Don't blame the breed?
Are you kidding me? Would you mind telling me what all dog breeds have in common? Their breed largely determines what they are capable of and how they will behave, that is the purpose of breeding. Pits are killers, they were bred that way! Once they attack they attack to kill, unlike many other breeds that might snap or bite, they usually will stop the attack by themselves, when commanded to do so, when the attackee beats them off, PITS don't do that, they will continue to attack regardless of anything. Destroy the breed!

The only reason pit bulls get a bad rap is because they have a lot of muscle and are loving PROTECTIVE dogs. People who are trying to protect their property because they have sh*t to hide (drug dealers, theives) get pits and train them to basically rip anything apart that comes in its path. Kids that dont get enough attention and love do the same thing. I dont own a pit and never have but theres no reason i wouldnt. Blame the owner not the breed. Very sorry to hear about your dog.
Wrong, when a terrier goes bananes they don't rip peoples throats out, Pits were bred to be exactly what they are, killers. Yes many are very sweet, but IT IS in their nature to tear you apart.

There's a couple ways you could go, the easiest way is for me to tell you where it is, then you look at a map and choose the easiest route for you, It's right off exit 231 on I-95. That exit is for Scottsmoor, about 30 miles south of Daytona and 15 miles north of Titusville.

oh an PS, everyone had better be wearing their helmets, either that or don't bother taking pictures to post here of what responsible and respectful ATV riders do with their spare time.
Just because someone doesnt wear their helmet does not mean they are neither responsible nor respectful. I have done several clean up rides and am always respectful of those around me, and I rarely wear my helmet. I understand for posting pics on this site but dont act like because someone doesnt wear a helmet that they are a bad person. Let me know the new date and I will do my best to be there. I completely agree with you lol I was making a point...

That sure is a tough schedule, i can't think of any other team in America that could manage to make it though that schedule.

I keep reading these posts over the years and see that many folks have difficulty determining what is and what is not a legal riding area. After much thought and study, I've developed a test that anyone with 1/2 a brain can use to determine whether or not a place is legal for riding. Here goes!!!! Legal Areas - 1. State or Federal owned land designated for ATV use with proper permitting as required; 2. Property you own in areas (municipalities, counties, etc.) that permit riding; and 3. Private property which the owner has given you express permission to ride upon, preferably in writing. Illegal Areas - EVERYTHING ELSE. END OF STORY. NOT OPEN FOR INTERPRETATION, DISCUSSION OR ARGUE. Apply this 100% correct and fool-proof test to your riding area determinations. If you do, you can't go wrong. ![Wink](http://www.atvflorida.com/forum/Smileys/default/wink.gif) That's interesting, makes it sound like you prefer only riding where it's legal. hmmm http://www.atvflorida.com/forum/index.php/topic,20001.msg253115.html#msg253115Your friends say that's an illegal spot.

I copied this in from another thread. It's my idiot proof test. Although, I am beginning to wonder if some folks might still screw it up..........

I'm not condoning his action!!I think he did wrong too. I Think they have their work cut out for them , that's all. This is like having a bad neighbor tell you someone stole his car and if you saw who did it, would you tell him? The officials push people out of riding area's and don't expect conflict...it's gonna happen.I wouldn't do something like shooting, that's extreme. But I expect conflicts to happen. And I'm not displaying any kind of attitude, I'm just saying the enevitable. We get a bad rap no matter what we do!!
The next time you believe you have a decent thought that you feel the need to share with the rest of us via posting on this forum........just let it go. You are an absolute idiot. Please, for the sake of the rest of us with a measurable IQ, please stop posting......forever. are you stupid as you sound a--hole if he doesnt have the right to voice his opinion neither do you but thats y we live in the usa so get over it No doubt, i love how some people think that their opinion is the only one that matters and what they say goes. Get over yourselves.

Just imagine what would have happened if he had actually hit him and killed the officer. Anyone that turns a blind eye to ATV issues would immediately start looking at ATV riders as gun toting outlaws that would rather shot than get a ticket.
Bill
The article i saw said an unknown type of firearm, it never said if it was a paintball gun, cap gun or real gun. Still shouldn't do it, you're obviously playing with fire, but we don't know what actually happened.

General / Open Discussion / Re: Marion County opts out
|
on: December 13, 2006, 07:12:02 AM

I just came from the public hearing where Marion County opted out of the atv law. We outnumbered the people who were there wanting the County to opt out. BUT, I believe we were our own worst enemy. Everyone speaking for the other side had tails of horror to tell about bad ATV's who ruin property, ride to fast on roads (you have to remember we have been allowed to ride for over 2 mos) and unsupervised minors. Again. a few ruined it for a lot.
If this law had given the counties the right to modify, or partially enact it, we might have stood a chance. It was all or nothing, and they wanted to err on the part of safety.
So let me get this straight, by opting out of the law they expect that behavior to stop?

lol Did I break any terms of this site? Does simply disagreeing with the owner of this site on one subject mean i don't "Belong" here as you say? Some of you crack me up.

Are you saying i'm suggesting people should break the law and ride without helmets? Oh wait, you're on a high horse preaching to people about what another adult should or shouldn't do to be safe while obeying the law that says HELMETS ARE NOT REQUIRED. Well i think it's unsafe for you to drive to work, in order for you to avoid having an accident i think you should sit in your house with no electricity and never move for fear of stubbing a toe or setting a fire. hmmmmm... Not so funny when one person tries to make an arbitrary rule that says what YOU should or shouldn't do as long as you're following laws and behaving like an adult and making their own decissions. ![Kiss](http://www.atvflorida.com/forum/Smileys/default/kiss.gif)

Not trying to sound like a jerk but bottom line is it's Mr Bones site and he makes the rules. If he says no helmet no post then it's no helmet no post. Like it or not it's his rules. We don't have to agree we just have to abide.
I disagree with that as well. A site, especially a forum does not exist without the input of it's members. The "nerve" of one person to say my way or the highway on a forum is not my idea of a "Community". Debate and disagreement, democracy is the founding principle of our country... Like I said,we don't have to agree with the rules we just have to abide by them.Believe me this site will and has existed following this simple rule since it's conception. If you had to pay to be a member of this site you would have a better argument but it's free. It doesn't take "nerve" to police the rules if you own and run the site. It's been a long time since I joined but I think it states the rules before you agree to become a member "I'm not being sarcastic either". He can do whatever he want's with this site including deleting posts, blocking forums, banning certain members and ultimately shutting the site down if he chooses because he owns it.I for one would be bummed if he did ban me so I have no problem following his rules. He's the boss and makes the rules on here like it or not. You completely and utterly miss the point, just because you "can" do something, doesn't mean you "should". A forum is ENTIRELY dependent upon it's members continuous input.

There is no helmet law in Florida either however Riding a ATV is a semi dangerous activity and wearing a helmet shows responsiblity and doesnt promote unsafe riding.
The problem i have with it is that i have a different idea of "Unsafe" riding.
