1  General / Open Discussion / Another Street Legal ATV Title Question on: January 27, 2009, 03:45:14 PM
I may be able to get my hands on a Yamaha with a street legal title in another state. It says "AT" in the body type area and does not say "off road" anywhere on the title. What do you guys think? Think it would fly through the Florida DMV?
2  General / Tech Corner / Rincon Fault Codes on: January 26, 2009, 09:48:51 PM
Does anyone here know how to retrieve fault codes from the dash? I know your supposed to hold a couple buttons while turning ignition on, but not sure which ones. I'm trying to diagnose a shift problem on an 07.
3  General / Open Discussion / Re: is anything selling? on: December 06, 2008, 07:31:59 PM
I listed my Swamp Buggy on Ebay and CraigsList. I was asking $2000. The Ebay auction didn't even come close and the only calls I got from CraigsList was for trades.... and mostly junk trucks or old junk ATVs. I finally got the call where the guy wanted to trade for an airboat straight up, which was good because thats what I was selling the Buggy for. I didn't get a single call offering money from CraigsList and I posted the sh*t out of it.

SykoLincoln is right, Its a whole lot easier and quicker to trade.... and The Cycle Trader is a huge waste of money.

5  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Questions about L-Cross on: October 11, 2008, 01:18:57 AM
The whole park is pretty big. The mud is how you look at it. They seem to pump allot more water in for the Adult events then the Family events or the monthly Adult events. The Adult events held every other month are pretty packed and a whole sh*t load of fun. The Labor Day event must have been the muddiest one yet, even the back road in the camp area was full of mud and ruts. This was the first weekend they opened for the new monthly Adult event, which is why nobody was there.... because nobody knows about it yet. Even when the word is out, it will probably not be as busy as the semi monthly Adult event.

These pics are from Labor Day.

6  General / Open Discussion / Re: Registering an unregistered trailer on: September 24, 2008, 07:58:55 PM
I hear this is new. If you are getting a tag for your trailer in Broward county (maybe the whole state)  you need to get it weighed first. $10. If you have not had it weighed already or the weight on the previous registration.

There are a few local companies that will weigh it for you. Again $10.  Smiley

I have done it many of times. If you are registering a trailer that you either built or don't have a registration you will have to have a weight slip from any certified weight scale. If you are going the homemade route, they will have you fill out a short form asking where you got the parts.... which is very simple "Northern Tool". It is a very easy process and pretty cheap as well.
7  General / Open Discussion / Re: holylands question about buggys on: September 16, 2008, 02:13:14 AM
sounds good to me, just gotta work out something as for brake lights

I think as long as everything else is there, they may not mess with you about the brake light. My buggy doesn't even have brakes.... or a brake pedal.
8  General / Open Discussion / Re: holylands question about buggys on: September 15, 2008, 02:16:58 PM
ok got a question. i have a swamp buggy, i would liketo go out to holylands and use it, not for hunting, just pleasure cruise. what do i need to make it "legal" meaning permits

The only thing you may need is a flag to ride at Holeylands. I couldn't find anything in the 08-09 hunting book that says anything about a buggy, so I figure If an ATV or AirBoat needed a flag, a buggy may also. As soon as your buggy hits the levy it will need headlamps, taillamps and brake lights.
9  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: L-CROSS "END OF THE SUMMER BASH" LABORDAY WEEKEND ADULT EVENT!!!! on: September 12, 2008, 06:02:53 PM
It looks like L-Cross is now having an Adult Event the first weekend of every month.
10  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Broward County Riding on: September 11, 2008, 03:22:14 PM
I think I'm gonna stick with my rancher for a while anyway. I haven't even Rodin it enough to figure out i don't like it. just gonna do a lift and a snorkel kit and see if it does what i want it to do...

We have a Rancher as well, the only problem we have had was the Electronic Shift. Other then that its pretty unstopable.
11  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Broward County Riding on: September 11, 2008, 03:26:31 AM
On another note... Anybody have any thoughts about a decision I need to make?  03 Rincon or 03 Grizzly 660...

