General / Open Discussion / Re: 5 yr old kid in school has me furious!!

Last week, my 3 3/4 yr old daughter got PUSHED by another girl in front of the teacher and me! As the school requested in the parents' meeting the week before, to tell the teacher of anything that happened in the classroom so the teacher can go correct the situation. Otherwise, it would have been ME! Anyway, when the teacher went to correct the kid, guess what that girl said to the teacher? F**K You. The girl went into timeout but didn't stay in timeout long enough so when she followed the teacher back from timeout, I gave that girl a brief lecture about pushing other people and don't she ever do that again. I suspect the teacher would have handled it more harshly if there were no parents around....and we got interuppted by another parent. So I left it up to the teacher to handle. I checked the next two days and there has been no problems with my daughter. YET the same girl pushed someone else! Again I happened to be there! Not my daughter, thank god. I had instructed her to say in a loud voice to keep away if that girl went after her. And to tell me or the teacher. That girl has been a problem so I've been seeing her parents in more often "giving her extra attention". Lately, the girl has been "happy". We will see. Kids who act out like this are NOT getting the love or attention at home. Negative behavior will do if that is what gets the kid attention.
I KNOW what I would do if my daughter got pushed or hurt by the same girl, I'd raise a stink! I've witnessed two episodes already....and it's only like uhhhmmmthird week of school?

Ouch, NASTY!!
One of my neigbors had to rush her child to the ER for the same thing. She recovered well but it was not a fun thing. Same MRSA thing.
Wash your hands often! Don't take antibotics unless neccessary, and when you have to, take them all the way to the last pill/drop!
Get better soon.

I was thinking about getting a Nintendo Wii when my check comes around. I'm a gamer junkie and it would be fun to play with the kids.
GET the Wii!!!!!!!! Me, paying the bills. I'd love to go to Hawaii but nah. Not yet.

My daughter got spider bites in her sleep. One was pretty nasty. The skin around the bite took forever to heal. Wasn't a pretty sight.
Now my guy pounces at spiders that dares to creep in at night. Grrrr! I also found one at a shopping plaza where I told the shopkeepers about it. They were so shocked at what they can do.
Not much you can do about it. When we move, I am making sure the garage is painted WHITE and bright lit.

I think you gotta pay taxes abroad (or when you come back) unless you renounce your citizenship. You can collect social security overseas though.

I think it's safe to say that the ATV rider paid the ultimate price for being a careless jackass. I hate to say it, but I do not feel bad for him in the least -- he had what was coming to him.
Yes, He's a huge dummy for not obeying the road rules like the rest of us.

Get together and raise some money before it gets too bad for Jennifer and her family? Not wait til the holidays because I suspect the worst could happen AFTER....? Is there any family to help with the children? I hope so.

Remove the computer? Move the computer to a secured room and lock it with the only key on you? Monitor the guy's movements so you can get him off the computer?
Threaten with calling the cops? (Just trying to give you ideas)

I think I told this story before but here's what happened: A black car clipped the front of my T-Bird in Miami while I was reaching out into the road trying to see if I could get into the road safely. Slowly..... but it came down the road real fast! Needless to say, I got chewed out by the wife of the driver! It was a brand new Mercedes. Seeing the situation with their unruly kid and the accident circumstances, I just let the wife yell at me---then said, let's get the cops to sort this out because it's still not very clear who's at fault here. After the public safety aide determined who was at fault--me. Then I said come over here---and everyone got to see WHY I got clipped! There is NO way you could see anyone coming just to try to get out on the road. I took the blame for being in the road anyway. The wife, by this time, was calm enough to realize that I couldn't have heard all the angry words she threw at me. She was so sorry! I told her, hey, if it was me, I'd be yelling too! Their kid was really outta control. The driver, a doctor, then went for estimates. The beauty of this, he REFUSED the first estimate because it was too high. (?900) The next estimate was very reasonable (298). He called me up and told me what happened, and I cut him a check within 48 hours! He was able to get his new Mercedes fixed. It was a very small clip but noticable and undesirable.
Yes, we would have gone to insurance if we had problems. That's what insurance is for. Eat the extra premiums for the peace of mind and move on. Peace for doing the right things and resolving things with good karma.

Congrats Matt...your life is about to change 100% for the better. I don't know why i waited until my 30's, wish I would have had kids sooner, i didn't know what i was missing. as for the 40 hours without sleep...ha...it will never change now...my parents told me i'd be forever tired once i had kids, and they were right...but it's all worth it
I feel the same way! However, If I did that, things would have been different! Our actions at any given time changes the whole timeline. If there was someone else, totally different place, different kids. Who knows! BUT---what I have have, I've been given this and cherish this.

No points, no traffic school. If you do traffic school, they kinda know you did traffic school.....I think. Then your insurance goes up.

;)Heyyyyy Anorginal! Congratulations on becoming a Daddy!!! You may be up for 41 hours, Good Daddy! But, Try to get as much sleep as you can when it's your sleep time. You will need it to stay the course as a good parent. All the Catholic stuff aside, children are definitely blessings/gifts from God, and may you treasure your precious child for a lifetime to come! I have two little girls, 3 1/4 and 18 months old. They are totally my life! I don't always do everything that I wanna do these days BUT they are the BEST. I didn't even wait for my oldest one to get big enough to ride when I nailed a terrific 70. So we ride now and then when I am not forgetting to take a whirl! Just tonight, I have some vomit on me, but my 18 month old is sleeping again. Anything, just ask us!

I got a ticket in Miami for following too closely. Everyone were doing it. It was over the bridge over the turnpike near Coral Reef on SW 117 Ave. I saw the COP doing it just before she pulled me over! So I was pretty pissed but complied. When we pulled over, I asked her what she was writing me the ticket for? She would not tell me. Obviously a BAD DAY for this cop.
So pissed >:(with what the cop did with me when she did the frickin' same thing. I know! I saw her right next to me. Car to Car and I could tell how close she was right there. Would I bother getting a atty if I got ticketed---it's one of those life things that happen when you not minding the road rules. BUT WTF! THIS ONE?
So I got one of those ticket attys for $69.00 and told him everything, including the cop's antics. He had the ticket dismissed.
I am very appreciative of police BUT I do see a cop now and then doing the wrong thing. NOT RIGHT!

Aww, that's sad. It cost this man his life. Exactly how he and bike ended up impacting the back, I don't know but it's obvious after impact, the man got stuck and dragged. Look at his feet. No boots. Not even a sock. Maybe he slammed on his brakes all of a sudden to avoid impacting the truck but ended up flying into the back of the truck.
Whoever put this up probably meant to show how dangerous riding on highways could be. Not sick or anything. My mom refused to let us ride our mopeds again after my accident and hearing stories as a hospital admininstrator.

Get better Wyatt. You've been given a new chance. MRSA is usually fatal BUT there have been a few survivors......so it's not all fatal.
Thank God for that.

One of my favorite stories regarding ID cards---when I was working at a college in Indiana, I used to hang out with friends at a great drinking spot. A friend was too young to drink. So he made up a DL using the Pakistani version of money, having cut it in half with his picture on it with ARABIC language on it. NO ONE could read Arabic in this small Indiana college town.....and usually let him in! Not worth the hassle arguing over the legitimacy of this DL. This is not made up, I've been drinking with this guy, and it works. I loved the loooks on the bouncers when they try to figure out this priceless item.
Oh by the way, it was WELL before the terrorist attacks! Way before!
