1  General / Open Discussion / Re: 86 350X and 85/6 250R on: June 02, 2008, 05:36:15 PM
i'd like to get really close to 2400 which isn't a whole lot more than all of the new parts cost.  So you can figure in a damn near free machine, and most of the labor costs as well...

Well it's been a while but here are a couple pics.  The 350X is basically an all aftermarket rebuild/resto.  Its an 86 with a powder coated 85 frame, +3 86 swinger, lsr axle, boss billet carrier, new front bearings, sprockets/chain, new plastics, tires, itp rear wheels, K&N, aftermarket exhaust, stainless braided brake lines w/chrome fittings, new clutch and throttle cable, msr bars, lsr billet e brake block of plate, rebuilt carb, valves were adjusted and the motor is all stock, as are the headlights, tank and seat

And the 250R has a very documented build here on the site by mrbones.

I also have an 85.5 Tri-Z for sale in the classified section.  I'm hoping to move back north in the near future and i need to thin things out before that, i simply have too much stuff right now, TC...

I wanted to give this a bump, i live in a place where the HOA doesn't allow motorcycles so i can't even start mine.  But to get to the point i've restored a few 3 wheelers and would love a place local i could go test/tune maybe once a month just to let them run a little and get them in good running order.  If anyone knows of a spot please PM me.  I'm not looking to rip and tear as much as just a place to make sure they are solid before devoting a whole day to driving up to croom and having something brake or go wrong in 5 minutes.  Thanks for reading, TC...

Good to hear, i dont really know/care where i ride anything is better than nothing so if i get lost that'd be fine too.  I wasn't sure if i needed insurance or photo id while out on the trails.  In Pa we have some legal trails that require registration, membership, and liability insurance.

I appreciate the offer, but i dont think i can make it up this weekend.  We're expecting a baby any minute so i'm gonna be going either this tues or weds and i can't make it this week then most likely next saturday.

Plus i haven't ridden in so long i forget how, i picked up mrbones R a while back and things have been crazy so this will be the first real outting with it.  Also my first on a 3 wheeler since i moved south 2 years ago and sold the ones i had up in Pa to buy a 4 wheeler that was turnkey and maint free...

6  General / Where to Ride? / Croom info needed... on: May 01, 2008, 10:04:05 PM
Hey guys i was wondering if you could help me out with a couple questions about croom, 1: where is the best place to park if i'm coming from the south on 75? (if there's only one place just kindly let me know i've never been there but i'm itching to ride)  2: what do i need to get it in?  My atv has a florida state sticker, and the croom sticker which is good through june.   3: what do they require other than a helmet, do you have to wear any other specific gear?  I normally wear boots and pants when i ride but nothing like a chest protector or rich man's riding gear.

I hope these aren't dumb questions i just dont want to waste the gas/time to drive up from exit 213 on 75 and find out i dont have something i need.  Thanks TC, and mrbones may chime in and set me straight, he will at least know what i have to work with Wink...

Syko told me about this post over on 3ww, anyway thanks again for all of your help.  I'm gonna get the bearings taken care of and with any luck i'll find a trailer so i can take it out to croom a time or two.  I didn't get it unloaded it was pouring by the time we got back, but it will be in one piece again in the next day or two.
8  General / Open Discussion / 86 350X and 85/6 250R on: March 02, 2008, 10:04:07 AM
Hey guys i just wanted to introduce myslef, i've been in Fl for about 1.5 years and i just found this site but i've been over on 3ww for years.  I have a restored 86 atc350x, an 86/5 atc250r, and i'm planning on picking up a tecate here in the next couple weeks as funding will allow.  I'll get some pics up of my machines, i'm in the Tampa Bay area and will be most likely selling my 350X in the next couple weeks once its done so i can focus on my 250r restoration.

I was curious where you guys ride around here.  I'm between Sarasota and Bradenton off University and i dont mind having to haul it somewhere but i'd like to find place i can do some fine tuning on my X before i sell it.  Even like a local area thats small would be cool i can't even start it up at my place.  Anyway i'll compress my files and get some pics up here a little later this afternoon.
