"""I agree we did it to ourselves though. It was all about greed. lower cost for labor meant more profit in the pockets. And less labor costs meant cheaper prices at many checkout registers. Now it's bit us in the azz hard.""""

At least we agree on that.

Or maybe this one , we definitely need more illegal aliens

http://youtube.com/watch?v=6Lb3oFzCj_0

Yeah, another great video!!  Honestly, the real issue is that the guy was driving drunk.  Forget about him being illegal.  What if he was legal?  Would it have been news then?  Probably not.  Thousands of people die each year by the hands of drunk drivers.  To be exact, according to statistics, about two people die every hour because of a drunk driving incident.   It is a misfortune what happen to those girls, but at the same time, you can't mess with fate.  When it's your time to go, an illegal drunk driver, or an American citizen drunk driver will take you down.  Why don't they take out the statistics of the rest of the people that were killed by a drunk driver in Virginia, and the rest of the nation?  I guess that wouldn't prove O'Reily's point.   The real point here should be, DON'T DRINK AND DRIVE!!!

How about the fact that instead of being punished for the multiple DUI's of his past he was deported instead of in prison where he belongs. And how about the fact that he was an unlicensed driver due to his illegal status ? and that means no insurance to cover any of the damages for those he hit. You're right, illegal aliens aren't a problem at all. The fact that they mooch off our welfare systems, drain our schools and don't (in many cases) even speak English, work and get paid without tax liabilities - which means no matter how long they're here they don't contribute to the welfare they live on, don't pay taxes to help schools their kids drag down, and why not rob or burglarize since there's no trace of them even being here in the first place ? It's like carte blanch and we pick up the tab. All the while they protest in our streets claiming it's their right ( which it's not as these rights are for American citizens, not people that come here illegally) and tell us they don't have to abide by our laws. Yep, no problem there at all. Why don't we just send everyone in mexico a check every month and just ask them to stay where they are so at least we don't have to feel like the foreigners when we go into a Home Depot ?

I don't believe in coming to this country illegally, but I do believe that anyone should be welcomed, as long as they go through the process.  The mix of the cultures, and the influences of the different nations is what makes this country so great.  I was going to go more in depth about the whole illegal thing, and how I feel it affects us, but screw it... It's too complicated of an issue, and there's no real answer that will make everyone happy.   We've done it to ourselves, is all I will say.

She would blow a monkey if it would get her in office.

Actually, she more than likely doesn't blow, that's why Bill had to look elsewhere.
7  General / Open Discussion / Re: How do you rate the economy? on: April 05, 2008, 12:09:42 AM
I got laid off in October, after being with the same company for 10 years.

Let's forget about the government for a moment.

I'd like to personally blame the realtors, mortgage brokers, banks, lenders, developers, investors, appraisers,  ignorant consumers, and everyone in between trying to make a fast dollar, for destroying the economy.   All of these people jacked up the prices of everything, squeezed people out of their last dollar, got people into homes that they couldn't afford, and led people to believe that what they were buying was really worth the price.  Instead of helping ignorant buyers make wise choices, these people fed off their ignorance to make a fast dollar.  I saw this first hand many, many times, and this was happening throughout the nation.  What comes around goes around, so I hope all of those people are paying the price now.  We were put on this earth to help each other, not screw each other over for a damn dollar bill.

Now I'm not saying ALL of these people were involved in such dirty negotiations, but some were...just enough of them to throw the country into a tailspin.

GOD BLESS AMERICA.

Jake, please stay in school.   Instead of staring at the """bored""", try to learn.  Especially, learn to read, write, and comprehend what's on the board.  That way you can create a proper sentence, without grammatical errors.  Call me stupid, but it might even help you in the future.

In that case, I will only answer the follow-up questions outside of the forum.

You know, you are so wrong...in every sense of the word, and about my panties!!!

Mrs. Blackflag,
Whew! for a moment I thought you were serious.  Actually, taking a look at my records I noticed that you never filled out my survey.   Grin  Please take the time to tell us a little bit about yourself and feel free to include any photos.

Honestly, I don't get easily insulted, but I can see why another woman would, with your politically incorrect, and degrading survey.    By the way, I'm not a swinger, and I am married, so answering your survey would be pointless, since my husband doesn't share, and you are just trying to be "sleazy".

That's cool!!!  Glad you had fun.  You made it through your first race.  Enjoy the pain of victory.  Grin

I'm very proud of myself!!  It was my first race, and I did it on a Banshee!!

