we went out there on saturday the 7th. it was an awesome day. we went down to the pump station and the trails on the north side of the canal are rideable for sport bikes if you go around certain mud holes of course. but all in all it was a great time. the kids were riding the trails on their 90's and they were able to go through most of the places. it is deffinetly drying up out there.

Orange 450......you live so close and all.........any chance you know who owns the land? And would they consider allowing riders with 'waivers'? I don't know the land......so I am just thinking of ways that an owner 'may' allow land use....... Maybe they would consider "permits" with a signed waiver? (If you are injured on their land without a permit, you are trepassing kind of deal?) Just an idea........
(parents..........keep an eye on your kids. Adults.....watch out for the younguns.)
We don't need to be losing land to ride.
Chuck
The land is owned by so many people, most probably dont live near there or even in florida. They built roads back there i think in the 80s with plans to develope, but the company fell short of money and nothing ever happened. So basically it would be impossible to get a waiver, etc. I think there is like over 1000 acres out there that we used to ride on, but due to all of these injuries Palm Bay had to shut it down because of the morons that would try to sue after being hurt on the land. I broke my leg out there but never told the people at the hospital that I did it on an atv, or out there at the compound. And of course it was my fault, i never tried to blame anyone for it happening, i knew that sooner or later the place was going to shut down because people were blaming people or land owners saying stuff about the piece of land they got hurt on was unsafe. But this incident with the girl isnt going to stop me from returning out there to practice. I ride with responsibilty to me and others, and only I can be responsible for my actions. If people get hurt; then they get hurt, nothing can stop that, let them go be stupid and ride without a helmet, and when and If they try to sue, there case shouldnt be allowed in court. at the end it is all about personal accountability. and this country it only exists in a few people. knowing you can get rich if you trespass on private property and get hurt, is extremely tempting. i have gotten hurt like yourself on private property and just shut my mouth and kept on going. why cause when anyone sues the place gets heated and then shut down and at then end i have got this beautifull bike that is paid for and no where to ride. we and our families are the only ones to blame. ohhhhhh did i forget the greedy lying lawyers.

i personally have never had a problem with getting some sort of pass to go ride. what i don't like is the harrasement that you get when you go there on your quad. sell a pass expalin the rules once. not everyday at our campsite or everytime you see taking a break on the trail by a numbered road.

I just caught this on th TV. The girl was riding on the back of a Banshee with NO helmet and NO protective gear riding in an illegal area giving us all a bad name. Her parents should be held responsible for this.
i couldn't agree with you more.

the thing about the rangers stopping everyone every time they see you is nothing new. in novemeber we went up there and let me tell you in a span of 3 days of riding we wee stopped 7 times in the trails when we were taking breaks and they came to our camp site 5 times to repeat the same things that were said since the first day we were there. it seems to me that they are definetly trying to get rid of atv's in onf just like they did at the squares. what a sad state af affaris our sport has gotten to be in this state. and no one really gives a crap about it.

now why does the guy have to be cuban? he could be from south america or spain. but no go back to cuba.
while i don't agree with what that person is doing or teaching in his class it's our own government and supreme court that vote on this stupid stuff and make it legal.
if no one hear likes the way things are going why don't they leave. i personally could give a rats ass my kids go to private school for that same reason, i want them to learn about god and be able to say the pledge of allegiance without some stupid ass getting insulted and raising a stink about it.
so i guess i will say it once and for all no matter how long you have lived hear or if you were born here like i was. you have options, use them if you don't then the only stupid one is you. and if you don't like it you can get the f out of this country.

the bigeest jump you get with the lte's is if you have motor work done to the bike. if you do not then i don't recommend them too much money. if you plan on opening it up and getting bored ported and bigger valves then yes you will see the best gain on these pipes.

money to get mules for paramedic's to help out atv riders, they(government) don't want to help us. they want to make sure we keep losing lives so they can close down all the riding lands and ban atv's. we are the scum of the earth. hasn't anyone noticed that everytime something bad happens on any land private or public atv riders are to blame. they don't care about us.

Unfortunately, while sales have seemingly increased, areas to ride them here decreases as the population rises. Sadly, I don't think the family I met with would agree with you.
no they wouldn't after this tragedy. but if the lawmakers of this state would do something about it and provide people with places we would see a decrease in some of these tragedy's. and i understand that there are certain people that will ride on the street no matter what . don't get me wrong i am not condoning riding without a helmet or on the road i just feel that part of the probelm is our government, by not providing us with places to ride, instead they keep closing more places. this is a sad thing and it keeps happening over and over again.

while i understand that there is a n increase in injuries, isn't it really a decrease considering the fact that atv sales have more than quadrupled.

raptor is a great trail bike, but its a bit heavy when you are jumping in a track enviornment. also unless it's the new raptor700r, you will need to do major suspension work to get it to ride decent on the track. the raptor660r is top heavy and has a tendency to wanna flip on a fast turn. extremely top heavy.

personally i have a rancher on itp 589's and i have had to pull out foremans and polaris's. i love the honda line but anything over a 500 and it is so heavy and wide that you will get stuck more often.
