No you're not alone, infact I think the majority on here believe as you and I do. We just get tired of pointing out the obvious only to have the same select few continue to dance around the truth and only answer the questions that they can put a twist on. There are so many faults in Obamas past actions and words that it's easy for anyone with a patriotic bone in their body to see, but yet the same people keep making excuses for his actions or keep denying them or just flat out refuse to touch on or go into depth on any of the subjects that reflect negatively on him.. I would give people like that more credibility if they ever admitted that Obama has said or done anything wrong but that will never happen.Instead they would rather deny or ignore the facts or better yet insult the intelligence of the person that posts the truths. I for one thank you Cheropride for researching and posting your findings and hope that you can sway a few before it's to late.As corny as it sounds you're doing a great service for your country.

I will be the first one to admit that Obama has made some mistakes in the past. With that being said, I don’t know a single person on this earth that hasn’t made mistakes. I actually like McCain and I thought he would have made a good leader back when he ran before but now I am just not sure he is the person we need right. Obama may not be the best one either, but at least he realizes that the country needs to be reorganized and wants to do things to change it. That has been his stance since day one. McCain didn’t start talking about change until about a month ago. The things that matter to me the most are the issues and I for one like Obama’s plan better than McCain’s. McCain just has too many ties to Bush and it scares me deeply. Just step back for a moment and look at the state of our country. Our country is in a state of disarray and we just can’t continue on like this. Everyone always seems to say things like Obama will raise taxes and McCain won’t. I would be completely surprised if the next president that got into office didn’t. What do you think is going to help pay down this deficit? Correct me if I am wrong, but I remember Pres. Reagan saying that he wouldn’t raise taxes either, but when he realized that wouldn’t work for our country, he ended up raising taxes several times and it helped our country tremendously. The point is we need to put somebody in office that is going to help out our country the most and tackle the issues. Who knows, maybe McCain may pull out a trump card before voting day and swing my vote, but for now I am leaning over to Obama.

He wrote them....  "I found a solace in nursing a pervasive sense of grievance and animosity against my mother's race".

