I went there last weekend and couldn't believe how many whoops there are!!! Even the far off trails up to the North were full of them. Do you think they could groom the main trails every once in a while?!?!?!
You pretty much have to ride standing up the whole time.
After being at Durham Town and some other very nice parks up North, what a difference, sadly.

Funny thing is that because of the ATV trails, I think the fire didn't spread as fast. I saw where the fire was and the trails helped control it as well as give the firemen better access to it.

Went riding there yesterday and on the way out there was FWC at the entrance blocking everyone from coming out. Each person that came out he stopped and gave a mandatory summons to appear in court! He also said that no one can park inside or outside so don't come back.
Great, another place gone. I love that place. You can't blame them. Every time I have been there, there is always some not a very nice person popping wheelies on Bird Rd. I don't get, with all that land inside that you can do whatever you want, you have to go on to the road to do stupid sh*t.
Anyway, if you go out there be careful.

General / Open Discussion / Any North GA riders?

Hi, I just bought a cabin in North GA, by Blue Ridge. I was wondering if anyone here rides up there? Also, if you know a better forum to find out trails for up there? I hear Tellico is cool, but is shut down right now because of some tree huggers.
Thanks!

General / Where to Ride? / Help plan ATV trip

Hey all, I'm from So Fla and planning an ATV trip for June 6 - 8 (in two weeks). I've done Croom and Ocala, so I wanted to either head into GA or I heard that Tate's Hell is pretty good in the panhandle. What do you guys think? Driving up Friday, ride Sat & Sun, drive back on Monday.
Here are the parks/places I had in mind: - Tate's - Durhamtown - anything else?
Do either one have two days worth of riding?
Thanks in advance!
-Alex

I was driving down to the Pit BBQ on 8st in Miami on Sunday with my family and of course those who know the area know that it is right next to an ATV riding spot. Anyway, As I'm driving down this 4 lane highway (speed limit is 55mph), two sport ATVs come out of the woods and jump on to the street right in front of me and race down the street in between cars!!! I had to brake or I would have hit them. Then they pull off into the median and turn around and go back into the woods. I was so pissed off!! I felt like just driving down there and beating the crap out of them. If I didn't have my kid in the car, this would have been a totally different story. Anyway, then you wonder why people hate ATVers. Or when he gets hit by a car then "ATVs are dangerous!" The thing that really gets me is that there are hundreds if not thousands of acres back there to ride and they have to choose the busy highway.
Ok, I'm done venting now!
Holey Lands was nice and wet last week, it was awesome.
Later.

General / Open Discussion / Where to find flags to ride in Holey Lands?
|
on: March 15, 2007, 12:50:13 PM

I'm planning on heading there this weekend but my friends said they were giving out tickets to people with the wrong size flags last weekend. I've gone to every place around town, ATV dealer, Pep boys, bike shops, Target, Walmart, etc. No one has the right size flag to ride.
Does anyone know where to buy the flags? Is there somewhere online?
I have a small triangle flag I bought from the bike store but my friend had one and they still gave him a $65 ticket because it was too small.
Thanks for the help!

The best thing I have spent my money on is a winch! It was worth it the first time I used it. I think I use it about every time I got out there. Usually another bike can pull you out but I have gotten stuck worse than that and the winch has pulled me out. And I have a Polaris Sportsman 500 4x4.

I was there today. Pretty fun. Since Holey lands is only Levee riding right now, I figured I'd try something new. Where is the Coral Springs spot? You can PM me if you don't want to post it.
Thanks.

I went to Holey on Sunday. It was completely flooded! About 2 feet of water in every trail. Also two things that people should know before they go out there: 1) Flags are required now, they won't let you ride unless you have them. 2) Hunting season started. Which means you are only allowed to ride the levees. $55 fine if they catch you riding in the trails. Hunting Season end Feb 5. Sooo, levees are fun and all but, I want some trails!?!?! Any other places around Broward? I did check out Seminole tribe Motocross trail. That was fun! It's about an 8 mile trail. Very technical, reminded me of a mountain bike trail (Markham, Oleta). Pretty fun, but very tight. There were a couple of parts where I my ATV scraped the trees. I would go there every once in a while but I would like a better place to go get dirty there was no mud there as it is designed for dirt bikes. Let me know if there are any other place to ride. Thanks!