Here's a vid of me going thru some deep water by the finish line.  The person in front of me was going thru the rocks to avoid the water, which is what most everyone was doing.  I was like, "Ah, screw it!" "I can make it!"  From what I hear, a few people got stuck there.  To hear the people cheering when I went thru it, felt awesome!!  Thanks, everyone.

I had a great time!!  I'm paying for it today, and probably tomorrow, and the next day, but it was fun!

Thanks, Kenz.  I'M STILL IN PAIN!!  MY WHOLE RIGHT SIDE HURTS MORE THAN MY LEFT.  WHAT THE...Huh

If you use any excuse not to come and play, it will be your loss. No one said you HAD to go as fast as you can. You can go as fast as you want. Let it take you into a conditioning mindset. I know too many, "bigger than they'd like to be" people that have much endurance and capabilities.
Don't make any excuses. Just come and enjoy riding on private property with not having to look over your shoulder for "The Man." It's not a beauty contest. Have you seen my hair?
 Smiley

No excuses made here....just sharing my thoughts, but mostly fears.  Undecided  I'm still going gosh darn it, even with my medieval Banshee that many or some shun upon.  No. No.   Beauty contest? Hotty    Not sure what you meant by that comment, but if I cared about what people thought of me, I would be sitting at home knitting, or getting my nails done, not riding a sports quad.   Jester   If your comment was because of my overweight comment,  I said it because I'm out of shape, and don't have much endurance, they go hand in hand....not because of how I look.   Wink

That's me...I was mudding on my Banshee.   Yeah...uh?  That's when they called me crazy.   Looney
17  General / Racing Scene / Re: Reflections of a First Time QS Racer! on: March 16, 2008, 01:50:13 AM
Hey, Pat...thanks for your "reflections".   The way you described it, is just how I'm imagining it.  I'm a 33 year old woman, out of shape, and overweight.   I'm thinking of going to the Sarasota race coming up on 3/29, and I am definitely not ready for this.  I should get in some sort of shape and wait for the next race.  However, since I learned of this racing so late in my life, I don't want to miss anymore  opportunities.  I keep saying to myself that I'm freak'n crazy to do this.  I'm not even a mom yet!  I should be thinking of having kids, not racing!!  Hey, at least you have kids...I may lose my ovaries out there!!

Anyway, I went to practice yesterday, for an hour, and today I can hardly walk....Oh yeah...I am SOOOOOOO not ready for this.   I had this attitude of "I'm in it to win it"....after yesterday's practice, I'm saying "I'm in it to finish it!!"   Cheesy

It should be fun...I'll have to be rolled around in a wheelchair for two weeks after the race, but it should be fun.   Undecided

Thanks so much for the quick and detailed replies.   They are very helpful.

A few more questions...

A saw some pictures of a trail (don't know which trail), and it looked like you have to go thru some deep water, and also, some rocks.   I ride a Banshee, and although I've put it thru some tests, I'd rather not go swimming with it.  I'd rather take my Brute for that.  My question is, for the most part, what are the trails like?

Excuse my ignorance, as I'm completely new to this, but are there pit areas, where you can refill with gas?

Ok, lastly, I need to buy plates for the numbers, correct?  They give me the number at the race, which is like a sticker or something, then I put it on my plate??  Or do they hand you plate?

I can become a member on race day, correct?

Is the $20 transponder a keeper or a rental?

Does the winner get something, besides the satisfaction of being a winner?

Ok, so I'm almost ready to race, except I need a helmet, gloves, goggles, boots, a spark arrestor, plates?, and a kill switch....lmao....uh?? well, almost ready.

It sounds like fun, and I'm already nervous just thinking about it.

Thanks in advance for future replies!!!
19  General / Racing Scene / What is a Scramble? on: March 11, 2008, 01:10:16 PM
I just discovered this type of race on a flyer at a motosports shop.

I've also read a little about it on this forum, but I still have questions.

Is there a women's league?

What type of quad must you have?  A sport or utility?  Two-strokes allowed?

How do you signed up?  Can anyone do it, or is there some type of membership?

I'm in Naples...where is the closest place I can go for this type of race?

How does it work?  Meaning what factor declares the winner...finishing first at the checkered flag?

I read something about a transponder, how's that work?

I also read about a tag with your numbers, do you get those race day?

Any links with FAQs to learn more would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

I've been trail riding for about 20 years, and I've now decided to buy a fast bike.  I saw these posts for racing in Ocala for the ladies, and I was hoping that someone can tell me what I need to race there.   Do I have to pass a course?   Do people race stock bikes?   Registration?   Any info would be great.

Thanks,
Bandida
