Thats very true and a great point...My post argued that I can ride the horse almost everywhere I would like to around here and the ATV has to sit in the garage. And I personally feel that I am more of a risk to myself and everyone around me being on a wild animal rather than the ATV.

Just my thoughts on the system and the legalities of ATVs and ... our equestrian 'animal's. For the record I own and ride both ATVs and horses. The world belongs to everyone and its here for everyone share and enjoy...But this doesn't seem to be true for our community. Horses, a wild animal, to which you can never claim to have full control of are free to ride and its a federal offense if you do not do everything in your power as a motorists to prevent the animal in control by the rider or not from killing someone. Which in many cases means slowing or even stopping to prevent 'spooking' the animal. This is legal and these animals are not considered any kind of risk at all. The rider is not required to be trained nor do they require an age limit. In the hands of a professional these animals are still unpredictable and dangerous. It is agreed that in the wrong hands an ATV is often deadly due to ignorance but at any point in time the ATV can just be turned off. No spook, no instincts and the machine makes no decisions by its self. I was just written another ticket and as I sat there a group of horse riders rode by...the same group to which a few minutes earlier I had stopped and turn my engine off to let them pass by. They thanked me and I started up after they were clear. They had turned around and were heading home when they rode by they said nothing they didn't even look my direction. The ticket does not bother me at all I consider it my riding fee what does bother me is the system. I work hard every day all day and my hobby is illegal. I get treated like a criminal and harassed. The police offer talks down to me and pulls up his belt line like hes doing the community a favor. Idle hands ARE the devils handy work. Its a good thing the officer was around to ticket me, I am a wild nut and a danger to society. ![Roll Eyes](http://www.atvflorida.com/forum/Smileys/default/rolleyes.gif)

I rode a lot this weekend and I passed a lot of cops and no ATV's. I was wearing my helmet and following the rules, no need to hassle me. They may have taken care of the kids and we can only hope they did so in time.

Yea I could try talking to them but they just seem like a bunch of punks ya know? You get on to them about somthing and they drive twice as fast and take more chances just to be rebellious and then someone ven more likely to get hurt. Its not really my place to say though.

Yes I am. Or could ride down there and call the cops from my cell and wait for them to arrive and demand that that be issued citations just like I was written when I was riding illegally. That would be selfish, I will let the police take care of these kids when they have time. Remember they ride on weekends and after school ![Cheesy](http://www.atvflorida.com/forum/Smileys/default/cheesy.gif) !! Whats even funnier is all these kids know who I am and they know my little brother. I dont care, they are all unsafe.

That is a double standard. Im sure the moderators would not aprove of a video which shows ATV riders running from the police. Thats illegal, and illegal is against TOS. My video was removed because it violated the rules. My sig was also removed for violating the rules.

Hopefully PBSO_ATV_DEPUTY will read this. I am making a statment in reguards to illegal ATVing which is occouring in Loxahatchee on North Road in between D Road and B road. These kids are the reason we will not get to enjoy the new law here in PBC. They speed down the road on blasters and raptors with no protection what so ever in complete disreguard for any safety at all. I dont want to phone in a 'complaint' to the sheriff's office because then it would be just another complaint against our community. Maybe the sheriff's who monitor the forums here will pick up on this and deal with these kids and even more importantly the parents.
