny, Ward and anyone you might know. I'm trying to talk an old motocrosser into coming down and riding for the day. We'll see what happens.
23  General / Racing Scene / Practice Day at Thunderbowl: Dec. 27 on: December 13, 2009, 08:38:38 AM
Alrighty then, there has been some talk of trying to get a bunch of people together for a practice day the Sunday after Christmas, December 27; at least on the motorcycle section. Practice would cost $10. Depending on what time people show, you could practice from noon till dark. I know I am going to make a show just to ride and test a couple of things.
For those of you that can, it would be opportunity to ride and do some bench racing. I know family takes precedence over anything else during the holidays, but you could talk them into coming out and experiencing first hand what your hobby is. Who knows, maybe you could let them ride and get them involved in it.
If there are enough people that want to do this, I will see if we can get the gate opened earlier.
Richard.

Nate,
Don't you know an international Celebrity such as Ward would have the finest caterers they could? I, somehow, don't see him flipping burgers.
25  General / Racing Scene / Re: Motorcycle Section on: December 11, 2009, 07:30:32 PM
I'd do the 20th or 27th. Anyone else want to ride then? If enough want to run, maybe we can have a practice race! lol
