General / Racing Scene / Quads in FTR
|

So do quads have a place in FTR right now? I was hoping someone (an official) could keep us (the people) informed as to what is going on. We know the meeting was Saturday night. I looked on every website and couldn't find a thing about it. What is happening?

General / Open Discussion / Yamaha beats KTM

It was in this months Dirt Wheels, so take it for what it's worth, but the Raptor beat the 525xc and the Polaris in this months big bore shootout. I never rode any on these quads, so I wouldn't know, but I've owned 3 KTM bikes and trust me, I would never buy the quad. Maybe Dirt Wheels finally got one right, or KTM didn't pay them as much as the Yamaha execs. Who knows.

I get better mileage using premium instead of 87 octane. Also, the 87 is junk, be prepared to replace injectors after a few years. The 93 is a better grade of gas.

General / Open Discussion / Looking to relocate from Broward to Ocala
|
on: March 27, 2008, 04:21:44 PM

I've been thinking about it for years, but might finally take the plunge. However I know absolutely nothing about Ocala. Whats most important are my kids, I have to get them out of the city. Where are the good schools in Ocala? How about neighborhoods or subdivisions? My kids are young, 5 and 1. I'm 38, live in Broward, and can't stand it. Looking for houses in the $200k range. Any info would be great. Thanks, Mike

He was a great guy. Our shops are a block away. I'm very close to his family. I try to be there with them as much as possible. Please pray for them. I know it was an accident, but why was someone shooting into a bush without seeing what was there, that is pure stupidity.

Mine is #57. It was my brothers number before he died. He was 34 and killed in a car accident last year. I still can't bear to throw a leg over the quad though. It sits in my garage, I just can't do it.

The quality of the Honda blows them all away. I have built a YFZ, a TRX and an LTR. The Honda is BY FAR the best built one out there. In fact right now I have an brand new 07 YFZ that I built for XC. It is done and ready to go. If anyone wants to trade me for a Honda, let me know. .

Do you have an aftermarket pipe on it? I chased a backfiring problem for months on a YFZ. Everyone said it was jetting. It ended up being a leaky Big Gun headpipe.

Swamper, how much do you gross in sales per month? You say you have a small shop, but with 7 employees? I have a feeling you have way to many people working for you. Also, you're going to have to start doing some repair work yourself. I have a body shop here in Pompano. I own the land and the business(of course I have a mortgage). I have 4 employees plus myself. 2 bodymen, a prepper/detailer, a secretary and I'm the painter/estimator. When things are good, I gross between $80k-$95k per month. Business is slow right now so maybe $70k-$75K. Even with all the bills and taxes, it still works out OK. My point is, after the first of the year, hire some quality people, get rid of the dead weight(you know who they are), and do some of the repair work yourself. It will make a HUGE difference.

Are than any other websites for the YFZ other than YFZCentral? It's slow as heck and I think too big to be usefull.
