2  General / Open Discussion / Re: Any old members still around? on: February 25, 2017, 11:12:05 PM
Funny you started this thread. I joined back in 2006 I think and haven't been on this site in ages. The good old days on here were the best. Time sure does fly!
3  General / Open Discussion / ATV Brake Pads on: February 25, 2017, 11:10:38 PM
Hi all,

Seeking assistance on finding the best brake pads for my 2006 Arctic Cat TRV 500. I will need front and rear pads. What should I get? What to avoid?

Thanks!

Funny you mention you don't use Facebook. I have few friends who are so anti facebook too.
5  General / Open Discussion / Hello again... on: February 23, 2017, 12:30:33 AM
Hi all,

I was working on my atv tonight and had a free moment to browse around on the computer and wondered it ATV FL was still around. I just had to see if I remembered my user name and password to login and BAM I was in!

Looks like the forum hasn't been as busy as it once was probably due to facebook.

Hope all is well!

Rob

I haven't been on ATV FL in so long I decided to catch up and see whats going on and I couldn't believe that I found this thread on the second page  Wink

UPDATE!!!!

As of Dec 23, 2009 I was let go by my employer and paid off all of my credit card debt through persistance and hard work. I have since gotten rid of American Express and the Home Depot credit card. I am now going to school full time and soon working a part time job to bridge the gaps while in school.
7  General / Open Discussion / Just Thought I would Share This Find... on: June 27, 2010, 08:26:49 PM
I just did a search for a repair manual for my 06 Arctic Cat TRV 4x4 and came across this site.

http://www.mymowerparts.com

The link looks like lawn mower parts, but if you just click
and go to the site you will find a ton of Polaris service
manuals as well as thousands of service manuals for
everything from chainsaws to generators.

If you find something useful - do not left click on the
file.Right click and select save as. This will cut down
on the guys server bandwidth as well as double your
download speed.

If I were on the market for a new muscle car, that GT would be in my garage in a heartbeat. If I had twice the money to spend however, it'd be a cts-v Cheesy

If I didn't have an ATV and a couple of kayaks to lug around, I would've traded in my truck for a CTS-V as well. But, having a truck is nice though.
9  General / Open Discussion / Re: Just Got My Notice Today on: October 24, 2009, 03:39:38 PM
Sorry to hear about the bad news.  I lost my job this year as well.  Regarding the timeframe that your employer gave you, don't count on being employed up to March.  Hope for the best but prepare for the worst. Keep your head up and start looking for a job right away.

Wish you the best of luck.

You're right about that. If I was a gambling man, I'd say they're going to let me go before Christmas. I am glad that I paid off 3 out of 4 credit cards this year. I did see the writing on the wall with this company.

Let's get through these tough times guys!!!
10  General / Open Discussion / Just Got My Notice Today on: October 22, 2009, 07:27:51 PM
I just got my notice today from my employer that I will be let go between December and March of 2010 due to the ecomomy and real estate sales. If I'm lucky, I will be able to stay employed through March and hopefully the project will take off and last long enough for me to stay employed. On the bright side of things, if I get let go I will have plenty of time on my hands to go riding and finish up with school.

The time to eliminate your debt is today, when the economy is bad! Then, in a couple of years, lending terms will improve and you'll have already been on your way to improving your credit history, instead of still being in debt.

Good point. My credit card debt is almost paid off! I can't wait to put all that money in the bank!

13  General / Open Discussion / Labor Law on: April 07, 2009, 07:53:35 PM
I am working for a company basically as a laborer / labor foreman and I am a salary employee. I feel that I should be paid over time due to working 5-6 days a week 9-10 hours a day. Remember, I am only salaried for 40 hours a week and get paid every 2 weeks. I get paid for 80 hours.

I think I qualify for overtime and should be paid for it.

What do you guys think? Attorneys advice?

14  General / Open Discussion / Re: Good Sprint phones? on: April 07, 2009, 07:38:52 PM
I had a I580 and wish I still had it. Now I have this ic902 and its a piece of crap! I haven't heard anything positive about the V950s either.
15  General / Open Discussion / YOUR HELP IS DESPERATELY NEEDED TO BRING BACK ATV RIDING AND CAMPING IN NORTH PO on: March 03, 2009, 12:05:48 PM
YOUR HELP IS DESPERATELY NEEDED TO BRING BACK ATV RIDING AND CAMPING IN NORTH PORT!!!!

If I can please ask that you send an e-mail to our commissioners TODAY letting them know you support the repeal that will once again allow ATV riding and camping in North Port.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take two minutes to write to them stating any of the following ideas I have listed below.  WE NEED ALL THE HELP WE CAN GET RIGHT NOW! The older section of North Port is voicing their opinion and they are against it ONLY BECAUSE THE NOISE ATV'S MAKE!

North Port has many, many awesome places to camp and to ride ATV's or dirt bikes but there is an ordinance in place that says you can't do either family fun-filled activities.  Not only is it good for our families to spend quality time together, but it brings money to our town since people stop for gas, food, and other necessities needed for their trip here.

