Hey Randy. How ya doing? Thought this was Travis. My Pal Bill raced a few weeks ago at Thunder Bowl or whatever that track is called now. He is trying to get me to come up.
Hey Matt, were doing good hope you and the family are also. I haven't been to the track in a few years, I think it's called the Bull Ring now. Travis and Meghan both lost interest in racing so we sold the race bikes and now just have the side by sides and trail bikes. Let me know if you decide to come up we'll have to go riding, we usually have a group of friends go about every two weeks or so.

Hey guys not sure if this the right place but I have a issue  with my 2004 sportsman 500 when it gets in a bind like in deep mud or pushing on a tree, hill the bike starts running very bad,and it can not shift out of the gear it is in,the shifter gets into a bind,if the bike stalls then you can move the shifter then. any help would be great tnks.....
If your idle is to high it will try to keep your sheave engaged, try turning your idle screw out a little.
5  General / Open Discussion / Re: what motor oil do u use? motorcycle or car oils?? on: February 01, 2013, 04:05:18 PM
(BACKWOODS)..... thats really odd n strange 2 say the least..ive never heard of a specific  oil, especialy not ( ROTELLA),making a bunch of bike smoke/burn oil.,,, Shocked Sad ???what oil weight was u using?..honestly ive always used advanced auto, autozone & wallmart oils and ive never had a problem,my motors/clutches last yearsssssssssss.
I use 15-40, and in the race bike which had a 510 ice cube motor in a YFZ it was great, but the top end was rebuilt after every 10 hours or so,(that was because of the JE piston specs) the bottom end was as clean as when new. In the other atv's I haven't had any clutch or bottom end issues but they all started burning oil at about the same time after I put rotella in them. I also use k and n air filter's and we live and ride in the Ocala national forest which get's very dusty (but I clean and oil them often) and I am not sure if that is the problem. HuhHuh
6  General / Open Discussion / Re: what motor oil do u use? motorcycle or car oils?? on: February 01, 2013, 07:47:18 AM
We started using rotella in my son's race bike on the advice of an engine builder and it seemed to work great so I started using it in our other atv's (660 rhino,660 grizzly and a 700 grizzly) and after a short time they all started burning oil and blue smoking when they were cold. Has anyone who uses rotella experienced that ?
7  General / Racing Scene / Re: where is the SDTA board ? on: March 30, 2012, 05:20:58 PM
I have to say that as a family we lost interest when the amount of quads went down and the motorcycles took over. Back then it did seem as though the 2wheelers were the main choice of SDTA. Just my opinion. Randy

That is one of the reasons that we decided to leave Collier County, did you see where those worthless excuses for humans where from.
9  General / Open Discussion / Re: Deer season at Ocala on: November 05, 2011, 09:09:42 AM
We were riding at Ocala on the centennial trail on Saturday and the place was flooded with people hunting deers with thier dogs.  Not sure if they were actually hunting since I don't know what the exact season is, but my friend and I were getting dirty looks and one "F-you" from the guys in thier trucks.  Should us riders stay clear from Ocala until deer season is over?  Also it seems pretty dangerous if you run up on the dogs and a deer and you both cross a fire road with the hunter aiming from the roof of his truck.  I was getting worried we were going to start hearing dualing banjo's for a while
I live in hog valley and ride and hunt the forest. I am a still hunter not a dog hunter, if you stay north of 316 there is no dog hunting allowed and most hunters are smart enough to stay off of the FEW trails that we have left to ride. I have had a few run ins with dog hunters myself and most are ok but a few feel that during season they own the forest and only they should be there.

