1  General / Open Discussion / Re: GOOD dealers on: November 02, 2010, 11:07:55 PM
I used to be on this site daily, but due to life in general havent been on here much the last few years. I saw this post and had to reply... I'm the parts manager at Deland Motorsports. I work with a bunch of great people, we don't have a lot of used inventory right now, but each customer is treated like our best. I'm a Suzuki/Yamaha/BRP dealer, but can get parts one way or another from anywhere. I'm also in charge of shipping and will ship any orders anywhere for as low as possible.
2  General / Open Discussion / Re: What neck brace should i get????? on: November 02, 2010, 11:03:14 PM
Whichever brace you choose, be sure to get a chest protector that's meant to work with it. I've seen too many people come in with broken collar bones due to the chest protector / neck brace combo. Leatt has a few chest protectors built specifically for them, so I would lean that way.

Yes, unfortunately Mr C is no longer with the company - that's the part that makes the promotion hard to take. But I know I can do it Cheesy
4  General / Open Discussion / Re: Just puttin it out there.... on: January 15, 2010, 10:03:34 PM
Thank you!! I'm trying to use my promotion not only to benefit the company, but everyone here. Upper management wont approve an accross the board discount without your support. The more business I can drum up = the more of a discount I can give my fellow ATVFlorida members. With ATV sales falling faster then stocks, I'm trying to do all I can to not only help the business, but the customers too. I consider everyone on this site my friend - even if I've been MIA for some time. If there's anything you need I'll do my best to make it happen.
5  General / Open Discussion / Just puttin it out there.... on: January 15, 2010, 08:57:32 PM
I know I havent posted nearly as much as I used to, but I have a bit of an announcement to make Cheesy I've been at Deland Motorsports for the last 3 years. As of yesterday I've been promoted to parts manager. I wish it was under different cirumstances, but I'm geared up and ready to embrace the roll. I just wanted to pass the word along and let everyone here know that if there's any parts you need for your quads or dirtbikes to call me up and let me know. I want to start my new roll with a bang and am trying to get an ATVFlorida discount setup for any local customers. Figured I would put the word out to test the waters and see what happens. I'm also in charge of shipping so if you aren't in driving distance I can ship parts to you. Hopefully I'm not crossing any advertising lines or anything. I was just super excited and wanting to help everyone else out at the same time.
6  General / Open Discussion / Re: Where is the ATV in ATVFlorida? on: October 07, 2009, 11:38:02 AM
I'm still here lurking, but like a lot of others I rarely ride anymore. Still have the LTR, but it mainly just keeps my garage company. There's just no where to go anymore, especially locally. Big Scrub used to be great, 45 minutes from the house and could ride all day. Now it's just a joke that's no longer worth the drive. Maybe someday it'll be fun again, but can't say I have much faith anymore.

I remember that car!! Good luck hunting her down!
8  General / Open Discussion / Re: Ban of motorcycles and ATVs for kids. on: February 24, 2009, 01:17:13 PM
I just wanted to let everyone know that this ban is also effecting adult motorcycles and ATVs. I was following up on some orders this morning and noticed the issue. Some of the adult motorcycles use some of the same parts as the youth ones. Because the part numbers are the same we still cant order the part.  Bang Head
9  General / Open Discussion / Re: Ban of motorcycles and ATVs for kids. on: February 18, 2009, 05:18:29 PM
We can no longer sell them or get most parts for them. Been having issues all day long filling in regular customer about it. Its a huge headache to say the least, not to mention a bit extreme.
10  General / Open Discussion / Re: Let your voice be heard. Lead paint. on: February 18, 2009, 05:17:03 PM
The whole lead thing is definately a bit out of control when it comes to the powersports. Not only are we no longer allowed to sell youth ATVs and dirtbikes, but we are also now unable to order many parts for them. The new rule of thumb is that if the part you need is in a place on the unit where a child could something lick the thing, you will not be able to get the part. We're coming across all kinds of parts on a daily basis that we can no longer order - like a cylinder... ugh... this is such a headache!! It's going to be fun telling all of our regular customer we can no longer (hopefully temporarily) get them the parts they need.

Wow, I dont even know what to say other then I am so sorry! I lost my cousin a year ago on the 30th and will never forget how I felt and still feel. I can only imagine how little the two can even compare. I'm sure she's looking down on you sending lots of hugs and kisses. I'll be sending lots of prayers your families way. Keep your head up.