I'm a Honda Die Hard Fan. I own a 06 Rincon.... If I could go back in time, I would give it back and get a foreman. It runs great, but the tranny sucks, the radiator is too low and it doesn't have enough ground clearance for its weight.
12  General / Tech Corner / 05 Honda Recon Carb Problem on: August 16, 2008, 01:02:49 AM
My daughters 05 Recon recently started to flow gas into the airbox when idling. Does anyone know what the cause is? It sat at the dealer for so long waiting for them to fix the brakes under warranty (5 times) that the gas probably went bad.

Wet-t-shirt contests on both nights and a visit from the CHEETAH GIRLS!!! This event is truly EXTREME and one you don't want to miss!!! Vendors serving breakfast, lunch and dinner on site.

Hope everyone has been having a FUN & SAFE SUMMER!!! Grin

You must be at least 18 years old to attend adult events. For more information about L-Cross extreme events visit our web site at:

                      www.l-cross.com or call 863-763-0569

Patty, aren't the Cheetah Girls a little too young to be attending the Adult Event? My daughter used to watch them on the Disney channel, but I'm pretty sure she outgrew them.... shes 13.
17  General / Open Discussion / Shop Floor Paint on: August 06, 2008, 04:08:19 PM
Has anyone here painted a shop floor? I just leased a bigger shop (2500 sf) and was thinking about making the floor all pretty and such.

What paint did you use? How much cleanup of the bare floor did you do? Did you prime the floor prior to painting? How did it hold up?

I'm wondering if its worth the aggravation to do it myself or worth the money to hire someone to come do it.
18  General / Group Rides & Events / Re: Okeechobee Mudfest Is Back on on: August 06, 2008, 04:03:10 PM

19  General / Open Discussion / Re: street legal atv on: July 30, 2008, 01:32:33 AM
Its not the registration, Its the title. To make an ATV street legal you have to get the "off road" on the title off and the "motorcycle" on. I have been looking into it for a while and I guess now have to do it before the end of the year.

To start, you have to make the necessary changes (lights, turn sig, mirrors, wheels and tires) to DOT specs. Then take a long ass road trip to a state that will inspect the quad and change the title to a motorcycle title. At that point you will have to pay all the titling fees and taxes. Then you can re-register the quad back here in Florida along with the titling fees and taxes again, the idiots at your local tag office wont know the difference because the title is now a motorcycle title. The only catch is.... If it was previously registered in Florida it will set a red flag and may complicate the whole registration process.

but..........
there is a farm vehicle clause and I have shown the paperwork and links to a few members of this site. State of Florida will allow you to register an off road vehicle with plates for the purpose of "temporary on-road use". You can either dig through my posts from back in 2003-2004 or just go to any dmv in Ocala or Polk County and they should be able to help you. I was allowed to do it but I actually knew back then someone that owned an Orange grove in Lake Placid but then the dreaded :08 accident happened and there went my Banshee.

Yes, but not all of us here have friends that own Orange Groves, Live in Ocala or want a slow moving vehicle. And I do believe a slow moving vehicle is only allowed on certain roads in certain areas. I don't think I would be successful convincing a Sunrise PD officer that I'm on my way home from picking oranges at 2am.

no bike, rick case honda has mine...died out at holylands

The next call you get from the service dept at Rick Case will be them telling you that there was air in the cylinder and its not covered under warranty.

Hunters, too, complained that ATV riders disturbed game near their hunting stands.

Wait until this years hunting season. I cant even imagine how many ATVers are going to get a Hunt License, strap a shotgun to the front rack and ride until the wheels fall off.

I'm a repossessor trying to repo a truck right off I-95 and I need to know If its on the on ramp or in the hotel parking lot.

If anyone can help, please call me @ 954.448.6980 anytime tonight preferably real soon.

How come you never have any in Broward, Dade or WPB?? I would be there for you.

Because Im in Broward, its easy for me to run around here. Most of the repos are in Miami where the leasing companies customer base is. This guy usually parks in Miami, but may not be coming all the way in because he knows its out for repo. I would hate to get up there to find that he is sleeping in the truck.... usually they dont want to get out of it which makes it hard to repo.... and makes one heck of an expensive wasted trip.
