3  General / Where to Ride? / RIDING THANKSGIVING WEEKEND on: October 23, 2006, 07:53:36 PM
My family is looking to ride ONF the weekend of Thanksgiving.  Does anyone know if there is a good place to stay (cabin or something like it)? My wife does not want to camp for the 2 days.  Any info would be appreciated.
4  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Never been to ONF on: September 28, 2006, 08:31:08 PM
My son has a football at 11 on Sat.  We were going to ride ONF on Sun.  There are 8 of us going.  We are staying at the Ocala  RV and Campground Sat. night and plan to ride on Sun.

I have not yet had the opportunity to ride ONF.  I live in Pinellas where is the closest place to access the trails?  Any info will be greatly appreciated.

My boys are 16 and 11 and they both had fun.
7  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Best Place out of Florida???? on: June 10, 2006, 07:03:02 PM
We just got back from our two week vacation.  Coal Creek is awesome  but it was a little intense for the wife and my 11 year old.  But if you want ot go to a great family place try Broad River it is just north of Durhamtown on Hwy 77.  It is perfect for a family, easy trails for the wife and kids and some great trails for me too.  They also do tubing and 4 man rafts on the river.  I can't say enough about how clean the cabins were and how nice the people were.

Thanks for all the input.  I'll try ebay and Wal-Mart. We are going to Windrock May 30 - June 6 and then we we be at Broadriver until the 10th.  It's good to know that the map is worth getting.  Sometimes you look at those things and they look like something my son drew when he was 3.
9  General / Where to Ride? / Question about GPS on: May 19, 2006, 08:54:11 AM
I am planning on buying a GPS unit before we go to Windrock.  Is there a desent one that won't break my wallet.  I'm not into all that fansy bells and whistle just something that will get us back to basecamp.
10  General / Where to Ride? / Re: anyone been to 5a on: May 19, 2006, 08:51:38 AM

No, we just recently bought ours.  We were at Croom a couple of weekends ago.

I have 3 Mongoose 250's and have had no problem with them.  We actual bought them new from DP so you don't have to pay tax or a crate fee.  We rented from DP 5-6 time over a couple of years and have never had a problem.  My 16 year old son flipped his once and we turned back and it started right up.  They are perfect if you want a bike that performs but doesn't cost alot of money.  They handle great on trails and in mud.  My wife loves to play in the mud at DP and it hasn't let us down yet.  But you did the right thing by asking around because you truly don't know until you talk to someone who has owned one and put it to the test.  Good luck.

It's been raining here in Pinellas Co. all day.  God knows we need it before this whole state becomes on big forest fire.

OMG!!!! I went to Croom, for the first time, to test out our ATV's before we leave for vacation.  I didn't realize how many humps, bumps or whatever they are called out there.  This morning I realized that I am not 30 anymore.  I was fun but could someone please fill in some of those bumps for the older riders.

17  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Going to Atlanta area ...... on: May 02, 2006, 04:22:08 PM
I know first hand how much Durhamtown rocks!  That is where my family got started riding.  We haven't been to Broadriver yet but are planning on stopping there on our way back from Coal Creek.  Is there anywhere in North GA?  It doesn't matter if it is a couple of hours from Hotlanta.  We are so siked about going on our first vacation with our own ATV's.  I wish we would have done it sooner.  If anyone is going to Coal Creek let me know maybe we can hook up.  We will be there from June 30- May 6.  Then we are booked at Broadriver until the 10th.

21  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Another Durhamtown? on: April 14, 2006, 07:17:20 PM
Thanks, now that I have had time to map out our trip I found out exactly where it is.  We are planning to go to Tennessee first and then come back down through Georgia and ride Broad River and Durhamtown area for 4-5 days.
22  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Another Durhamtown? on: April 14, 2006, 06:09:36 PM
It looks like we are going to be there around June 5th.  We are going to Coal Creek in Tennessee the last week in May.  Never been there  but it sure looks cool.  Coal Creek was listed as on of the top 10 places to ride in the US on ATV Pathfinder website.
23  General / Where to Ride? / Another Durhamtown? on: April 13, 2006, 08:50:21 PM
Has anyone heard of Broad River ATV?  It sounds like another DP.  Our family is planning on checking it out this summer if anyone has been there let us know how it is?  It is somewhere south of Macon,GA.  There website is www.BroadRiverATV.com.
24  General / Where to Ride? / Re: Just getting started on: April 13, 2006, 08:41:52 PM
My 11 year old has a Kazuma 150 and the rest of us have Kymco 250 sport.  We enjoy trails with a little mud now and then.  Durhamtown is were we have been renting ATV's for the last two years  and we would like to find something a little closer now that we have invested in our own.
25  General / Where to Ride? / Just getting started on: April 12, 2006, 05:33:52 PM
Our family has recently purchased 4 ATV's and we are looking for some nice family places to ride in central Florida.  We have been to DP several times and that is what got us hooked.  So if anyone could point us in the right direction (we haven't purchased GPS yet) I would greatly appreciate it.