Please get your facts right before you spread negative lies like that. I have read Obama's book and John Mcain's book as well because I want to be informed about the next potential President. The quote you stated is NOT in his book and was actually lifted from an article in the American Conservative. Obama never wrote those words. The author that wrote the article did. Those are the facts.
3  General / Open Discussion / Re: Obama for what? NOT! on: September 20, 2008, 03:18:22 AM
How is he guilty? I didn't read anything in his book that said he was a racist. I must have missed that part. Did you know that the church he attended is affiliated with the United Church of Christ, a predominantly white Christian denomination that oversees many of the churches that they are affiliated with. Did you know that other races (including White people) routinely visited and spoke at the church that Obama attended? Rev Wright is somebody I would described as an opportunist. He could have started the whole controversy just to be put in the spot light. Unless you can produce some actual evidence of the Rev Wright going on a racist tirade before Obama  was in the picture, I am still going to keep an open mind until I see the evidence that proves otherwise. One more thing, I actually know of two incidents where preachers came out and confessed to being pedophiles and yet they still were able to carry out their regular duties. One was able to come back after he got psychiatric help and the other had to help build a community center for children! I guess all the people that forgave them must have been pedophiles too.
4  General / Open Discussion / Re: Must read if you're younger than 40 on: September 20, 2008, 02:14:02 AM
Of course things are different now. People are more educated, more informed, and more observant about what’s going on with their government and society. President Bush just flat out blew it. He had the support of everyone in this country and we all knew he had to strike back after 9/11. He was supposed to get the man who perpetrated the attacks! Remember that guy named Osama? Everyone was ALL for that and this is the person he was supposed to go after! So tell me, how is it that we are the strongest military in the world and we still can’t capture a man that is reported to be on dialyses! We have some of the most advanced military technology in the world and yet this extremist still eludes us. This war in Iraq is just a pointless and endless war. Go tell the mother that lost both of her sons in this unnecessary war that they died for a good cause. Why else do you think that the people enlisting in military services has gone down significantly? Because people are realizing that this war we are fighting is absurd and they don’t want to lose their lives over something that has no purpose. People keep saying, “We are winning the war in Iraq”. How? What do you think will happen when the troops finally pull out? It is going to go back to the same way it was before the U.S. got there because our military will no longer be there to enforce anything. You can’t govern people that don’t want to be governed and surely you can’t govern a country from thousands of miles away. So in the end you end up with countless lives lost in an absurd war, an economy that is now 9 trillion dollars in dept, homes foreclosing at an all-time rate, unemployment that is skyrocketing through the roof, people watching their life savings go up in smoke, cooperate scandals at an all time high, the U.S. indebted to China because we keep borrowing money from them, gas prices out of control, crime on the rise, Mom and Pop to big businesses going under……the list goes on and on.  People didn’t turn their backs on the President because they just “felt like it”. People turned their backs on him because a lot of people feel he turned his back on them.
5  General / Open Discussion / Re: Obama for what? NOT! on: September 20, 2008, 12:13:28 AM
Ok seriously. What part of that tirade was actually funny? The people that I showed that clip to were shocked, saddened, disappointed, confused, and angry, but nobody thought it was funny. Yes I do call it ignorant and ridiculous and what would make you think that I wouldn’t think the same about the Rev Wright situation? I think what Rev Wright said was actually just as bad if not worse than what James Manning said. As far as Obama’s stand on it, I am still on the fence about that. I try to view everything from both sides. I can see where someone could say “Wait a minute. He was a member of his church for 20 years so he must feel the same way too”!  Then I think, how can I judge Obama or anyone on the actions of someone else? My best friend attended a church in his home town for over 25 years and last year his Pastor was arrested for touching children inappropriately. So are you saying that since my best friend attended his church for over 25 years that he is a pedophile too? My good friend (who is of another race) that I met in college has a father that is an outspoken racist. So by your views, since he grew up with his father his entire life, that my good friend (who was also one of my groomsmen) is also a racist? You just can’t attack someone because of something that someone else says or does. Rev Wright could have snapped and gone off the deep end for all we know. Obama did the right thing by denouncing Rev Wright and his church and stating on air that he was displeased and disappointed with Rev Wright’s actions. Until I see concrete evidence that he feels the same as Rev Wright, I can’t hold him accountable for the poor actions of someone else. I guess I am one of the only people that still believes in “Innocent until PROVEN guilty”.
6  General / Open Discussion / Re: Obama for what? NOT! on: September 17, 2008, 09:33:37 PM
This is actually one of the most ignorant and ridiculous segments I have seen in a long time. Nobody that talks with that much hatred and disrespect is a man of God. Obama told the media that Palin’s family was off limits so why is he attacking Obama’s family with such despicable and insulting language. This so called “reverend” has already been written off in society as a complete imbecile. The thing that gets me most is that some people seem to think it is funny, but honestly, how would you feel if someone said these cruel things about your own family. Not so funny then.
7  General / Open Discussion / Re: Vice President Palin on: September 05, 2008, 01:36:49 PM
What is going on around here!? I thought this was going to be a stimulating discussion about the possible VP Sarah Palin and yet I see an "off color" pic about senator Obama in a "Driving Miss Daisy" role?  Thank you apkkfx400 for speaking up and saying what needed to be said. I am glad to see that there are compassionate and intelligent people like you that still exist around here. I haven’t been coming on this board much lately because of all the nasty and hurtful things people do and say on this board. It’s one thing to disagree about someone because you may not believe in what they are saying or stand for, but to start talking about assassinating someone and posting things with so much racial undertone is so sickening and appalling. It has gotten so bad lately that I am honestly thinking about getting out of this sport all together. Everyone knows that it is much more fun to ride with fellow riders but honestly, how comfortable would someone feel if they knew the person or people that they met for a “group ride” actually hated them just because they were of a different race. I love this sport and love riding with new people regardless of their race, sex, or creed. I’ve always treated people with respect regardless of who they were but I am starting see that many people on here do not feel the same way I do and it is very disheartening.

This kind of talk and the threats to a presidential candidate of the United States of America is exactly what is going to cause a voter backlash!
Smartest thing said all day. Every person has their faults, even our president now isnt perfect, but that doesnt mean Obama is going to ruin this country, and I feel he has perfectly good intentions. And if he does do something stupid, we can impeach him, duh!