Love,
Ashley
13  General / Open Discussion / Re: Simple things we miss... on: October 17, 2008, 05:23:53 PM
Adding to the list of things I miss... this weather definately brings back memories of things that are hard if not impossible to do anymore. I miss going up to Salt Springs with a ton of people from here (too many to make a list and I dont want to forget anyone, lol)... I miss camping at Rodman or the place down the road from there... spending all day riding and all night drinkin and laughing til it hurt. I miss being able to ride and it not cost me an arm and a leg, haha. I miss riding all day in Ocala then stopping by Blue Sink to swim - and NOT have to worry about glass or God knows what else, lol.
14  General / Open Discussion / Re: Why wont the media report the truth.... on: October 09, 2008, 02:58:53 PM
I wasnt just talking about this election, I'm talking about the majority of elections - local and national. It seems the majority of the people who are in these big offices/parties are only there because they have money or the right connections - not because they are the man or woman for the job. Heck, it took them how many years to realize the economy was in the crapper? We've all been feeling the effects of the economy for years now - but, we have average paychecks and reality hits us A LOT faster then it hits these big guys in offices. Sometimes I really think there needs to be a salary cap. I mean, if you want to speak for the average guy then dammit you need to be an average guy!!
15  General / Open Discussion / Re: Why wont the media report the truth.... on: October 09, 2008, 12:26:16 PM
Both canidates are rats - and honestly, neither one of them should be where they are. It's a sad time when these two guys are the best this countrys main two parties can come up with. Sad I really dont see much hope for us in the near future. Something has to give and it's still going to take a lot before the bottom truely falls out.
16  General / Open Discussion / Re: Raise your hand if your employer has started making cuts/letting people go on: October 08, 2008, 01:12:30 PM
well, I still have my job, thank God. I wont say I feel secure in fear of jinxing myself, lol. Today the whole thing did hit me a bit. My bonus check was $90 instead of $300, lol. They're nit-picking every little thing now and docking me for stuff I was docked on months ago lol. I dont blame them I guess - but dammit it sucks Sad Especially cause Sully has a vet appointment Monday morning for his hips and I have all my bills due this week - fun fun. I'm glad to hear most of you are still hanging in there. I have a feeling we all have a very long road ahead of us. Sad
17  General / Open Discussion / Raise your hand if your employer has started making cuts/letting people go on: October 07, 2008, 04:39:33 PM
I havent been let go or anything - but as of today, the layoffs have begun Sad

18  General / Open Discussion / Re: Obama, Muslim Connection or Not? on: September 26, 2008, 05:43:31 PM
I always dread this time every four years. I dont care who gets nominated - they all have the same bs story. Until an "average joe" type of person gets in we're always going to be screwed. IMO anyone wanting to hold a major office should only make what an average person makes - maybe then they're grasp on reality will be closer to earth and not off in some fantasy land they seem to be in. I mean seriously, these people dont even know what a gallon of milk costs - yet they think they know what the american people need? Please. It also doesnt help that these huge political parties just seem to not care. I mean, how many millions of people are there in the US? Do you really think that the final 4 were the best the country could come up with? Until there's a major political/governmental shake-up we're all going to continue to make the same decision every four years and that seems to be - which handbasket do we want to send the country to hell in? Its sad.
19  General / Open Discussion / Re: MRSA Question on: September 24, 2008, 03:27:35 PM
Well, the news was good this morning, lol. I did get a few extra days of meds, but other then that everything seems to be healing ok. I'll never look at a "mosquito bite" the same again, haha.
20  General / Open Discussion / Re: MRSA Question on: September 23, 2008, 08:45:15 PM
Haha, ya, those pictures are burned into my brain now - thats why I came here to ask for suggestions. The antibiotics seem to have worked, but having these 2 hard spots makes me wonder if stuff is still there. I'm going to ask the doctor about that in the morning. I'm hoping the meds took care of it, but if having surgery means I wont have to worry about getting these things every other week - then it'll be worth it (Even though I wont think that for awhile, haha).
21  General / Open Discussion / Re: MRSA Question on: September 23, 2008, 05:10:29 PM
Thanks. I almost wished they would have put me in the hospital, at least I could have got some good meds there, lol. The pain finally went away (for the most part) Sunday night. Both spots are still hard, but no longer painful and as far as I can tell, no others are starting. I search myself for mosquito bites at least twice a day now, lol. I stil have a few days of antibiotics left and an appointment in the morning for a checkup. So far so good, I just pray this is the end of it - I dont think I could handle a third week of that mess and pain. **Crossing Fingers**  Grin
22  General / Open Discussion / Re: MRSA Question on: September 19, 2008, 05:11:09 PM
Thanks for the tips Smiley I'm hoping I dont have to go the surgery route, but I guess time will tell. I'd post pics, but I'm sure you dont want to see my big red azz, lol. The first one was about 3 inches in diameter and rock solid, but made my entire thiegh swell. It exploded in a little over a week. It's still there, but only about a 1 inch diameter and not sore. After that one "healed" I noticed what I though was a mosquito bite on my dam azz cheek - well, it wasnt a mosquito bite and is now fn huge, lol. The pain today is a little less then yesterday, but still excrutiating... nothing better then trying to sit down, ahahah. I'm crossing my fingers that another one isnt going to surface when this one heals. My mom was talking to her co-worker about it this morning and come to find out his 2 yr old son has it!! I cant imagine how painful/scary it would be for a 2 year old! As for pain meds, I have two Darvys left and seeing how uneffective they were last night I may just have a few drinks so I can sleep, haha. Is it bad when its tempting to take a knife to your bum just to make it feel better? haha Wink
23  General / Open Discussion / Re: MRSA Question on: September 19, 2008, 11:37:18 AM
My boyfriend and his two ex roommates (along with a couple of thier friends) all had it last year. It's usually a hospital born thing - staf infection thats built up immunity because people dont finish thier antibiotics - but over the last few years has become more common outside of hospitals. The "bug" can stay contagious for years, so I'm assuming it's still in the house somewhere. I'm disinfecting all the furniture this weekend. They had it on thier legs - I wish I was that lucky, lol. All I know, is it better clear up by next Wednesday - otherwise thiey putting my azz in the hospital Sad
24  General / Open Discussion / Re: MRSA Question on: September 19, 2008, 10:09:24 AM
LOL, drink it is. I took a couple of darvocets last night and that did absolutely nothing except make me talk alot, lmao. Tonight will be a drinkfest I'm sure - I have only slept for about 6 hours in the last two days. This pain is unlike anything I've ever had before Sad The doctor pretty much told me I was SOL for pain relief. I have antibiotics for the next 10 days, but if it doesnt clear up she'll have to either give me something stronger or put me in the hospital - oh joy!!!!
