General / Open Discussion / Should I get a DS or a PSP
|
on: December 19, 2007, 08:08:20 PM
|
I want to get my son a new portable gaming toy. Half of his friends have PSP's and the other half have Nintendo DS's.
Does anyone have any input on which one I should get him. He's 9yrs old. Which one has the best games for his age? Can you watch movies on each for long car rides? How about durability?
THANKS, Clay

some of the newer street bikes have a front headlight that strobes or flashes. I guess that's great for safety of the biker but I've always thought it was pretty distracting for everyone else. SHHHHHH, can you all keep a secret? I hardly ever wear my seat belt. FIGHT THE POWER! STICK IT TO THE "THE MAN" My next door neighbor is LEO. I've always wanted to sneak over and put some vaseline under his door handle. Of course I would tell him the next day if was me. He's a good guy and I don't worry too much about my outside stuff walking off with his POV parked next to my house.

What a fantastic day. The newly accuired Raptor did fantastic ( a bit scary) it really rips. The boy learned some more wheely technique and he learned how to fasten his own helmet strap. We met a lot of nice riders out there today. People really come from far and wide to ride at Croom. It was nice weather. It was pretty dry on the trails so it was pretty dusty but that made for some nice rooster tailing. LOL We didn't happen to run into anyone from this site though. Maybe next time. We go most every Sunday and always park in the same place. No pics but lots of memories. I'll be missing Sundays like this I'm sure when I'm moved back to Colorado this Jan and freezing my butt off. But wait, there's always snowmobiling

It's 0615 and the boy and I are heading to Croom today (Sun). We should get there at around 0830 and always park in the children's riding area. If you happen to see me, stop and say Hi. I'm friendly (sort of) LOL
I'll be on a raptor and the boy is on a white XR 70 dirt bike and our truck is a Black Lifted Dodge with Silver bottom.
Happy Trails

I think I'm a "middle of the road" kind of man and I'm taking a serious look at Fred Thomson. I'll be the first to admit I'm not completely up to speed on all current affairs but when I hear Thomson being interviewed or answering questions on a show, I like his no B.S. nature and a good portion of his opinions. It is sad right now for the Democratic side because the options of voting for Hillary or Obama isn't really even an option for me personally. I just wish the Democratic party would get a decent person to run.
Who knows what you all think about this one, but I really think since the loss last time, Al Gore has picked himself up, and has been contributing to society in a great way. some disagree with his Green thinking ways etc, but to me he has shown that even being defeated, he still tries to be a servant to this country/world in another way. I think if he was to run again, I would vote for him. Even before Thomson.

you know what, SERIOUSLY, every time I write something on the internet reguarding my feelings about the current administration, I get letters from the IRS concerning my business. Usually if I post something, I will no doubt recieve a letter from them within a week. This is no Chit!
I firmly believe that there are key words that if typed, get red flagged and fowarded to a gov. agency. So although I have strong beliefs about this topic, I'm keeping my lips sealed because the last thing I need is to get more IRS hassles. They have been up my A$$ with a microscope for over 2yrs now.

He just needs to do the final wet sand with 2000 grit and then final polish that's how the shine happens. Plus you get rid of all the orange peel. Once again my dodge has about the same miles and it's extended cab, but now all you high payers are getting me excited so I won't take a penny less than 15,000.

I'll say it again,,, That's what we get for letting an oil man from an oil family, buy his way into the white house. If Iraq's new government can't get their chit together, why hasn't the U.S changed things around and tell them fine, you can horse around all you want but from this day foward, the U.S. will keep the peace in your country, but your going to start paying top dollar for our military and we will take that payment in oil. Of course if wouldn't really change the presidents friends within the oil companies from sticking it to the "common man". So it's a loose loose. And the really crappy part is that The only two main democratic canadates are a couple of tools. (hillary and obama) So I probably won't have a choice but to vote for the best republican canadate which is basically picking the best of the evils. I always thought I was a center of the road kind of man, but honestly, the current Pres. has really pushed me away from the republican party. Maybe there will be an outstanding independant that will run and then I'll vote for him/her

