General / Tech Corner / Submerged it? Milky Oil?-No Problem!!

Just some information for you all...
I have been reading some posts about riders sinking their bikes in waterholes. I had this problem and have done the following for all bikes since I can remember. Oil is expensive stop changing it 4 or 5 times plus two or more filters to get rid of the water...
Instead, drain the oil remove filter drain filter replace old filter and fill the engine with DIESEL fuel instead, all the way to the top. Start the motor and let run for about 10 seconds-NO MORE!! Drain it remove the filter again and repeats process. I have had up to 3 addl. quarts of water in my oil by submerging my bikes-worst case I'll use 6 gallons of DIESEL@even at 3.00 its cheaper than quart after quart of oil and the two filters your going to go through. DIESEL carries some lubricating properties and also works a great detergent.
Those of you that are going to say it'll ruin your engine...I have 4 bikes-2 Yamaha, 1 Honda, 1 Suzuki...I have been doing this since day one as well have all friends, 8 years later a alotta bikes later never have had a engine related problem. Just my 2 cents. p.s. NEVER DO THIS WITH GASOLINE; IT COULD BE A VERY EXPLOSIVE SITUATION

I’m not doubting big daddy. However, I tried this again tonight in the bar and today in south Kendall...and it worked! I too worked for the cellular companies (Sprint PCS and Nextel, a combined 6 yrs.) Before, working for Microsoft. I tried this today in south Kendall and I was able to reach, by two-way, a buddy in ft. laud. ERR/Channel allows you to use more than the standard "few channels" that are normally avl. to you as a “consumer“. It finds the strongest signal and communicates over it. As far as there being only 13 towers in Broward, your wrong! 2 yrs. ago when I was working for Sprint PCS, in the Cypress Creek & Federal hwy location, as a Commercial Account Rep. , there were 44 local towers, both standard and relays...so how do you figure such a small #??? After all Nextel and Sprint are the same, as far as Cellular service goes!!! So, logically there must be more now…Sprint works off of CDMA and Nextel worked of TDMA, direct connect-still “a Form of TDMA”. ADD the two and it must be more than 14!
You say, (YOU…) 2+4=1... PROBABLY NOT!!!
I say, (Fordracing99) DUMBASS!

I was in the NO SERVICE area at my local watering hole the other night and by changing this feature, I was able to two-way three different people. so as far as my experience goes-it works!

I stopped in BMS today and check out the kodiak and the eiger side-by-side. That automatic stuff really turns me off. I'm seriously thinking of goin with the Suzuki. Yes the big bear will soon be for sale. Yea, going to possibly run up to ARS this week-end and see if I can test the Suzuki before I make my choice. Thanks for the info. and please keep it coming. I need all the info I can get.

Alright,
I have a Yamaha Big Bear now, well did...I killed it finally!! I loved that bike it would go through anything! Well, I'm looking into buying another , but the Suzuki Eiger 400 Manual shift caught my eye. I have always ridden Yamaha or nothing, but I am seriously thinking about the Suzuki. Please any stories/opions about the Suzuki share them with me. I need a bike that will prove its self to me month after month at MSG and that nasty Krome mud! I ride hard, think it'll with stand the Torture? I'm making this decision this week-end so, HURRY! Please