+1. Glad to see that there are some poeple that are not so closed minded.  Clapper
9  General / Open Discussion / Re: Vote on president!! i want to see how people are on here and how they feel on: June 19, 2008, 12:38:55 AM
These type of threads are the reason why I don't visit this site much anymore. This site, "I thought", was supposed to be a family oriented site, but honestly, how can it be considered that when people openly talk and joke about killing someone, and possibly a president for that matter? I just can't believe the comments that I have seen on this site lately. It saddens me to think that a fellow rider would be ok if a president got assassinated because he was black. Threads like this one don't belong on here. It conjures up to much negativity and gets way too offensive.

Isn't that the area with the no trespassing signs all around it? I think I went out to that place once but turned around after I saw the signs.

15  General / Open Discussion / Re: Verizon FIOS on: September 10, 2007, 09:55:24 PM
I've had it for 6 months and am very happy with it. At my house, the Brighthouse signal was weak coming in and my HD channels would cut out. I was also resetting my cable modem daily because of signal loss. The internet speed is also a lot faster, including the upload speed (at least in my neighborhood). I got the phone package, too. Unlimited long distance is nice. At the time I signed up, it cost me exactly the same as Brighthouse, but I did get the two additional cable boxes. Reliable internet service is extremely important to me as I'm on it all day long. It hasn't gone done in 6 months so I'm sticking with it.

I too have had the Fios for about 7 months and couldn't be happier. I used to have Brighthouse networks and I hated it. I would constantly have to keep my fingers crossed hoping that my internet wasn't down. It would go out at least 3 times a month. I haven't had my internet go down not once with Verizon. Three times a month may not seem like a lot, but when you have a credit card payment that is due and your internet is down so you have to go find a library, then it is too much. Not to mention my TV would go in and out all the time. But what really made me decide to give BHN the boot was the fact that when I cancelled TV service with them and kept the sorry internet, they sent BHN guys out to my house twice to get me to sign up for TV service again. I hate people coming to my house uninvited, ringing my door bell while I am trying to eat dinner with my family.  That sealed it!
16  General / Product and Services Reviews / Re: All American Powder Coating in Tampa - Over Priced AND Unfriendly! on: August 31, 2007, 12:12:26 AM
If you like high prices and overall unfriendliness, go to All American Powder Coating in Tampa located on Bearss Ave. They'll greet you with an insipid glare before they tell you their high prices. If you're lucky, you can get your invoice ripped up and thrown in the trash after you tell them you are going to shop around as the owner storms out of the room. Then the secretary can pretend to work as she occasionally glances up at you while you gather your parts and make an exit.

You know what? You can charge any price you want and treat your customers any way you want. It is a free market. But to me, its more All American to go somewhere else where I feel appreciated as a customer. High prices don't always get to me, but poor customer service with that combined, just gets my blood a boilin'. There's always another place to go.

Yeah I had a buddy that took his parts there. He said the same thing about the unfriendly attitude. They also told him that his parts would be ready in a week. Three weeks later they finally finished the job and the paint job showed a lot of imperfections in it. There would be no way I would have taken those parts back after waiting three weeks and seeing those blemishes in the paint job. My buddy was just so ticked off that he didn't want to deal with them at all so he just dealt with it.

i think it would have to be ltr, yfz, kawi, honda, can am. i say ltr is the best because of the center mounted exhaust. idk why but i think that looks sick

I agree with that order. That ltr does look wicked with the center mounted exhaust and I think indeed it is the badest looking bike out right now.
18  General / Racing Scene / Re: Harescramble May 12th!! Let's go woods racing! on: May 13, 2007, 03:50:22 PM
This was my first Harescramble and I loved it. I did the quadscrambles before and this was totally different because you don't get to ride with the A and B riders if you are in the QS C class. Those A riders are insane!!!! I was moving pretty good and the A class riders would pass me like I was parked on the side of the course. I decided to give chase to 9A for a while but then I realized I wanted to walk again because if I kept up that pace, I would have ended up in a wheel chair for sure! Great time though. See you guys at the next one!   Grin

I have heard that the military does bomb testing out there so that may be the reason for the "no public access".

erasing black on black crimes

What kind of comment is that?HuhHuhHuhHuh??

