I need intake and exhaust if you have them.   Thanks

Thanks for the tip.  I replaced the waterpump/counterbalancer bearings 2 yrs ago when the waterpump seal went out.  But I will check those too while I'm in there.  Anything else I should look for?  thanks again

OK, did some measuring in the bore.  The bottom of the cylinder bore is almost 11 thousands of an inch larger than the top of the bore.  no wonder.  guess I'll take the case apart and make sure nothing is wrong down below and bore and piston it.

yeah, thanks.  The cylinder looks great.  No deep scoring like I expected to see after a piston came apart.  I'll take the bottom end apart and make usre everything is alright in there before I put it back together.

What does a cylinder bore cost?  Any reason a regular machine shop can't do it?

thanks again for the info.

Hey gang.  been gone a while.  uhhhhh     what makes a piston come apart?  I have a polaris 400L.  good oil mixture, and not ran hot.  I don't have it all the way apart yet, but the skirt on the intake side is broken off and I don't know what else is damaged yet.  Any ideas?
7  General / Tech Corner / parts interchange on: August 08, 2006, 08:40:53 PM
Is there a website I can use to see what parts will interchange?  I need to buy a CDI unit for a honda, and am wondering if any will interchange with the model I have.  Thanks
8  General / Tech Corner / polaris fuel/oil ratio on: July 26, 2006, 08:04:25 AM
My friend just bought a 95 sportsman that has been using mixed gas for a while now.  It oil fouls plugs on a regular basis (at least with this original tank of fuel) so I'm guessing the ratio is too rich.   Anyone know what the ratio should be?

If the oil pump still works, would there be any harm in filling the oil tank and letting it mix that way again?

thanks

I see everyone talking about Big Scrub Campground, but is there anything wrong w/ Lake Delancy? I am coming from Green Cove Springs, and know it is a little closer.

Thanks for the info.......again.

Hi all.  New to riding in Fl. as I live in North Carolina and am down here visiting family.  Am looking for some information that I cannot find in other posts, or on ONF's website.  I am planning a trip to spend the night in a campground in ONF with my 2 ATVs, and my parents 2 as well.   Just trying to find out some info from someone other than a ranger.

1. What are Florida's age restrictions for ATV's?
2. Do they have any?
3. Helmet laws?  (for the record, my kids wear them always, but not sure about making my dad wear one)
4. Are there any convenience stores near Big Scrub Campground?
this is where I am planning on spending the night and just wondering how easy it will be to get something if we need it.

Anyway, thanks for all the info I've already gotten from you and thanks for a great site.
