Help with classification!!
I am 41 years old and have been riding since 1985. I have a KFX400 with Axis shocks all around, plus 4 rear axle, plus 3 front a-arms. I am a good rider, but have never raced. What class should I be?
I would suggest you ride the Beginner 2 class (0-400cc) in your first event, to get a feel for the scrambles format. If you win the first race, they'll promote you, so don't worry about sandbagging. If you need any info just send me a PM or go to floridatrailriders.org. SAQRA will be working on the course this weekend, anyone wanna help? Mike-it's not polite to ask someone how wide they are...you gonna ride or talk?

I'm running a K&N on my Z400 with an Outerwears on the filter and the lid. It is definitely a high-flowing filter, the key is to keep it clean and well-oiled. The reason K&N's flow so good is the medium they use is more "porous" than foam, which makes it easier for small dirt to get in. I clean mine after every ride and make sure it's fitted to the intake adapter, so far no probs.

Seminole has two MX tracks, a Supercross-style and a wider MX-style track. Both are pretty quad-friendly, but you need to comfortable jumping if you want to go fast. The trails are fun, but get pretty rough in some spots. Lots of limestone chunks that are brutal on the tires and rims. I would recommend a metal skid plate if you ride the trails to protect your rear-end. The trail length varies between 8-12 miles, depending on which sections they're using. The Peewee track is alot of fun for the kids. It's a good operation and a great place to ride, just a bit of a haul for most people to make. There's an FTR Hare Scrambles there on Jan. 13-14th, and they'll have quad classes on Saturday afternoon. Check out floridatrailriders.org for more info.

Awesome pictures, thanks for sharing. It's good to see there's still some areas left in Florida without golf courses and condos. Now if we could just see it on our quads...

Myself and the esteemed member "Mudnuri" were at the property last Saturday with the SAQRA folks getting a start on some trail-cutting. We laid out about 3-4 miles and they probably did the same on Sunday. This race is going to have something for everyone, from tight tree sections to wide-open pasture runs. This is a great way to see what you and your quad are made of, and get a few hours of high-quality "seat-time."

Seminole on saturday, moroso on sunday. Sounds like a good weekend!!
You may want to call before you haul to either location. I know Seminole shuts down after too much rain. Moroso is closed tomorrow due to all the water, may be the same for Sunday.

The easiest way is to take the Turnpike north to the PGA Blvd. exit (109). When you exit the Turnpike go west on PGA Blvd. until it ends at the Beeline Hwy. (SR 710). Go north on the Beeline about 7-8 miles, you will see the Moroso entrance on the right hand side. If you get to Indiantown Road you went too far, turn around and head south.

This is a great piece of property and a terrific place to camp and hangout. It's a little bit of a drive for some, but it's an easy drive and def worth it. We're hoping to work on course-cutting this weekend if the weather permits, will give you a report. The quad scrambles are a blast, and you get more than your money's worth compared to an MX race.

I'll definitely be there. I rode it last week on my YZ250F, should be a really fun quad track. Hopefully it'll dry out a little bit, we've had nonstop rain here since last night. Moroso should put something on their site letting quadders know about this, the initial word was no quads 'til Spring. Have you posted about this on Floridaquadriders.com yet? If not you should.

So are you saying there is practice for quads on Sunday, or are you trying to get alot of people to show up so they see how many quadders there are? There is already a rumor circulating that quads can ride this Sunday, and it could be a negative thing if that's not the case.

RAD 700R: You should be able to make it in 3-3.5 hours from Broward, depending on which way you go.
450R: You could ride the Beginner 2 class, for riders with little or no Scrambles experience. Check out the FTR website for info about number plate colors/letters, you'll also need a tether.

Here's an update from the FTR Prez Randy Faul on what we have to look forward to this weekend:
"As promised, the latest on our quad event. Those of you that rode the benefit race know how much fun the track was, so in keeping the fun factor job #1, we have laid out some really nice trail for you guys. The mileage is about 7.5, which consist of a bunch of new woods trail, fresh/virgin areas that we didn't use at the benefit. We also found a brand new piece that we just worked today that was hidden, it's sweet. We added some really neat hill climbs that our lady quad rider found and a new bridge that eliminates any water crossings, that means the water crossing before the finish is gone.We had to use some of the old trail to connect to the new stuff, but, the landowner has completely graded almost 80% of the trail we are using, so no whoops or chop.It will be on the fast side overall, but it will bring a smile to your face. Plenty of areas to air it out and pass with no bottle necks. The cook house will be open Friday evening/night for those who need their services, with burgers, dogs, fries, drinks, strawberry shortcake to tie you over until Saturday when they fix the big meals . They will also have breakfast with bisquits and gravy, eggs, bacon, grits, ect. Coffee, tea, and sodas. Just a couple things for the weekend. The benefit event was on their best behavior and has really impressed the landowner, so lets follow in the footsteps already made by keeping our pits litter free. We were unable to obtain a dumpster, so please be prepaired to take your trash with you. As the forecast calls for some rain Friday, it will be a blessing because right now it is on the dry side, so we need the rain. We already anticipated getting some rain so we laid the course out with that in mind, we should not have no mud holes or swamps. We will also have T-shirts available with kids and lady sizes. Gates open at 4:00 pm Friday with food being served until 10:00. This will also probably be the best quad scramble you will go to, please come and enjoy it."
Y'all come on out and support the Quad Scrambles series, it's gonna be a blast!
