3  General / Open Discussion / Re: cold weather is here on sunday!!! on: October 01, 2011, 10:36:33 AM
The 70's is cold for us Florida people that have been
dealing with upper 90's for the last 6 months. Today
is the first time in a long time that I can open my
windows and let fresh air into the house. So to most
of us the 70's is cold. Today is a great day.

But still you don't want to get caught entering or leaving the place. You will
get into trouble. If you go be careful not stupid.

That's great news, we love to camp and ride at Croom. Been doing it
for almost 15 years. It's the best. Hope the camp host is better than
the last one. He was never there, until you got ready to leave. Then
he would always find something we did wrong. So away ways, Grin
Yea on the reopening of the camp ground Wink

That's nuts and great at the same time.
7  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Official Croom Thread on: September 10, 2011, 10:50:12 AM
Still $60.00 a year is a lot of money when you can't camp. I can't afford
the gas for a day trip when I live 70 miles 1 way away. What is the deal
with shutting down the camp ground any ways?
8  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Flags on: September 08, 2011, 12:55:47 PM
Flags are a good thing. I have found while riding on a blind turn sometimes you will see a flag coming at you before you see the atv. The flag is way up in the air sometimes it can be seen over the bushes and through the trees. Flag can help to prevent some accidents. We use flags everywhere but Croom.

I really think they screwed up when they raised the camping rates and the so call camp host (what a butt) entered into the picture.
Croom was a cash cow for the state until they got greedy. I paid $80.00 a year per bike (4) and $12.00 a nite to camp. But then they raised it to $24.00 a nite. If they had left everything the way they were for a lot of years, the state would still have there cash cow. But when they was charging $55.00 per bike we figured they made about $450,000.00 is sticker sales in one year, not including the $12.00 per nite per camp site. That was a lot of money the state just gave up because of their own greed. Put Croom back to the was it was and start making money again.
This is just my opinion.
10  General / Open Discussion / Re: 2011 polaris 800 on: September 02, 2011, 01:59:31 PM
We only ride and by Honda's. Our oldest one is an 1985 350X,
and all we have ever done to it is service & chains. The foreman's
have gone to hell and back with no problems. I ride River Ranch with
a couple of people that have Polaris, they are always having to fix
something. Big Red all the way.

12  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Official Croom Thread on: August 09, 2011, 05:08:02 PM
I heard they shut down the camp ground and that they are only opened 3 days a week.
How true is this? Has anyone else heard this story?
13  General / Where to Ride? / Re: ONF on: August 01, 2011, 03:33:00 PM

14  General / Open Discussion / Re: Crystal River woman dies in atv crash on: July 21, 2011, 03:59:52 PM
People will read this and say look an Atv killed someone. They wont see it as a
person losing control of the Atv and causing a crash, that resulted in a death.
Atv's don't kill people.
15  General / Open Discussion / Re: Croom on: July 10, 2010, 12:45:02 PM
Well we went to Croom. Arrived early sat the 3rd stayed until
tues the 6th. Very very quite. At most only 6 campers. Could
ride for ever and not see anyone. I was great. They will be closing
for 3 weeks to do some up keep and what ever. All in all we had
a great time and will go back. Oh by the way the camp host was
never there. He showed up the day we was leaving and became
a butt hole. Happy trails

Even with the heat and the economy has it slowed people down
from going to Croom?
17  General / Open Discussion / Croom on: June 14, 2010, 12:20:40 PM
Who's going to Croom on the 4th of July?
We are thinking about it. Haven't been for
awhile and it's new permit time.
18  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Official Croom Thread on: June 11, 2010, 01:43:07 PM
Is it crowed on holidays. It used to be you couldn't get on camp site
on a holiday weekend. Is the poor economy keeping people away?

21  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Directions to the Powerlines heading to Big Scrub on: May 14, 2010, 11:44:36 AM
You need to pick up a map or visit the website for trailheads.
Parking anywhere else could get you in trouble.

charges more for less. Oh Well
24  General / Where to Ride? / Coal Creek on: May 13, 2010, 05:11:17 PM
