1  General / Open Discussion / Re: College Football!!! on: September 04, 2007, 08:48:07 PM
It is painfully obvious that Michigan was a fraud last year and this year it will be no different. The same can be said for Ohio state , considering they got  beat harder than Keith Moons bass drum in the N.C game last year. Wisconsin seems to be the only real player in the Big 10. Gators lost a lot of talent and did reload on signing day but to expect any thing more than maybe getting to SEC champ game is a bit unrealistic. But, the offense will run better with someone who is way better suited to run it(Tebow). I thought the good ole' days with Coach Pell couldnt be topped, he left and Coach Hall took over and things where great , then Coach Spurrier came and brought home the Championship , Zook came ..................and well you know, Now Coach Meyer is here and I can only imagine more wins more SEC titles and yes ultimately.........................more National Championships!!!!!  ITS GREAT TO BE A FLORIDA GATOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Considering shes not the only one who makes this kind of a decision(typically its the county admin. Bob Weisman) and that she was behind getting Scripps to move to the right location I wouldnt be to quick to condem her on this alone. Incase some havent noticed the county is scrambling to continue providing the same service with out the current windfall of taxes dollars. That means there is little chance of anything but the mininum in regard to spending will be happening for quite some time. These geniuses put all their chips behind the housing boom supplying ample amounts of revenue like every other place in the nation.. Well , we all know that market is in the toilet and its still circling the bowl. I would not hold my breath for a newly elected anyone to do any different . Its sad but true.
3  General / Open Discussion / Re: How can this happen? on: April 18, 2007, 09:57:16 PM
While I respect every ones opinion, I don't necessarily agree with them. A nation of people cant expect there government to police morality. If our government did it would know longer be considered a true democracy. Considering most people would believe that would be moving near a more Orwellian society. This post was made to basically say........hey this is wrong !! Jesse Jackson can call Jews " HIEMIES" and call NYC " HEIMIE TOWN" with impunity, Sharpton condemns whites for the Tawana Brawley incident and doesn't apologize when its found to be a complete fabrication. Yet as off base and inaccurate as Imus was in his comment , It should not be considered " racial"  ( considering there are also white girls on this  Rutgers team) , in bad taste yes...but not racial.  These people would have you believe they feel the same way about the obvious misogynistic and racist lyrics in rap music............if that was the case wouldn't you hear about some out of work rappers?  This to me is unacceptable. IF these two extortionists are supposed to be watchdogs forthe black community, they are pathetic.  You should be looking for the real evil that looks to destroy your community and that is truly " hateful" instead of demonizing this  man for  comments that are really just in bad taste... nothing more.
4  General / Open Discussion / How can this happen? on: April 12, 2007, 08:23:31 PM
Imus taken off the air for saying " nappy headed hos" . And its considered
"racial"? What is this country coming to? The mans show is parody and common sense humor. This is just another Jesse " the shake down artist" Jackson and Al " I have no credibility" Sharpton muscling nutless corporations .
Maybe we should boycott NBC, CBS, and the rest of the nutless companies , to show them to stand up to these extortionists

GM owns a share of ISUZU and has for quite some time. The drive train on all Rodeos is GM built exclusive for isuzu , the ASCENDER is  just a Trailblazer. And yes an HOMBRE is also on the s-10 chassis, in fact you can buy Hombre parts at your local GM dealer, they have the cataloging.
9  General / Open Discussion / Re: boaters choice on engines on: March 21, 2007, 12:30:56 PM
Yamaha has become what Evinrude/ Johnson used to be , but with better performance. Most all the guys I know, their boats are rigged with Yamaha. Most are guides in the Keys, and they need their boats running in order to make money. Some are commercial fisherman and prefer the Yamaha commercial engine.
Mercury makes a very good race inspired engine and Im not saying they suck. But, I know that Yamahas are a more reliable engine that has great performance.

14  General / Open Discussion / Re: boaters choice on engines on: March 20, 2007, 03:18:21 PM
Yamahas carb 2 strokes are some of the most reliable and best performing engines ever designed for marine use. Mercury has a history of great performance but reliability has always been a question . Its to early to tell what may or may not happen with the E-tec , but it looks good so far.
15  General / Open Discussion / Re: Strongman Training on: March 16, 2007, 11:05:13 AM
I dont think people realize how hard you have to work to strength train. I used to train with a couple guys who where body builders ,they  trained to compete in shows. Not quite the same routine I was used to . Way to many reps w/ lighter weight then I like. But, they actually got less injuries then I did  because of it. Maybe Ill see you on ESPN someday!!

The "conservation easement" will do absolutely nothing to keep the government from enforcing its eminent domain powers. When they implement a taking of a large parcel of property they do not look at a so called "conservation easement". Instead, they look at the improvements to your actual parcel of property (not the parcel assigned to you in a so called camping area). The current use combined with the historical use (sometimes) is what is considered. Nothing more.