On a personal level I can definitely agree with everyone that the lack of destinations and "play" areas is disheartening.  I grew up here on the Ocala National Forest and although I was not an avid rider, I did enjoy many activities that have been closed or restructured over the last decade.  My personal feeling is that the Rodman dam pit should be open.  I do not see where there will be much growth coming back due to the damage of mining the sand and dirt in the first place.  I can say that there will be more destinations when the trail systems connect (Mill Dam, Juniper, Shanty Pond, etc.), but the timeframe for the connection will be later rather than sooner.  The Centennial Trail is on two destinations (Blue Sink Water Hole and Farles Prairie-Lakes), but that does not help riders on the north end right now.  The north trails have connected to the Salt Springs Shops and the 88 Store though as they move farther south.
A quick note about the Wiregrass trail.  I have been attempting to knock down the whoops and keep the trail as clear as possible.  Hopefully the rain has helped me a little, but the past month's fire situations and critical projects have really kept me off all trails.  The Western half of the trail still needs a lot of my attention.  The powerline portion was disced with the tractor repeatedly a couple weeks ago and has been "destroyed" again by heavy truck use.  It is unfortunate that this portion of the trail shares vehicle traffic.
I will be at my Annual Training for the National Guard from July 8th thru July 24th.  I will attempt to pass on some upkeep work to another employee during that timeframe, but again no promises.  I appreciate everyone who does come out to ride and the feedback I get, positive or negative.  Some things I cannot improve upon or change, but I will try and address them as best as possible.
-Kris
Hey Kris..you seem to be the only person involved in the trail system that really understands the people who actually use the trails, and while you may not be able to change the things that we feel unreasonable we do appreciate your hard work and input. Thanks

OK, maybe you are in the 10% of rednecks that arent tough guy wannabes.  But come on man, you have to admit, most places that attract a bunch of rowdy drinking rednecks always end up the same way........with trouble.  I have a bunch of redneck friends, all of which fall into the 10% non douche catagory so please dont take offense, I'm not casting a stereotype, just stating a fact.
No offense taken, just saying that it can happen with any type of D-Bags that want nothing more than trouble. Dunno

This is the exact reason I stay away from redneck gatherings.  Add alcohol to jackass's to begin with = trouble
What's up with the redneck remark? The post said (A) beer can, nothing about anyone being drunk, I don't know about you but I can drink (A) beer and not be drunk. Some people just look for trouble without reason, so if you don't like the same thing as others then you SHOULD stay away, but not stereotype everyone. Wink

What is this 88 store connector?

It is the newest part in the extension of the Northern Trail system towards the south end of the Forest.  This part of the trail will begin at the 316 Trail Head, cross CR316, and then continue about 4 miles until it reaches a corral built just in the woods from the 88 Store on FR11 (used to be FR88).  You can stop at this corral and walk up into the store for food, supplies, fuel among other things.

We should be opening this section VERY soon since I am finishing up the signs and carsonite posts for this section over the weekend.

As time progresses, we will continue to open "already-approved" trails that will eventually connect the Northern OHV Trail System with the Centennial OHV Trail System.  (These trails will span across the portion of forest in between CR314 and HWY40.
I take it that you are some how involved in the trail system, let me ask you how long you have been involved and what you think about the system they have now. I will tell you that I know it is more dangerous than before there was a designated trail system. What do you think?

Hey Shawn, no need to explain. The complainers are either new to racing on clay (it is not dirt) or they just want to complain. When we were racing we understood that it was crazy to think that just because we went to the track that no matter what we were going to race! We went to Eastbay,Jasper,Valdosta, and Thunder Bowl and knew that it all depended on the weather. Good luck to you all.  Randy

I don't know how to carry over a post but if you look under open discussion on page 4 there is a post from Grizzly Bear about the Oct. 14 2009 state ohv meeting that covers it. Thanks and good luck.

Travis and Meghan started racing at t-bowl when Brady first took it over,we had a lot of good times, met a lot of good people and made a lot of good friends, we will miss all of it very much. We all want to thank Brady, Rick, Liz, Teddy and Jennifer for a job well done.                          Randy, Jean, Travis And Meghan

I don't think it's the neutral switch because you said it clicks,if it is not in neutral or the switch is bad it should not do anything. Next time try jumping across the starter relay,(make sure it's in neutral) if it starts it is probably the relay if it clicks it is probably a bad conection or low battery.

Hey speedy it's spelled (hypocrite).  Kiss Also I am still waiting on your statistics that prove a two way trail is no more dangerous than a one way trail.