Black on white crimes are OK?HuhHuhHuh??

That is not the message that they were trying to get across. All crimes are wrong but there is a really big problem with violence within the black communities. A lot of this nonsense can be attributed to the ignorant rap songs and artist that perpetuate violence among themselves. All crime is bad, they were just addressing a serious matter.

What the hell is up with that e-mail? I guess you did not really understand my post.I Have lots of Black Friends and most of them make more money than i do, that being said, I know that it takes all races and all people to make this world go round i was just pointing out some facts.
I apologize if you are offended but, read the post and comprehend it. I was born here in the south and i understand racism and i am not never have been and never will be

I did read your post thoroughly and this was not a personal attack at you. I was just responding to what was stated in the post and how I felt about the material that was suggested to be passed around.   Wink
21  General / Open Discussion / Re: Thoughts on: April 20, 2007, 03:51:34 PM
I tell you what. I have been on this site for a while and lately all the racial stuff that has been coming up is making me sick. Let me just start by saying this. What happened to Don Imus was uncalled for. Everyone makes mistakes and what he said was inappropriate but he should not have lost his job over it. In fact, what he did was over and beyond what he needed to do to apologize but yet he still lost his job. If something more important in the media was going on during that time, the Don Imus story would not even exist.
As far as this thread is concerned, many of the comments made bother me. Many of the comments state YOU this and YOU that. I for one disagree with MANY of the statements. I have never once sneered or snickered in a White person's direction and called them derogatory names and many of my black friends don't either. It is ignorant. There is no reason to sling racial epithets at people. If a person doesn't want to be perceived as a racist then they shouldn't act like one.

Violence is violence. It happens everywhere. Contrary to what people may believe, there are white ghettos, black ghettos, spanish ghettos and so fourth. Violence is usually rampant in these parts mainly because of high drug use and trafficking as well as the lack of education.

Organizations such as the United Negro college fund were designed to help black people many years ago because black people were not getting aid for colleges like their white counterparts. Martin Luther King day? That holiday is a joke. Most people don't even recognize it or observe it. Black history month was created because you would be hard pressed to find information about black history even in the school history books. It just isn't discussed much if at all.

Did you know that BET is not even black owned? It is owned by a white corporation.  Being a person that attended a black college, these schools have been around for decades. Most back in a time when there was segregation. Blacks just needed a place to get an education. We didn't have the luxury that we do now to just go to any college. By the way, take a trip to a black college and you will see many different races on these campuses.

The Million Man March was supposed to be organized to promote self awareness among black men and relay the message of being a man. Things like taking care of your family, being leaders, erasing black on black crimes, etc. Rights were a topic because it is something that black people deal with on a constant basis.

If someone is white and proud then they should let it be known! Black people may sometimes announce that the are "Black and Proud" because many have been led to believe that they are an inferior race.  It's just a way to pick your head up after it has been beaten down.

The carjack comment got to me the most. I have never car jacked or robbed anyone, and neither has any other African American I associate with. Not every black person a cop beats down is a drug dealer. Whether people want to believe it or not, there are racist cops. This is one of the reasons why I don't care too much for cops. I have been harassed and pulled over several times just because I "fit a description". I can not tell you what it feels like to be pulled over by two white cops and have them throw all of your belongings onto the shoulder of the road and leave it there to supposedly look for drugs and then tell you have a nice day. How about 3 white cops telling you to strip down to your underwear, (yes, just boxers) with there guns drawn on you saying "We know you have drugs on your person". You can't even imagine the humiliation and anger you feel as they drive away snickering.

I just feel like we all need to just stop with all of this stupid race crap from the Blacks, Whites, Spanish, etc. Why can't we just love one another like the bible says and that be that? I have MANY friends and I could care less about what race they are, all I see is the person.  Smiley

Cool pics man.  Just to reiterate what trx450_racer said, be careful riding by yourself. I ride by myself sometimes out to croom as well and it rattles my nerves a bit. It is much safer to ride with someone else. If you ever need a fast riding buddy, just hit me up!