Sorry, but that conservation easement is in my opinion just a way to make people feel better while at the same time granting more power to a rogue organization.
You forgot to include future use and potential economic benefits to the area if use is changed.

I think the idea of letting every one find their lot and fence is off  and build on it, is really dumb. At that time you would have to call it a subdivision and hunting would no longer be allowed, if residences where allowed. I dont like the rules either, but I knew them prior to the purchase of my land many years ago. I and many others believe it petty to dwell on this. With all the stress of work, kids and just the daily grind , it makes this seem very "unimportant" to me and many that I know that are owners, we just want to show up and ride. I hope you get answers to your questions , BUT!!  Be careful what you wish for , the more crap thats stirred up just may cause an end to possibly the best riding left from north dade to orange county.

22  General / Open Discussion / Re: The Sound Of Country Music on: March 04, 2007, 09:57:13 AM
Has everybody forgotten the King of the Outlaws? Waylon Jennings!!!!
Country isnt country anymore, country is rock, cause rock turned into a bunch of queers dancin around with black dyed hair and tattoos screming lyrics you cant understand. Thats not a rock star!! Paul Rogers, Jimmy Page , Roger Daltrey, Robert Plant ,  those are rock stars. As far as todays country there are only a few. Alan Jackson, George Strait, Brad Paisely, Ricky Scaggs, Vince Gill , thats country !!! The rest of em are all fakes that couldnt make it in any other genre of music and now spew there crap on country radio. Whats the world comin to? Huh

County considers keeping ATVs off roadways

By Lester J. Davis

Palm Beach Post Staff Writer

Tuesday, February 27, 2007

Under pressure from the sheriff's office and its residents, Palm Beach County is set to repeal a 4-month-old state law today that placed all-terrain vehicles on equal footing with pickups and sedans.

The state law allowing ATVs on unpaved roadways during the daytime, where the speed limit is less than 35 mph, was adopted Oct. 1.

The bill, however, allows local municipalities to opt out of the law.

And the county has scheduled a hearing for 9:30 this morning to consider doing just that.

On Dec. 5, St. Lucie County's commissioners voted unanimously to opt out of the law.

In a July 20 memo, the sheriff's office warned the county that allowing ATVs to share congested roadways with motor vehicles could be a dangerous mix.

"Traffic conditions in PBC (Palm Beach County) can be challenging for experienced, licensed drivers," wrote Palm Beach County Sheriff's Deputy John Gibson. "An unlicensed, inexperienced 11-year-old ... riding a camouflage-colored ATV along a tree-lined roadway will complicate this further."

Marcio Mayorga, sales manager at Palm Beach Cycles, said he understands the safety concerns surrounding the debate. But the recklessness of a few riders should not place a bad name on all ATV riders, he said.

"There are a lot of responsible owners out there who use these machines properly," said Mayorga, whose shop on North Military Trail sells several hundred ATVs a year. "But there are always a few bad apples out there that unfortunately spoil it for the good ones."

The industry that regulates ATVs has done a good job teaching retailers the importance of preaching safety to their customers, Mayorga said.

There are age restrictions on ATVs and Palm Beach Cycles adheres to those standards, he said.

"If a parent comes in here looking for an ATV for their child, I immediately ask how old the kid is," said Mayorga, who noted that there are several sizes of ATVs, based on body type and age.

But the dangers posed by the machines have not slowed their popularity.

The exact number of ATVs on area roadways is unclear, but the number of people applying for permits with the Florida Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles has risen.

In 2005, 34,604 titles were issued. In 2006, that number increased to 36,721, according to the department.

In the four months since the law took effect, the county has gathered feedback and charted a course toward repealing the law, said the county's legislative affairs director, Todd Bonlarron.

"I've gotten a lot of e-mails from people who are supporting" repealing the state law on Palm Beach County roadways, Bonlarron said.

County Commissioner Jess Santamaria said he plans to vote in favor of repealing the law during today's council session.

"I'm 100 percent in support of anything that promotes safety and prevents injury and loss of life," he said.

In the end, nothing replaces common sense when dealing with ATVs, Mayorga said.

Allowing a child to ride an adult-sized ATV is "like giving the keys to a brand new Corvette to a 10-year-old."

24  General / Open Discussion / Re: PBC teeing up to opt out!~ on: February 06, 2007, 11:23:23 PM
What we all have to realize is that in PB county there are many dirt roads . They are not just in the Acreage , Loxahatchee and Jupiter Farms. There are dirt roads (for example) in Westgate, there are also dirt roads in Riviera Beach. So , while all of the offenses may not happen out west , its all lumped together . To be honest , Im shocked that PBcounty didnt opt out in the first place. There are many other counties that opted out that are more rural , have less urban areas and are less populated. It was a matter of time before accidents or careless operation in some or all of PB county was brought before the commission by PBSO.  It was ours to lose and it looks like thats what will happen.