Here are some things you can write about:

You can say something as  simple as "I support the repeal", or you can talk about how you enjoyed (or know people who do enjoy it) riding in areas where people don't live, or the economic impact of opening unoccupied areas again...

SEND AN EMAIL TO commissioners@cityofnorthport.com and voice your opinion!!! PLEASE, I'M BEGGING YOU!!! TOMORROW AT NOON IS THE DEADLINE TO RECEIVE THE SUPPORT WE NEED!!!

Let me know if you decide to do this for me so I can let my friend know how many people I have recruited.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND DON'T FORGET TO FORWARD THIS E-MAIL TO YOUR FRIENDS TOO!

Wonder when the Goverment will step in and tell these credit card companies to reduce thier overinflated interest rates?
17  General / Open Discussion / Re: American Express Just Lowered My Credit Limit on: February 13, 2009, 02:20:58 PM
Home Depot is also getting crappy with thier credit card. My Dad and I are really good customers there and we are now getting treated like crap. We just cut up our cards and canceled them! I am never shopping at Home Depot again!!!! I am a Lowes man now. The 3 stores that I shop here around St. Pete and Clearwater really do suck!!
18  General / Open Discussion / Re: American Express Just Lowered My Credit Limit on: February 12, 2009, 12:27:23 AM
Yes Mudder you are correct about that I do work I disagree off. I hope that my construction job holds out long enough so I can get my credit cards paid off and just save up money.  I have a lead on a part time job and hope it goes through.
19  General / Open Discussion / Re: American Express Just Lowered My Credit Limit on: February 11, 2009, 08:12:01 PM
Just Google it for more information. I'm not going to get into the details only because I don't get paid for it and won't waste my time debating it with the self-righteous. If you're in trouble with credit cards, I assure you that their are laws to help you and your families.

Thanks, I am not in trouble with credit cards at all, I just have a balance that I make way more than the minimum payment on in order to pay it off. I plan on just keeping it like that. I am seeking a second job too.
20  General / Open Discussion / Re: American Express Just Lowered My Credit Limit on: February 11, 2009, 08:06:28 PM
It's happening to everyone and is due to the fact that our economy is so fundamentally sound. In fact, those crooks are not only lowering limits, but, suddenly raising the interest rates on existing alleged debt. Banks aren't allowed to do that on car loans, home loans, etc., but, can legally due it on credit cards because they're not considered loans and thus it's alleged debt. Since they're not considered to be loans, you can default on that alleged debt, legally. Don't believe me, just Google Debt Reduction, Debt Elimination, not Debt Consolidation(hge difference). Screw them back. Now's the time. We're forgiving these very same banks and big businesses for their bad judgment/investments/loans by bailing them out with hundreds of billions our tax dollars. You can take a bailout, too.

Good point.

Does the debt reduction/elimination affect your credit score?
21  General / Open Discussion / American Express Just Lowered My Credit Limit on: February 11, 2009, 07:14:24 PM
I just got a phone call from American Express that they are lowering my once credit limit of $5,000 all the way down to $800. They told me that it was due to the cards lack of use and the economy has to do with it. Has this happened to anyone else yet? All that I can say is that I want to pay off all my credit card debt and put them away for awhile.
22  General / Open Discussion / Re: Sprint has some REAL shady billing on: December 29, 2008, 08:57:26 PM
Ok, I called Sprint tonight and spoke to someone in billing and was on the phone for 20 mins and knocked off $110 off of my bill   Smiley I will stay with them, but I will really be checking into their monthly statements better for hidden charges. This was a lesson learned!
23  General / Open Discussion / Re: Sprint has some REAL shady billing on: December 28, 2008, 10:33:23 PM
I am not a picky person or hard to make happy with service BUT as a small business owner myself it really bothers me when a big business makes "misstakes" that ALWAYS favor them even if it is only a couple of dollars, multiply that by millions of people who might overlook it and poof millions in revenue!  If I am successful in my business it is going to be my way of "sticking it to the man" by showing big business what customer service is.  Sorry about the rant LOL (and the run on)

I agree! I don't have a bussiness, but you make a valid point.
24  General / Open Discussion / Re: Sprint has some REAL shady billing on: December 28, 2008, 05:37:00 PM
Ya they screw me every so often. Ive had a few phone bills over $600 cause they took stuff off my plan such as free incoming and texting. Raised a little hell afterwards and got full credit for each one back. Everysince they merged or whatever theyve gone down hill quite a bit.

I have heard of stuff like this too.  I will be calling them when I look through my statement a little more. I want to get as much money taken off that I can.
25  General / Open Discussion / Re: Sprint has some REAL shady billing on: December 28, 2008, 11:50:53 AM
I guess it doesn't really matter what company it is, No company can keep everyone happy, There are going to be issues sometimes. I've been with Sprint for 10+ years and I love the phone service as well as the customer service. Yeah, I've had to call  before to get something reversed or credited but they always take good care of me. I'm happy with them overall.

I am happy with them, but not there hokey billing. I have had to call customer service a few times on there billing. What you need to watch is your so called " Free mobile to mobile time" because they haven't lived up to that with me even though its in my plan. Angry
