Hello... I'm Chris and this is my introductory post to The Ladies Lounge and what better way to start than by giving you an awesome meal idea.
And forgive me for my handle... it's kind of an inside joke... anywho...
"Set it and forget it - the camping edition"We bought
this and are LOVING it. We took those heavy duty foil bags, filled one with carrots, potatoes, onions, green peppers, assorted spices, garlic, S&P; filled the other with a big hunk of pork - a "Boston Butt" - and garlic, assorted spices, S&P and one bottle of water. Sealed up the bags and put the meat on the lower shelf, the veggies on the upper shelf. You do this about 10 a.m. and then go riding all day long. By the time you get back at 4, 5 or 6, you're meal is done and it stays hot for a long time. The meat is so soft and tender that it literally melts in your mouth (unless you forget the water and then you've got beef jerky).
Minimal effort, maximum satisfaction, feeds many easily.
The smoker we got can also be used as a regular charcoal grill if you take the top portion off.
some pics of our last ride and of us putting together the smoker at camp... mild language...
