Unfortunately you picked the wrong state if your looking for dunes... Plenty of sand but nothing over sea level..LOL I am from the Oregon coast and California.. Even those other places mentioned dont compare to nothing on the west coast.

Well, we broke it down and discovered that it blew up. It was not all black or burnt, but it did break off one of the skirts and melted a fair amount of metal to the piston top. The guy he bought it from failed to mention he had it bored way over, and changed cdi box. Also after the ran out of one tank, they (while i wasnt there) dumped their premix into the gas tank and then poured gas into the tank. Obviously thats not the right way to mix fuel. and the shops Ive talked to said it sounds like it ran too lean. However my friends are convinced that me riding even a little too heavy on the throttle is what blew it up. Been riding since I was 4 and never blew any bike up, but i guess everyone has a 1st? Would anyone know where I can find a 66.93mm piston for a 98 RM 250, or stock jug?

Did you turn the bike off? or did it shut off by it's self. If you turned it off it might not be hurt to bad. to be honest I am not sure. I know I hit the killswitch but it started losing power and slowing before I did notice. It has been cutting out all day. Whoever had it drowned it with premix and wasnt running right for them.

lol.. Yeah I am pretty sure I was the unlucky riding it at the time. Cause unless somehow I managed to blow pressure on the hose, it had to be just a loose clamp. I guess I've decided to help him rip it apart and see what we're into, maybe throw out $30 for some rings and chalk it up as another reminder why you NEVER ride a bike that is not in good shape to begin with. Especially when you have your own nice bike sitting there waiting for you to ride. You can be my friend anytime. Ill pull my rad hose for ya, been eyeballin one of those athena big bores. lolol I am a tight wad, so all i would be good for is a part in similar shape..lol Id keep my eyes on craigslist or feedbay

I was out riding today, and a buddy brought this 98' RM 250 out. Paid $600 for it and its had carb problems, and just not running right. They put a new spark plug in and were all taking turns riding it talking about how much better its running. My buddy asks me if i wanted to check it out, and at first i said no cause I was too tired from riding my bike all day. And talked me into trying it, and took it down a straightaway and opened it up.. Came around a corner and it sputtered and shut off and slowed to a stop. Water pouring onto the head, the main hose line for the radiator came off and ran it dry. My question is.. Should I feel responsible for that and offer to pay for possibly the piston kit or whatever it needs, or should it not be held responsible for a hose not properly working.
Just something to stur up some convo.
also anyone think it will most likely be blown up.

General / Where to Ride? / Looking for a good track!

I live in temple terrace, and I was looking for a good track to go to. most tracks I found like dade city and stuff dont have open practice on weekends. Does anyone know of any tracks close to me that would have open practice or just no racing. I heard of a track in bartow, not actual BARTOW track but privately owned who accepts donations. Any help would be appreciated. Or does croom have an MX track?

The pipes are really nice actually.
Not a whole lot louder than the actually pretty nice stock pipes, but a lot deeper. As far as power, I can notice a drastic change in low rev and not had much of a chance to top it out yet.

Where is the new spot? I am down for the count this weekend. Messed around and tore up my back and have a pinched nerve. But mid next week or next weekend I am down to check out some new spots. Message me with the details.
oh and by the way. Tell me a little about that pepsi spot. Is it just trails and no jumps?

I see some pretty sweet looking trails and people ripping them up every now and again, but just worried about getting impounded. Is this place legal? Its right off fowler i guess near pepsi plant.

I know this is a ATV forum, but I just purchased an 06' crf250r. I have been running completely stock for about three months. Its a monster and has shocked me, but like all fourstrokes it feels hollow on pull. It just doesnt feels like its getting enough air flow. So Today I went and bought the Yoshi dual carbons, jet kit, and k&n. I am anxious to see what it does. I was wondering though, if anyone knows what to do with a soft clutch. Its only three months old and already feels weak. I am hard on clutches cause this is my first fourstroke. Somebody said something about taking them out and stretching them a little. I dont know but to me that doesnt sound like it will work. I have seen this company named Dark Synergy, selling clutch springs. Has anyone heard anything about those? Also if anyone can tell me what else i could do to get full potential out of that bike. I HAVE SOME ROOM LEFT ON THE HONDA CARD Oh and if anyone can give me advice about the actual process of applying the pipes and jets to the bike. It would be very helpful

Yeah road trip for sure. It takes two days to get there straight through. But there is nothing like filling up that banshee tank and going 4 hours deep into some huge dunes and ocean side trails. stuff is insane, and i never missed it so bad. In july I am heading to silverlake mi, might be some what like home.
