I cant believe this! I have spent thousands of dollars to have such an outing and these Patunias loose sight of the golden arches and hit the panic button.
We are loosing the right to ride out there because of these types of instances. And of coarse they could not wait to launch two birds and half a dozen over zealous law enforecers!
I am sure this will be just more bullets for the FWC and the OHV comitee..
I can just here it now See they just cant take care of themselves out there and they should not be allowed

All
Well there has been some very well thought out replies. And I am sure many more conscious readers that are riders that have read this.
Myself and my associates will move forward to organize a meeting The first meeting of the ATV Coalition of South Florida. Most likely withing 30 days We will work within the system to provide, keep and maintain areas that we can ride.
As they say watch this space.

All:
There are two main negatives that caused the H-lands to be taken back. One and this one will be hard to appeal The environment Most of us have ridden on trails these are or have some sort of boundary that keeps us on the trail. We have seen areas get whooped up and then we (riders) take it upon ourselves to carve out another path to go around this. This happends out in the H-lands but to a greater degree. We see a flooded area of a lets call it a path. Its flooded due to us (riders) digging deep ruts and then these get filled up with water. What do we do? Go around and create a new path that is drier then the next rider Well you all know what happens. How do we police that?
Second The Lawless non conscious riders. I don't have to write anything here we have all seen it. We have all reported on this foorum and the FWC has done their best to control it. But the area is vast and understaffed and quite frankly they should not have to enforce the obvious
How do we do away with that Perhaps using the OHV guidelines and permits that are set up in the National Forrest and for that mater in pay to ride facilities.
These two problems must be resolved and we must present to the FWC a means to stop this. Otherwise case closed. Trust me my self and my associates are gong to try to put something forward that they will consider but it will take something very strong for them to consider. And yes it will most likely invoke some strong criticism form those that have run on the its my right bandwagon.

Regulations are made and regulations can be changed
First a lobbyist type group needs to be formed. This should include Riders as well as manufactureres and the local dealers.
Do you not think this will have re-procutions for people like Rick Case and Riva and Broward Motor Sports
Yamaha has just formed an alliance team just to prevent this type of area from closing. It will not be easy and it will take more much more than words on a forum.
My group hopefully on Monday will meet with an attorney to form a NON Prof to see how far we can take this. Had I known prior to the end of last month that this was on the docket for the meeting this month I would have moved to form this months ago, However a national Forrest ranger in Ocala told me about this closure forth coming

I just spoke to FWC and Although someone decided to try correct me(on this forum) the vote did take place during the last meeting on the 6-8. And the issue was on the docket for that meeting.
According to FWC there is no appeals system. The time for an appeal was when the issue was placed on the docket for discussion.
To say too little too late comes to mind Everyone one with a conscious and an IQ greater than the amount of beer cans they droped out there should realize that this was a gift. Not growing up here in the south the First time I went out there I kept asking myself is this really OK to ride here? To ride along side of or in the Everglades.
Maybe if a new location is allowed People will remember the fun they had at the Holylands and what a hastle it is to drag you're ATV to areas that are controlled riding

The above is on the docket at todays meeting The same goes for Ruttenburg I am afraid!
Hopefully this will not pass or we loose a very large part of why we have ATVs[

Thanks Grizz,
Looks like a great deal of thought has gone into this new trail system. And from what I was told by Eve last time I was up they are also connecting the existing system to the new southerly system. If they are to do this will they then enforce a total speed limit on all marked trails of 20MPH?
Has the appeals process started? Are the appeals publically posted?
Thank you