Well, after being here in Florida for a couple of yrs now, I've decided to move my son and I back to Colorado. We plan on moving around jan 12th which is a rough time of the year to move but the opportunity has presented itself and I have to act on it. I have met some very good people while living here and that I will mis. But the rest of life here has seemed to be much more difficult vs. my home state. since I'm not planned to leave for a couple of months, it would be cool if some of us could get together and do another Croom ride. I haven't decided to take my Warrior with me or save space and sell it before I go. I just got it the way I wanted it. I still have some time to think about that. Clay

It's funny how the realists (like myself) simply state that the economy is in the toilet for the common man and one of the first things a die hard republican will blindly spew out is "well the stock market is doing great" so the economy is strong. WELL,,,,,,,,,,, since only 10% of the "middle class" citezens actually invest in the market, that makes the other 90% of investors going to the "upper class".
It really shouldn't take a genius to figure out that YES! the market is doing well, however, that is only an indication that the rich upper class Americans are doing great. Meanwhile, a large portion of the middle class is selling/loosing everything they own just to feed and provide for their families. This unfortunately, is the republican way, IE. the rich get richer and the poor get poorer. The gas prices is just one very visible symptom of the republican system.

How about just releasing the already acquired technology to make our current fossil fuel cars get 70 to 100 miles per gallon. There are hundreds of vaporizer systems patents already out there to make our current vehicles get that kind of milage but the oil companies have bought all those patents. Therefore I personally don't think it would matter if we made cars run on our own urine, I'm sure the Pres. along with his friends in the oil business would find a way to charge,, and over charge for the fill up. If it goes to ethanol then I will guarantee that nobody would be able to afford to sugar coat their corn flakes in the morning any longer. Take a look at the price of corn. Since E85 came around, the price of corn has gone up substantially. It would be the same with any alternative fuel source. For every great invention made for the greater good of man kind, there is an evil selfish greedy politician/business man, ready to take that idea from man kind and slowly disburse it for a hefty profit for themselves. let the hate mail replies flow.

On a somewhat hypocrital note. The last time NYRAPTOR and I went riding, he wanted to ride my KX and the rear brakes weren't working. Of course he will agree, I really drilled that fact into him before he rode it, but that sure did bring up all those memories of my youth. Oh, and NYRAPTOR actually rode my bike better than I could but even so, my butt was still really puckered to his RAPTORS seat.

My o My how times have changed.
When I was 13 I just got my brand new quad racer and was riding with my friend who had a beat up Big Red ATC. He really wanted to test out my new quad so we switched on a dirt road near our homes. He neglected to tell me there wasn't any rear brakes on the big red. I came into a corner at about 45 mph and it was time to start braking-----and nothing. Those big balloon tires made it imposible to lean it any harder for the turn so I flew off the road and head in into a tree. I got busted up very badly. Lots of broken bones. It busted my full face helmet nearly crushing my jaw.
The ATC was all but destroyed.
Now the difference from then till now------- Even though that friend never told me the brakes were out, my parents told me that if I would have used my head for something other than a hat rack, I would have inspected the ATC and test road it before I hit those speeds. So after I took the 3 months to heal my body, I got the privelage to sell my brand new quad and had to use the money to pay my friends family full market value on thier lost ATC, then give the rest of the $ to my parents for thier money spent on hospital bills. then work all the next summer for my dad to cover the rest of the hospital bills.
It never crossed my family's minds to grab an ambulance chaser and sue our neighborhood friends like what people do today. My father just expected more out of me and figured I would gain much more common sense by paying for my mistakes.
It's sad the girl payed for her mistakes with her life. But I disagree with her parents trying to profit from her death. I do think the atv owners could have offered to pay for the girls funeral and then left it at that.
my 2 cents

That was a good movie to. "This is my weapon, this is my gun, this one's for fighting, this one's for fun". I wasn't offended at QT. Along with my rock solid confidence in my sexuality as a straight man, I just happen to have a great sense of humor as well. LOL I didn't figure you'd take me up on my oh so elequently put proposal for an interlude. LOL
