After much deliberation, I have decided to close Thunderbowl Speedway. It is purely a business decision, as we, like many others, have been a victim of the poor economy. I have had a lot of fun and met a lot of great people in my time out there. Thank you to everyone who helped and and made up the finest group of people that I've ever raced and dealt with. All of the races for the remainder of the year have been cancelled. I will no longer operate or be affiliated with the facility, nor will I run or promote any races there. I have been told the prior operators are re-opening the bar, so I will not be going anywhere near there. Anyone who remembers it before me knows why. By the way.... I haven't forgot.... I still have to hand out trophies for the Thunderbowl Spring TT & Flat Track Points Series. I will try to do this at an upcoming SDTA race, with a date to be determined. Never like to see a rider hurt. Heal up quick! I broke my femur several years ago and have the titanium rod too. You'll be fine in no time!

Local Pro/Am TT rider Jon Cabana is going to race at Black Ankle, NC this weekend. For those not aware, this area of North Carolina is home to some of the fastest Pro and Pro/Am TT riders in the country. Jon and his Yamaha will be going head to head with a load of fast guys on some seriously built Honda 450's Jon is a great kid and a very talented rider, so we wish him luck!

Thank you. Now the kids want to know if there are trophies for placing 2nd and 3rd for the series in TT Mini Quad A.

This Saturday is TT & Flat Track Racing at Thunderbowl Speedway. This is is the series finale for TT & Flat Track, as well as the SDTA. This is a DOUBLE POINTS race, and since it is the last race of this series it is mandatory and can not be used for a drop score. Several classes are very close and will be decided by this race, so there should be some good racing.
The Summer TT & Flat Track Series schedule is complete and will be available at the track on Saturday.
Gates open @ 9am
TT Racing to start @ NOON!
Don't be late cuz we ain't gonna wait!
Flat Track Racing to start after TT- approx 5 - 6 pm

We've got some more Thunderbowl Speedway T-shirts in, and some new stuff as well. Tee Shirts: M - XL, Black, White, & now Red Womens Tank Tops: Very nice shirts just for the ladies. (and Shawn McNary) Dickies Pit Shirts: These are nice! Button up, short sleeve, black. L & XL. There's only a few of these. Shirts available at the track on race days, or holler at me if you want one sooner. Hats will be next.  |
