1  General / Racing Scene / Re: Ocala Thunderbowl Sept 30th on: October 05, 2006, 05:17:29 PM
Hi everyone,

Here's the update on Mark Potter.  I don't want to go into too much detail as he can do that later if he wants to.  Mark had some injuries that needed more attention than the local hospital could handle.  He has been in Shands since that night.  He should be coming home soon for some rehab.  He'll be in a brace for a while but he'll pull through ok.  He probably won't be racing too soon.  I think he's doing great though.

2  General / Tech Corner / Suspension question for a Raptor 660 on: August 15, 2006, 03:00:15 PM
Hi everyone....I know that a YFZ450 front shocks will fit on my Raptor but I've heard that the rear shock won't fit.  I want to know what would be a good upgrade for the rear shock without spending the cash for a new aftermarket piece.  Is there shock from another quad that I could get to upgrade.  Or, have I heard wrong and the YFZ450 rear will fit???

Also, I've heard that the new LTR450's front shocks are set up stiff from the factory.  I have +2 a-arms so if the stock shocks from the Suzuki would fit I think they might be a good setup for me (240 pound rider)...

Give me some input...I think my rear shock is defective (worn out, seals blown, something).  Its a 2004 and I can't tell any change when adjusting the compression.  The rebound adjustment still works...

3  General / Tech Corner / Shocks for Raptor 660 on: June 09, 2006, 08:08:11 AM
I'm looking to replace the rear shock on my 2004 Raptor 660.  The stock one seems to have something wrong with the compression adjustment.  I adjust it all the way to both extremes and I can't tell any difference.  I was looking at purchasing a stock rear shock from a YFZ-450 but I have a question.  On eBay the front shocks from a YFZ go for more than $200 but, the rear shock sells for less than $100.  This seems odd to me and I wanted to know if anyone had any input.  I want to replace mine because I'm bottoming the quad out on medium jumps.  Please let me know why the rear (aftermarket rears are as or more expensive than a pair of fronts) are selling for so little.  Also give me some input about how good an idea it is to put the YFZ shock on a Raptor.  Thanks

Where is Sunshine?Huh  I live in Auburndale and I am having trouble finding quad friendly tracks nearby.  Auburndale closed and now Sandmountain is closing.  I rode Quicktrack in Lakeland about a month ago and it was a little to hardcore for me (still fairly new to mx).  I took my Raptor up to Hardrock last week and had a blast on a couple of the tracks there (Roller Coaster, Outland, and Sand tracks).  Give me some advice.  I'm also looking for some good trails/scrambles courses....any suggestions?Huh
