1  General / Open Discussion / Re: ATV repair in Pinellas, FL on: August 18, 2008, 10:37:08 PM
Thanks for the input.  I will contact Steve in the morning.  You can tell how frustrated I was if I was thinking of Barney's for a repair.

I looked up the name and could not locate modded motorsports.  Anyone have a phone number or street address?  Thanks I got the bike in the back of the truck and was going to drop it off at Barney's of St Pete but if Steve is recommended I'll try him.

I am looking for an honest repair shop in Pinellas County, Fl to repair my son's Bombarier Rally.  The bike is running very rich.  I purchased a new carb from Carb Parts Warehouse and I have tried jetting it down and it still runs rich.  I tried adjusting the needle clip and it didn't seem to help.  I've been to two different repair shops and paid to much money and it still doesn't work.  I'm sure it is something simple but at this point I just want to drop it off and pick it up when it runs right.  Thanks in advanced.

6  General / Tech Corner / 2004 bombadiar rally 175 carb help on: July 24, 2008, 06:36:52 PM
I am having a problem with the carb on a 2004 bombadiar rally 175.  I replaced the stock carb (VM24) with a VM26 which Carb Parts Warehouse recommended.  The bike is running very rich and I am getting gas in the oil.  I checked the floats and they do not seem to be sticking.  The plugs keep fouling.  It smells rich at idle and while riding.  CPW gave me spare jets with the carb and I have reduced it down to a 25 idle jet and a 130 main jet. Still rich.  I have the clip on 2 on the jet needle.  My son rides the bike in the swamp in Florida.  There is not a choke on the carb, it has what is called a starting circuit.  Any thoughts?  I am not sure but it may be a bad carb.  I have cleaned it throughly to make sure no dirt.

Thanks

Does anyone know a replacement for the VM24 mikuni carb on a 2004 Rally sport 200cc?  I would like to go with an automatic choke.  The float keeps sticking and I've checked the float, it's ok.  I am having to take it apart every 2 to 3 rides and adjust it and the manual choke is in a bad location for my son to get at.  The carb has a cooling jacket on it that is piped into the cooling which I want to do away with.  Any help?  Thanks

I currently have a 6 x 12 open trailer, single axle trailer which I tow about 200 miles round trip.  I am pulling it with a Dodge Ram1500 with a Hemi.  I am getting about 10 to 12 MPG.

I just got rid of a 23' toyhauler about 5000 lbs fully loaded and I averaged about 7 mpg.

I am looking at getting a 7 x 14 v-nosed, enclosed trailer about (2000 lbs empty) with dual axle (springs, not torsion), about $4000 brand new.

What is the average MPG towing one of these?

Any comments?

Thanks

10  General / Tech Corner / Re: 2003 Bombardier Rally Rear Brake on: September 19, 2007, 09:51:55 PM
This is what the rear brakes look like. I emailed ebc and took the pads to the local powersports dealer. EBC did not reply and the local dealer could only come up with the factory pads that matched.  If I had the EBC part # I could get them from Rocky Mountain ATV.  From the previous link you gave me I will send the Can Am part # to EBC and see if they can match it.  Thanks again.

Thanks

That will make it easier when going to the dealer.  They had difficult time locating the pads when I went there.

If anyone has a crossover to ebc or a another brand let me know. I just spent almost $50 for one set of pads from Can-Am. Sad

Does anyone have a part # for the rear brake pads for 2003 Bombardier Rally rear brake?  The caliper is mounted on the drive sprocket.  The pads are about 1" x 1 5/8".

Thanks
