Sounds like a Polaris might be the way to go... It's just so hard to say goodbye to the 'Shee....  Cry

Haha... Thanks lt250r, I guess I left out the last step.  Roll Eyes

My bad.

Yes, after you add the stabilizer, you'll want to shut off fuel and run it 'till it dies, just like he said.  She should fire right back up in the spring. Grin

Ditto,
It shouldn't be too hard since you guys rarely see freezing weather in Florida.

Go to AutoZone, pick up some fuel stabilizer, and dump it in your tank. After that, run the engine for about 10-15 minutes to flush it through your carbs. (You're best bet is to go for a short ride if you can).

It's probably a good idea to mix the stabilizer with 1/2 gallon of gas before you add it to your quad. This will help it mix more evenly inside your tank.

Good luck, and Happy Holidays!   Wink

Hahaha... I'm actually thinking of selling the 'Shee. I could use the money for a Jeep, or maybe a 4x4 quad. I hate to see her go, but I guess I'll wait and see what happens.

Thanks LMK, I've been good. Haven't been able to ride as much as I would like, but otherwise it's great. The winters aren't nearly as bad as I thought they would be. It'll snow 6" one day, but be 60 degrees and sunny the next.

So what are you gonna blow all that cash on?  Wink

Has anyone had experience with the Polaris Scrambler 400 4x4? I'm starting to think I need 4wd to get around on some of the trails out here, and was wondering how they are in terms of handling, power, and reliability.  Huh

Not sure if I like the idea of an automatic, but I guess I don't have a choice. Anyone have inputs on how thier transmission feels, and how much abuse it can take?  Grin

Also, if anyone has one they're looking to get rid of let me know.  Smiley

Happy Holidays LMK! Glad you had a good Christmas. I think your sister should be in charge of all my Christmas shopping next year.  Grin

Yeah, Pimpin's first pic is definitely Ocala... I was the photographer.  Grin
That hill was actually about a 20 to 25 ft climb, steep as hell. (You can kind of tell how high it was from all the little people in the background.) You had to give it some throttle just to get up it, and everyone was launching off the top pretty good.
12  General / Open Discussion / Re: NEXTEL radio rescue numbers on: August 02, 2004, 09:28:41 AM
This is a great idea, guys!
I don't have my Nextel anymore, but if I remember correctly there is a way to store all of the numbers under a single talk-group on your phone. That way if you're in trouble, you just select the one talk-group and your message will shoot out to everyone on the list. Much better than having to shout "Mayday!!!" a million times.

Someone should compile a list of all of these numbers so they're all in one place.

15  General / Where to Ride? / Re: East Coast Ride Area on: February 17, 2004, 11:50:42 AM
My bad guys.

Yes, it's just a couple of miles south of Melbourne. Take I-95 to the Malabar Road exit, then head West. Turn left onto Minton Road at the Seven-Eleven. Follow Minton until it comes to a "T", then turn right. In about 30 yards, turn left at the stoplight onto Degroudt. Go down Degroudt for a few miles, then turn right onto Bombardier Rd (just before the high school). Where Bombardier ends, the fun begins...

Hey guys. I'm surprised I haven't seen this place mentioned yet, but one great place to ride is "The Compound" in Palm Bay. It's off of I-95, about an hour from Orlando, 2hrs from Jax, 1hr from Daytona, and 2hrs from West Palm (roughly).

They have just about everything you can imagine. Cliffs, Hills, Jumps, Canals.... Mud puddles that will swallow your ATV whole. They've even got a few straight PAVED roads that go for a good 1/2 mile or more if you're in the mood for a drag-race.

You can go out there on some weekends and see close to 100 Jeeps, Pickups, Dirtbikes, and ATV's playing around. It's probably close to 200 acres or more of just about anything you would ever want to do.
