One way to stop all the 1 groove racing is after the 1st practice session put tires or barracades out in the groove that is forming for the 2nd practice session to bring in another groove. Then when the 1st heat race comes around you will have 2 grooves. That's what I noticed about Ocala, bigass track and no passing until somebody got out of the groove. Pretty much a holeshot will win unless they mess up or somebody sticks a tire to them. Just my 02.

no, i did it alone! i got on the gas a little early coming out of turn 4 and the steering just went away. i slide out of the groove and thats it.... that track was SUPER slick outside of the micro groove and once you hit that sand, its all over. and there was NO runoff room at all! it your out of the groove you are on the wall!! like i said before... i cant wait till thunderbowl re-opens! that track was just plain dangerous! i havent wrecked like that in 10 years! so i hope i can go another 10 before i do it again! I heard that.

Hey Bamaquad, Are you gonna make it down for the Thunderbowl race? We got our home track back, I know you'll like it but you will want to spend the night because we race at night. This is a very good thing from now thru October. We had some serious handling issues with the Sumter track, its the first time we have ever been there (as with every track this year so far) and Derek rode a pig to a decent 3rd place finish. We will be better at Ocala, a track we have been to many times before. Come on down and getcha some... Not gonna make it down anytime soon. After the Ocala race and Durhamtown race the following weekend I am pretty tapped out on gas money for the time being. Plus I got a vacation coming up in June so that don't help much. I'm going to try & get back down there a couple more times before racing is over though. I'm going to give Huntsville 1 more shot and see how many show up & if there isn't enough to mess with I am going to quit racing here and come down there atleast once a month. Derek those black things are called tires and they suppose to stay on the ground in shorttrack racing. How did you wind up like that anyways? Clip somebodys right rear?

After 1042 miles, $250.00 in gas, $120.00 in food, $129.00 hotel for 2 nights (Ramada), & $80.00 in entry fees I am 1 tired mofo. Glad I got to come down and race with you guys this past Saturday. I think that I raced the track more than anything else. Never been on a track like that before but I will be a lot more prepared next time. Got to meet Dave, CJ, and another guy on a blue banshee with the #24 but I don't remember his name. All stand up guys to talk to. Had a great time and I will be back. Yes I got owned this time Derek, now it's your time to come race a track with 9sec lap times where a 100hp bike doesn't mean a thing. Bring some sprockets. thanks for coming down to ride with us... hopefully we can get together and come to your track and do the same. sorry i didnt speek at the track i didnt know which one was you i just seen you on the track... so what do you think about the GA/FL boys? fast huh...? Yes yall are quick, but I will be better next time. It's hard going to a superspeedway from a shorttrack and racing with the same set up. I wrenched on my bike between every race and even fell asleep 1 time changing the rear sprockets. I was give out. Maybe next time I will have some folks with me so I don't have to do it all by myself.

Looks like I'm going to have to punk out of this one. I drove the trailer to Huntsville last night and I get 200 miles to a tank of gas. If I travel to Ocala & back that's 1,072 miles and 200 to a tank. You do the math, almost 6 tanks to come race, I don't think so.
Just using a little common sense here, not worth it to come and race to me.
Sorry fellows, maybe if you have 1 scheduled in Georgia I will make it.

Just got through doing my Google search for directions. What a freaking haul, 536 miles and 8hrs driving time without a trailer. Can probably add 2-3 hours with a trailer on that 8 hours. GEEZ. 536 MILES @ 10 miles per gallon of gas pulling the 24footer. Guestimating here!!! That's 53 gallons of gas 1 way and 106 dowm and back @ $3.47 a gallon = $367.00 in gas there & back. Hotel room for 2 nights is roughly $300.00. Then there's food for 4, another $100.00. Roughly it's gonna take about $800.00 to come and race. Forgot to mention my entry fee. What is the entry fee and what is the payback?

OHHHHHHHH, How sweet, you did all that for me? You aren't sweet on ol Bamaquad are ya!!! I feel like you're rolling out the red carpet for me & I'm an honored guest. You will be an honored guest for real. Its cool that you will come all that way to race. Hats off to ya man ! It's definitely going to be a long haul with gas prices as high as they are & getting about 10 miles a gallon pulling a trailer. The only thing that would steer me away from coming as of right now would be the slightest hint of rain in the forecast for that Saturday.
